March 27, 2010 - Spring Break with Mickey on the Magic!

Thank you for including us! Do you know how we can find the instructions to make these fish extenders for our stateroom?

There are lots of pictures on those other threads showing all kinds of fish extenders - you will get lots of ideas from fancy to functional! I don't have a sewing machine out so I did mine with iron on hem stuff and hot glue! There are no-sew instructions on those threads also if you don't sew. Some people just took tote bags and creatively put them together. Whatever works for your family!

Also, what are the ages of your children so we will know for age appropriate fe items? Thanks!

LV Disney Fan--Thank you SO much for organizing our FE for us!!

I was wondering if anyone would mind switching days with me. I'm currently on Thursday, which would be fine, but my FE gift might be useful to some during the cruise, so ideally it would be earlier. But, if no one wants to switch, it's fine, as it can be used after the cruise as well. ;)

Thanks!
Patti I.

I'll switch with you, so you can do Monday and I'll do Thursday. I'll post an updated schedule soon.

Schedule looks good to us too.

We also have late dinner seating.

I have class and work everyday till the cruise so hopefully time will go by quick. I also applied for a Management internship at WDW at hope to hear back before we leave for the cruise.

I hope you get that internship! I've always wanted to work for Disney. Hasn't worked out so far but it's now my retirement dream to move to SoCal and work at Disneyland! (Unfortunately I can't retire for many years but I can think about it :cool1:)

Well, I made up a nice spreadsheet with all the FE info and then I just realized that the DIS board doesn't let you post or PM attachments! :confused3 So, if anyone would like all the names, genders, and ages of the FE participants along with the delivery schedule and suggested order, send me a PM with your email address and I'll email you the file.

Thanks! I did the college program already and loved working at Disney. I worked in the Emporium on Main Street. Its hard work but they are a great company to work for. This is the next step. I hope to work in the Disney corporate office eventually.

I forgot to mention that Holly and I intend to run the Castaway Cay 5K when we are there and would welcome anyone who wants to join. We've never done it before, but I understand you meet at the dock at 8:00 or 8:30 am . They should have something in the Navigator about it. We'll put the kids in the club early, go run and then come back for them.

We also plan to do the martini and/or margarita tasting if there is one. Same offer applies; we welcome anyone who wants to join us.

Hi Magic Cruisers from the Jacoby Family. We are very late getting into this group but LV Disney Fan got us in. Our daughter, Melaina is 10 1/2 and Jake will be turning 7 in a few weeks. Hope that helps. Please let us know what else we need to do! Can't wait to meet all of you.
Adrienne and Chad

Thank you and will try to find this information about the fish extenders. These threads are so confusing for me.

This link is to a great thread with lots of examples of FEs and instructions on how to make them. It's just very long so you will need some time to read it all: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607

Here's a link to a specific post from the FAQ thread that may help:

Don't stress. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just have fun with it!

CruisinCastaways--We have kids almost the same age as yours! DD Emma turned 11 last month, and our son Alex is 7.

Come to the dis meet in the Promenade lounge on Saturday at 3:00 so they can meet each other!

We booked the DCL tour of Coral World but I do not like the timing, back at the ship before noon with nothing to do. I just spoke with Burlie @ VI Scenic tours (recommended by Bernard's). She had some good information. Coki beach is typically the best beach on the island for little ones as the water is calm (most days), Coral World is on one end of the beach. They have food and beverage on the beach plus snorkeling, scuba etc. Transfers to/from the ship are $9 PP one way. You do not need to pay in advance. Her vehicles hold 18 so it might be nice to get enough folks to make a full bus load. Let me know if you are interested.

We might be interested in joining you - what time are you thinking of going over there?

Thinking about a pick up from the ship @ 9AM with a pick up from the beach @ 1:30 PM. Puts us back at the ship @ 2 PM. Traveling with a barely 2 year old and a 5 year old. I see you will have a little one as well.

GREAT. I booked the trip...see post below. The trip that I originally booked with DCL included the semi-sub. I am waiting to hear back from Coral World on the availability for that activity. Please PM me with your names if you want me to add you to the reservation. It is a pay on arrival booking so no need to exchange any funds.

Welcome!! My kids are DS 11, DD 81/2, DS turning 7 April 1st!!

As for the margarita tasting, we are up for tasting any alcoholic beverage!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: Beer, martinis, margarita's. We are not really picky!!!:lmao::lmao:

I have arranged for transfers to/from Coki Beach with Burlie (recommended by Bernard from St Martin). Her bus accommodates 18 passengers. The fare is $9 per person one way. If we form a group the kids will be 1/2 price but I am not sure how many we need to get the break so plan on the full price for now. This is a pay on arrival program so no complications if anyone changes their plans. If you are interested in joining let me know and I will add your names to the list. I also looked at some reviews and it appears that taxis are readily available at Coki Beach for early return.

Schedule-pick up @ 9AM (half hour to beach). Return pick up from the beach 1:30 PM...back at dock 2PM.

My family... Aaron, Meg, William (5), Anna (2). I think it would be fun to do this with some other families with kids.

Description of Coki Beach from USVI Tourist Site
Coki is a small, pretty beach located on Coki Point. The crystal clear water is usually very calm and deepens gradually. Natural shade is limited, however umbrellas are available for rent. A near shore rocky, reef area offers great snorkeling. A favorite with visitors and a popular stop on island tour itineraries, the beach gets crowded when multiple cruise ships are in port. Coki is equally popular with residents for picnics and parties so its common to find a crowd on Sundays and holidays. On crowded days the parking situation can be a bit crazy, there is parking available in some spots just off the road close to the beach but not a whole lot. Beachside eateries and roadside food vans serve picnic table fare including burgers, sandwiches and some local dishes. Call it touristy or call it convenient; you will also find hair braiders, chair rentals, oodles of taxis, beach waiters serving refreshing drinks and vendors selling t-shirts, sunblock, art work, bags, wrap skirts, towels and more! There is a dive shop on site. A jet ski rental booth is located just across the road, opposite the beach and a few vendors rent snorkel gear, floats and noodles. To some the vendor's booths and shacks add to the atmosphere of the beach, for others it takes away from the scenery. Coki Beach is located right next to Coral World Marine Park; its easy to make a day of visiting both places.

I see us as being in on this as well. (2 adults and 2 kids) I don't think we booked anything for St. Thomas, but I need to check.

FE folks: We are all set for the kids, but we are really struggling on what to get for the adults. Any suggestions from folks who have done this in the past?
