March 27, 2010 - Spring Break with Mickey on the Magic!

Glad you are joining...for my DD sake anyway. SOme girls around her age!!

I could probably do more beach time as well, but also willing to flow right along!! I am now really excited about this!!! People to hang with.

I have to go change my spa appt. Did not think we were going to anything planned in St. Marten so I made appt for a massage at 8 am. I'll see what I can do, or just cancel and rebook on board or if all else fails just take DH from him the next day!!!

We're hoping there will be quite a few kids our daughter's ages on the tour and on the boat in general. On our last cruise, we didn't get them into the club until the last day, which we realized was a mistake for mom and dad. We plan to get them in right away, so if you plan to do the same, I'm sure the kids would love to meet up.

I noticed that your cruise countdown ticker, which leads me to believe that it's a MAW cruise. Is that correct?

Yes it is. My youngest son Brian has Cystic Fibrosis, and is having his wish grated from the Make a Wish Foundation. He is doing very well right now, but had a very rough fall. I think he missed 5 out of 6 weeks of school in sept/oct. He is very excited and he will also be turning 7 on April 1st. I am glad they could accomodate our dates, but I really did not want him to any more school.

:cool1:Good news for our Spring Break w/ Mickey Tour group (at least for some!). I have negotiated the rates w/ Bernard and he has agreed to only charge $25 for each child ages 4 - 9 years. Anyone 10 and older will still be the $35. Hope this helps some of you with the younger children! And we still have some openings so maybe anyone who was considering joining us will come on over to the fun bus now!! There is room for more DISers!!

Wow, I go to NYC for a couple of days and the thread gets really busy. I am getting really excited! I love the new design and welcome to the new comers. We will be getting our FE stuff ready next week as thats my Spring Break.

Carol, thank you so much. Disney also uses the 10+ rule, so no biggie, You still saved me $20. I'll have to use it to buy you a drink!!!

Seriously, I though I was the only one on the boards at 5 in the morning, what are you doing up so early. Me, I leave for work in 2 minutes. Live in Huntington, work in Coney Island, trying to beat SOME of the traffic.

Looks like we won't be joining you guys anymore :sad2: My mom cannot get off as much time as she thought she was going to. We are trying to work with Disney to switch to a different date. I hope everyone has a great time!

I'm so sorry you have to change your plans. I hope switching your dates works out and and you have a great cruise whenever it is!

The 4 of us are interested in joining the Bernards tour, if there is room. Is the priviate tour under a specific group name when I call them?

That is great!! You don't have to call or email them. I am in touch with them and have a master list going so just let me know family name (guessing Bishop?) and ages if children (you can pm me if you like) and I will add you to the list. He was getting duplicate reservations so he said it would be better just to go through me and use one list. I will be glad to add you on - we are looking forward to a great time!!!

Hi Everyone.....

Glad to see everyone is busy planning.....guess we should be doing the same...lol. At this point I have no idea what we are going to do in St. Maarten.....what is there really to do with a 2 year old in tow?....from what I understand its mostly beach, eating and shopping for the little ones....so I;m trying to condition her for the shopping now....lol..... In St. Thomas we are hoping to do Coral World, the beach for a little while and the tram to the top of the mountain....does anyone have any experience with any of the above?

I can't believe that we are leaving in 4 weeks! Now the dreadful packing needs to begin.....lol

OOPs, sorry I did not look before my previous post - I see ages of the children on the front page list so I will add the four of you on the list!

As of Saturday, it will be 3 weeks!!! Yikes!!, so much still to do! We also have an almost 2 year old grandson in tow and we are doing the Bernards tour in St. Maarten and are looking at pretty much what you described for St. Thomas (not sure about the tram yet though). I think those would be best with the little ones too! We are thinking he will be fine during the 1st sightseeing part of the tour, then burn off energy at the beach so MAYBE nap time as the shopping part kicks in! If not, between his mom, other grandmother & me - he has had plenty of experience shopping already!!

Hi Everyone.....

All those activities in St. Thomas sound great for my family, too. I'm wondering if there's enough time to do them all?

We are getting so close I can feel my heart beating faster already!!!! For our Bernards tour, we are now on our own PRIVATE van for us Mickey Spring Breakers!!! Since it is just us, we can decide where we want to go and how long we want to stay, etc. If anyone has any suggestions, we can discuss if we want Bernard to change anything - lets talk about it and we can all decide if we want to do something different than his standard. I told him I would get back to him on that. (Already agreed with the no nude beaches!!) He has agreed to still charge us the same $35 per person, kids 3 and under ride for free. (usually private vans are higher but hey, a little pixie dust goes a long way!). There is still room for some more if any others here would like to join the fun!!! - There are 24 of us signed up as of now. Let me know if anyone else wants to come along! Carol

Is there a website for Bernards? (Sorry if I missed this along the way!) I'd like to read more about the tour that you are all going on...It must be great!

I still don't know what we are going to do anywhere! I am totally feeling behind by booking this cruise so late. Little to be had by way of Palo and spa reservations, and so much research to do on our options in port. I'm bleary-eyed from reading, and I feel like I could read for weeks out here and never get caught up! I just need to envision my toes in the sand on CC. :cool1:
