Coming out of lurking here, me and my family will be on this cruise, can't wait

I'm just now getting excited about this cruise. Booked excursions and am now scouring the Disboards. It's all becoming more real for me... I booked this more than a year ago!

I so totally agree with the previous poster- I booked forever ago and now it is starting to feel real!!! I am on the FE waiting list- hoping it all pans out and now working on where to stay the night before the cruise- any ideas or tips DIS friends?

Also, we are currently planning to have a DIS meet & greet on the first day. Tentatively scheduled for 3p-4p in D-Lounge. I know some folks over on FB are talking about getting the shirts and wearing them to the meet. I am also trying to arrange for other items to be available with the logo on it. I'll let you know when I know.

The hotel recommendation will depend on if you have a vehicle or not. This cruise we are arriving on Thursday and will be staying at Bay Lake Towers. For our last cruise, we stayed at the Country Inns & Suites near the airport, 5440 Forbes Place. They had a free shuttle from the airport and breakfast.

One other piece of advice I will give is to look into a limo service if you have 4 or more in your party. It saved us some money to use a limo service instead of Disney transfers with our party of 7. This also would allow you to stop for beverages if you want to take some onto the ship.

We're staying at the Country Inn & Suites at the port. Others stay at the Hawthorn Suites and like it. They are beside each other if memory serves.

Yes, they do hold some spots to book on the ship. The same is true for dining reservations at Palo or Remy.

I am so glad to hear that since I have trying to get on the Fury Catamaran for Cozumel!

I was just speaking with Happy Limo (thanks for the Mousesavers tip Wendy!) and Glinda there was telling me that we get off the ship at the LASTEST 9am on Sat, April 6. Our flight out is not until 5pm that evening so rather than hang out at the airport for 7-8 hours I was thinking of doing something with my girls. Anyone have suggestions?

That is our situation, too! Last time we had a late flight, we rented a car and hung out at Downtown Disney for a few hours. We had lunch and shopped. It was nice. We plan to do the same thing this time.

Or maybe you could go to the Kennedy Space Center?
