March 26, 2011 - Eastern Caribbean Magic and FE Exchange!

are at the character breakfast?

:wizard:

In the atrium there are different characters that you can get autographs and pictures with at meal time. A lot of princesses and classic Disney characters. Of course Captain Jack Sparrow has a meeting session on Pirate Party night. Also Mickey, Mini and a few others change costumes each day.
They keep a schedule and provide it with your daily navigator.

How did you get the info about what movies are expected to be playing? We have been talking about maybe Tangled would be playing. My son was asking about it yesterday.

They have the movies the same day they are in theaters. So we will get any new Disney release and a wide variety of other Disney movies.

Thanks. I was hoping to not wait for characters that we could see at the breakfast. I think we'll be in good shape no matter what.

First-time cruiser question: When and what documents are sent to us? I have read about docs coming in the mail and luggage tags, but I am not sure when I should expect them? Tx

I just emailed everyone the FE list! But of course the first email I sent I forgot to attach it..... DOH!

Thanks for the list!

Talk about "Doh"...I just wrote a long post and somehow deleted it, and now I don't have time to rewrite it. :confused3

Got it, thanks for your hard work, Karajeboo!! I have a question: A friend of mine swears she didn't get a room assignment until she checked in at the port! I still have a GTY room with no room assignment yet. I see that others don't have a cabin number listed, either. What happens if we don't get a cabin number before we leave?? :scared1: Or will we definitely get one 45 days in advance and my friend is mistaken (she did go quite a number of years ago). :confused3

Only 50 days to go! Hooray! :ccat: :dumbo: :donald: :sulley: :goofy: :stitch: :simba:

You do get a number. There is an opportunity to upgrade at port, but GTY rooms are assigned soon.

I was shocked when my whole family was 'on board' ;) with the idea to dress up for the pirates night! Anyone else going to dress up?

We are!!! :thumbsup2 A couple of years ago we all dressed as pirates on Halloween (Jeff and I like to dress up when we go out with the kids trick or treating) so we have those costumes still! I think it will be so much fun! And I'm excited to meet Capt Jack! :lovestruc A couple years ago Ally was chosen by Capt Jack to be in the pirate turorial and she very politely said, "no thank you." I was like.... :scared1: Then I started jumping up and down and yelling, "pick me Capt Jack, pick me!" OK, so not really..... but I wanted to! :rotfl2: We had our pics taken with him at the Pirate and Princess party in 2008, and he was dead on for Johnny Depp..... oh, be still my heart.....

I had already completed my online check-in, but noticed a thread on the DIS that the online check-in pages have been updated in the last few days.

I logged into the DCL site and my online check-in was still labeled as complete, but when I clicked View or Edit, there was a more detailed online check-in process.

I don't think it's necessary to redo your online check-in if it's already complete, but I went through it all again. The most notable new part was picking from time slots indicating what time you expect to arrive at port. Some people on the thread I read are all worried about what the arrival time slots really mean. The printable contract was also a slightly different format and it had a bar code now, so I printed it again.

We're all dressing up too! :woohoo: My avatar shows my kids pirate costumes. Just bought a little bit of stuff from Etsy and already had some.

We have a DS who is 8 and another one who is 5. When I completed their on-line registration, one was eligible for Oceaneer Club and the other Oceaneer Lab. My unerstanding was that they could paritcipate in activities in either of the clubs. :confused3 Is this true or will they be restricted by age?

Thanks

That is what I have read also - that they can go to both.

We got our fish extender in the mail today! Only 44 days to go!!

I would love to meet everyone. Are we going to do a DIS meet? I have read that most groups do one in the afternoon on the first day - before the muster drill.

Here is a picture of the FE.

A DIS meet sounds like fun! Any idea where the typical meeting spot is? The main lobby?

I have read that the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 is a good place to meet. I guess it does not get used much the first afternoon and other groups have had a good time there.
