*March 2025 Check-in Thread*

I'll be there with my son and mom March 13th-17th! This has become a more last minute trip since we just recently found 3 round trip Southwest tickets to LGB for $300 total! My parents raised me at Disneyland, and I was blessed to be an AP family from birth practically til I turned 15. While this will be my 2 year old's third trip, my mom hasn't been to the parks in over 8 years, and I'm so excited to see her experience the park with both her daughter and grandson! It's also the last trip before baby brother will be born (I'll be close to 7 months pregnant while we're there 🤭) and it'll be my son's last trip before he turns 3 and we have to pay for his ticket.

Wow

We're flying from Denver. Tickets are usually the same price for us, but I've found that checking frequently about a month/two months out from a general date range helps in finding deals. For a few days prices dropped from $160 each way down to $80. They also had a deal going on where you could buy points for half off, so I was able to buy the extra points I needed (I had about half already saved up) and that made the ticket price drop down to $50 each way for me.
I feel like I'm constantly checking my southwest app for the possibility of deals, but so far it's paid off!

Date change for us, decided to miss the kids discount ticket week and come the next week instead. We will be there the 24-26. We think it'll be a bit less busy based on hotel pricing/availability.

I’ll be there a few days the week of March 3. While spring break in Oregon where we live is at the end of March, our middle daughter is in college in Southern California and her break is the week of the third. I got a ticket using very few miles on SW and a last minute rental of a timeshare unit in Oceanside. She and her roomie will join me for part of her break-beach time!-and I’ll get a chance to use my MK at least once or twice.

We will be going to Disneyland for 1 day on Wednesday, March 19 with our two kiddos who are on Canadian Spring Break 🐭Staying at HOJO. Based on hotel prices for this week looks like park will be absolutely packed. I’ve never seen hotel prices this high before (and I’ve gone during Christmas Holidays). The $50 kid ticket prices aren’t worth it when you look at hotel prices. A lot of ride closures in both parks which is surprising to be doing during peak Spring Break season 😮 Still excited, just haven’t manage expectations of how much we will get done 🤗

I feel the same about all the refurbishments and lack of entertainment the week we are going. Spring Break starts early in the sunbelt states and I'm a little disappointed that Fantasmic! and the DL Park fireworks are only on Friday. I know that DL is technically a locals park, but still.

Are you from BC as well? We are from Vancouver, flying down on the 17th from Seattle with our two teens. Our Disneyland day is also the 19th 😍 (doing DCA on the 18th and Universal on the 21st, the 20th is our down day). I'm bummed about so many closures but it's not like it's our first time so for us, we are concentrating on a few certain rides and the rest is gravy 😎

Oh my gosh too funny we are from Vancouver as well and are also flying out of Seattle (prices from YVR were crazy) but on March 18. Just doing Disneyland for 1 day on March 19 and then doing a cruise out of Long Beach.

Oh that's too funny! This is our first time flying FROM Seattle (we have connected through SeaTac before). The prices from YVR were horrendous for our dates. Enjoy your cruise after the park 🥰

I didn't find the hotels terrible. Last year we paid close to $350/night (with taxes). This year we're staying at a different hotel for around $289/night. We're doing one night at DLH and it's about $100 less than last year. Maybe I'm numb to the prices at this point.

I'm a spreadsheet person so I know exactly how much I spent on my 2019 trip, not just total, but per category. We are actually spending one extra day in the parks this time around and so far, not spending that much more. Some things have definitely gotten more expensive (park tickets!) but others have not.

When did you book? If you look now basic hotels are going for $1000CAD/night!! Did they extend the $50 kid tickets into March more recently? I think Canadians have hopped on that because it is out Spring Break and the last week the deal is offered. Maybe that recently really increased hotel prices. Hotels near DL looks pretty much totally sold out around March 17-20. There's also a large electronics expo going on that week. The following week hotels are much cheaper.

Another fellow BC-er here. We were originally going to go the week of the 17th, but saw how booked up the hotels were and decided to switch to the week of the 24th. The $50 kids deal vs. the extra pricey hotels basically balanced out to more expensive tickets, but cheaper hotels the next week.

Yes, I think you are wise to do that! Likely much lower crowds the second week

Heads up for the very last weekend of March! There’s both a showstoppers dance completion AND a band/choir/orchestra festival taking place that weekend. I know my kiddo’s music groups will be in the parks on the 29th (I heard Disney and immediately signed on to chaperone 🤣), not sure how many total students are participating but definitely expect more teens running around than a usual weekend!

We booked mid October. In 2023 I booked in August (for March 2024) and was already too late for places (thanks to the Natural Products Expo). This year I wanted more nights at DLH but when I looked at the per night breakdown, some nights got really pricey. In the end, my kids do not care where they sleep because they fall asleep as soon as we get back to the room. I feel for you Canadians. That exchange rate is brutal.
