March 27, 2010 - Spring Break with Mickey on the Magic!

Do people dress up like pirates the day of the Pirates of the Caribbean show?

we dress up for pirate night for dinner and the pirates IN the carribean deck party. actually, if I remember, we have late dining, so we change into pirate garb before the evening show in the walt disney theatre. i'm not sure if you were asking if people dress up the whole day. i don't remember ever seeing anyone dress up before dinner time, but I suppose someone had.

Dinner during pirate night has a party atmosphere with music and a parade of "pirates" around the dining room. of course not everyone dresses up for the occasion, but it adds to the fun of the evening. in the past, DCL would give everyone a pirate bandana to wear during dinner, but i've heard they may might not be doing this still.

we are flying out in 2 weeks, spending friday at magic kingdom.

will anyone else be at WDW before the cruise?

We are flying down on Thursday and spending that day at MK and then going to Epcot on Friday. Probably do breakfast and take a swim on Saturday before heading over to the port. Staying at Poly.

We are driving down on Friday and stay at the Radisson at the Port. We are going to WDW after the cruise.I don't know if we will go to any parks we will see when get there how crowded it is.

We are flying down Thursday afternoon and staying Thursday and Friday at the Radisson at the Port for some r&r before more r&r! 14 days!!!!

We are flying in Saturday morning. I was hoping to fly in Friday, but since MAW is making all the reservations, I have to take what we get!! and I am very grateful for it!! We have a 7am flight from NY, if all goes as planned we arrive at MCO around 10am. Then to the port!

you guys are all so lucky... our flight (with 1 stop) is over 7 hours and there is a 3 hour time change. we leave early on thursday morning and don't get to MCO until 5pm. we are also staying at wdw for 3 days after the cruise. i'm not sure about going to the parks either as it is usually quite crowded at easter. actually i was kind of hoping that harry potter would be open to draw people away from wdw while we are there. oh well, we were there before christmas so we don't have to try and see everything.

We are not far from you - we are up on Seattle. Luckily we got a non stop flight but we leave at 8:30 Seattle time and don't arrive in Floriday until 5 or 5:30EST. It's going to be a long day!

:beach:We are flying down on Friday and staying at WDW. We're spending one night there after disembarking also. I bought the Disney transfers to port, but am having second thoughts because I want to get on board earlier. I'm wondering if we can get out of it this late in the game without losing all our money ($70 x 5). Anyone know?

Also, for anyone who hasn't settled on plans in St. Martin, I was still able to book a private tour with Bernard. (Maybe we'll be following the rest of you around :)) What you all planned sounded great, but by the time I got my act together and figured out what we wanted, the bus was full. The private tour is a lot more expensive, but I'm looking forward to it. He called to confirm yesterday, and I'm thankful to be able to book with him this late in the game. St. Thomas is another story...I still haven't figured that one out, and the post about Air Force One tours being full is worrying. DD doesn't do well on small/mid-size boats, so that rules out a lot. I am thinking Coral World/Coki Beach. I'm wondering if it's going to be so crowded that it won't be enjoyable. Also, Coral World doesn't get such fabulous reviews. What is everyone else doing?

Two weeks from now we will be in the airport ready to leave! I can't believe after all of this time it is so close.

We are doing a "trial pack" this weekend to make sure we have everything and that everything will fit in a reasonable amount of luggage.

Ptea - We are doing Snuba Diving in St Thomas. Someone on here had recommended it and it looks like a lot of fun. My 8 year old is so excited for it!

Christine

We'll arrive by car some time on Friday and stay with my sister in Orlando. Hmmm... I need to figure out St. Thomas also.

We are driving down Friday morning, should be there early Sat. morning. So two weeks from today, right about now, we should be somewhere in Virginia. Lounge chair getting closer!:thumbsup2

We will be flying in on Friday and staying at AKL Friday night. :earsboy: We are taking the transfers over on Saturday also. I don't like getting to the port later either but there is just something about having them take care of all that luggage for you! Hopefully, we won't be too late for a yummy lunch!!

For St Thomas: There is the lady that is a link on the Bernards Website in St. Thomas that still has availability for a tour. She would go shopping, Magens, Coki/Coral World for $35 if you had 10 people on the tour. She says that you should start out early because the 2 bigger ships don't get into port until 10am so you want to try to get ahead of them. I don't know anything about her and I have not been able to find anyone on the boards who have used her so I cannot recommend her only that Bernard has had some dealings with her so I just wanted to put that out there if anyone is interested.

I think after our tour in St. Martins, we might just try to get around on our own, at our own pace in St. Thomas. We will see. Carol

Yeah, we could probably just grab a cab to Magens or something. We're not all that big into shopping so St. Maarten will scratch that itch plenty. That said, if someone wants to get a tour together, we'll jump on board with the 4 of us. (Me, DW, DS6, DD4)

Would it be ok to add one more FE family to the list and then say that we are absolutely done and closed? :flower3:

I've got my FE stuff done already and I'm sure some of the rest of you do too, but I don't mind doing one more and I'd really like to include these folks. They aren't newcomers to the thread but we made up the rules, so we can break them, right? Let me know what you think.
