Sue, Ok I just have to ask do you live at a camp or does your DH run a camp?

I am just a little confused:confused3

Just curious from some of youe past coments.

NEWS FLASH !!!

Dustin just got his very first deer! :yay: (Sorry to anyone who does not like hunting) He got a nice size doe, apparently. He just called to say he got it, and boy, can you hear the excitement in his voice. He says he's still shaking a little for the rush! Guess I better make some room in the freezer for the venison that will soon be on it's way! :woohoo:

Congrats Dustin!:thumbsup2

Right now, he just works at a Girl Scout camp that is about a 30-minute drive from home. Normally speaking, the ranger (DH's job title) lives right on the property to watch over things and be on-call 24/7. But when this position opened up a little over two years ago, the guy who was the ranger at this camp and had been there for about 11 years, had really just gotten a promotion (when the council merged with two other councils) so that he oversees all of the camps (5 in all) as facilities manager. But when he did that, he made a deal to stay in the house. He says he has plans on getting another house, but we won't hold our breathe!

When we were first married, and where I met him, was at a Boy Scout Camp, where he was the ranger. We DID live on property for that one for about 11 years (he had been there 14). But when the Boy Scouts merged two councils together, there was some ugly politics happening, and we finally had a "parting of the ways". I loved living at the camp! It was peaceful, mot of the time, and there was just something cool about being there! I hope we get to live at this camp sometime in the future.

Congrats Dustin!:thumbsup2

Thanks Flo! Venison stew, anyone!

Congrats to Dustin!

Sue - I can see where living at the camp could be very nice.

Michael - have fun with the leaves. I think ours are all done now.

Wow, sounds like a great job, I love our camps here, But have not been in scouts over 10 years now...I camped at both the boy and girls camps, although the Girls camp was a little like going to a resort...

Oh yes, the girl scouts have many more "facilities" at their camps. More actual toilets and indoor cabins - we refer to it as Camp Beverly Hills!

My girls loved going to the girl scout camp around here. The bonus was it is only 5 mintues away from our house. :thumbsup2

Getting the girls to rough it was a real challenge most of the time I felt we were doing slumber parties

:rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2: I know what you mean

I think it's even funnier when the girls complain about there being so many bugs! You're in the @%$# woods, for heaven's sake!! I guess it may be a good thing that I didn't have girls, but oh brother, they do take me by surprise sometimes! :rotfl:

Pepsi all gone. Need to go to store to get more.

Having withdrawls. . . . . .:rolleyes1

My girls did pretty good. Only Becca got posion ivy really bad one year.

I mean it was so bad that they really should have called me.

And it is getting so close.

Could it possibly be?
