I have a good news, bad news post. . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . .





Let's start with good news:

That is that Bobby and I will no longer be working together! He is quiting as IT Administrator for Boone County! Which is in county government at our local courthouse where I also work, in the Recorder's Office. And he has gotten a new IT position with the Iowa Dept of Transportation (aka IA DOT), which is working for the State. Ok, now we didn't really work together, but he did all the computer work for the courthouse, where I work, and it has been troubling at times for us. So, to say the least I am excited. Both for him and for us as a couple. So, we are both doing the happy dance.



The sad news is. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .




No, we are not cancelling our March cruise but we are going to be cancelling our Christmas cruise in December. With him starting a new job we just cannot justify taking a two week vacation during the holidays. But he did tell them about our October vacation already, our reservations being all booked, plane tickets purchased, accomodations being made, etc. and they said that they would work with him for that. Thank goodness. Because I don't think we could stand not going to F&W fest and Halloween at Disney!

So that is our exciting news for the week.

Congrats to Bob on the new opportunity. Sorry to hear about the Christmas cruise, but I'm so happy you didn't cancel this one. It just wouldn't be the same without you!

How exciting!

I got some good news (but not as good as Sue's)

My company is being bought out by Ericsson. I'll be picking up another vacation day, 2 floating holidays (more cruising/WDW time) and a day off for volunteering Also more job security and an employee stock purchase plan, matched 100% by the company

On a sad note, it will officially mean the end of Bell Labs

Great news on the job security and more vacation time!

We are supposed to start getting the PM thunderstorms....

Two days of rain in our forecast, hopefully not the storms that hit Mark and Mary

I hope neither of you get what rolled through here last night. We're still without power at home. Came in work early so I could catch up.
