Dianne - :cheer2: Congrats on the weight loss. You are doing great.:thumbsup2

I am sure the wedding plans are keeping you very busy.

Hello Everyone! Any plans for the 4th?

Mary - You and Mark will be getting ready for the cruise. Can't wait to hear all about it. Safe travles.

Dianne congrats on the weight loss.

Thanks all for the feedback on the hotels. How's the commute from Port Orleans to the different parks?

I am thinking of catching the local fireworks at a near by Jefferson Barracks Park friday, not sure about the rest of the week. I may go to the very large celebration downtown, called Fair St Louis, it is one of the largest july 4th celebrations in the country, always a good time!:):cool1:

Good Wednesday Morning All!

Boy will I be glad when we get through this week. It has been a doozie here at work. So a three day weekend is looking really good.

We are having a party at our house on Saturday afternoon. Family and friends coming over to go swimming and then eat. Then my cousins, who love the 4th of July better than Christmas, do the entertainment when it gets dark. And they do an excellent job. :thumbsup2

Just giving some input here.... We stayed at Port Orleans and loved it. In fact, that was the year we joined DVC (1999). The lovely boat ride to DT was always relaxing and we'd just walk out front and hop on a bus for anywhere else we wanted to go.

Our neighbors are having a party on Sunday and of course that's the day we are supposed to have the worst heat and humidity and chance of storms. Hopefully it will be okay as they have a lot of people coming. We don't have any other plans for the weekend, except hopefully some relaxing. DH will be coming home tonight from CA. He's psyched, though, they were able to get on a plane (stand by) 7 hours earlier than anticipated!

As a side note, NJPrincess, since you are "Kathy in NJ".....I guess I need to be "Kathy on LI" so as to avoid confusion. ;)

Well, technically, I'm Kathy from LI too. :) I was born in Rockville Centre, grew up in Levittown & Syosset. I lived on LI until I was 25.

But now I'm Kathy from NJ :rolleyes1

Well, then, technically.....I guess I'm Kathy from CT as I was born in Greenwich and raised in Darien until we moved to Laurel Hollow/Cold Spring Harbor, LI when I was in 5th grade. Have lived here ever since and oh my gosh, that's more years than I have fingers and toes. :rotfl: (we merely moved further and further east and actually joked at the rate we were going, we'd be living in Plum Gutt if we kept moving. Luckily we stopped in the Hamptons.)

Too funny :lmao: We lived on Cold Spring Rd., right on the border of Syosset/Woodbury. So you live in the Hamptons now?

My brother lives in Greenwich (actually Riverside). He's usually my cruise buddy but, unfortunately, he can't make this cruise.

Holy crap.....I probably went by your house ALL the time. We lived on Woodvale Drive and the bus used to go to Cherry Lane and turn around. Half of Cherry Lane was in the CSH school district, the other half was Syosset SD. A lot of times I'd cut through the woods and go to a Cherry Lane bus-stop in high school, just so I could sneak into a pair of jeans. My parents believed you had to wear only a skirt or dress if you were female. Didn't sit well with me, so I'd change in the woods. :lmao: I guess if that was the worst thing I did throughout high school, I was doing okay.

Yes, we are in Hampton Bays (the "working man's Hamptons"). Apparently our sole purpose is to be here to serve the citi-its who invade us every summer.

Awww, thanks Mary. I will miss him too :sad1: But I really want to see you guys :grouphug:

Yes, you probably did. We were at the intersection where Syosset/Woodbury Rd. split off from Cold Spring Rd., across the street from the pond. I went to Holy Trinity and my bus used to do a pick up on Cherry Lane as well.

The only time we ever went anywhere near the Hamptons was in the fall/winter :lmao: It was Jones Beach for us :thumbsup2

Same here Kathy! I'm super excited to get to cruise with you again, but we'll miss Frank. Though I totally understand why he can't join us as he'll be super busy. :grouphug:

We took the Amtrak Cascades in the other direction, from Vancouver to Seattle. It was AWESOME! The scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed the low stress nature of the train. There is free wifi access and the food was pretty good (I had a caesar salad with chicken) and we actually arrived in Seattle 5 minutes early.

Wow Dave, that is a busy month. Hope your oldest daughter has a great trip to DC/NYC. I know me and my oldest had a fun but exhausting trip when we went in April, but our trip was only for a week. And hope your youngest will have fun too.

Can't wait to hear how your Alaska cruise is. Been looking at Ellen's photos from the cruise thread and Alaska looks so beautiful. She has done an excellent job, as always, sharing her awesome photos with everyone. :thumbsup2

Take Care!

We're offffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff to the Yankee game!!!! Tickets "fell" into our hands.....finally get to see the new Stadium!!!!!:cheer2::banana::cheer2::banana:
