March 2011, Who Is Planning?

anybody know about the said topics and when they are there...do they usually stay at all stars or at both (pop)---POP is our Disney home ...lol:rotfl2:

Have just finished finalizing some of our plans! Are heading down from 3/25 to 4/2. Myself, DH, 18 yo DD, and her BFF. BFF is from California and this will be her very first Florida/Disney World trip. Have our dinner reservations for Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier along with a 2 bdrm 2 ba condo at Bonnet Creek booked and air fare (ugh, that was painful). Can't even remember what number trip we are on, but you would think it is our first, we are all so excited! :banana:

I am booked. :cool1::thumbsup2:banana::dance3::yay:

Pop Warner is in December, cheer championships are late January. Disney's marketing to those types of groups is generally concentrated in slower seasons to fill rooms, and I don't know of any similar events that happen in March. Those kind of events happen at the same time every year, and Disney wants March open for spring breakers in years when Easter falls earlier.

Last I heard Disney books groups at the All-Stars but not Pop, to leave one value resort more open for families and non-group guests. Pop Warner is at the All Stars with the overflow at one of the moderates, and no other group even comes close to them in size of on-site presence because PW is the only youth sports event that is required by their agreement with Disney to stay onsite. We have friends who have taken kids to compete at WWoS for basketball and soccer events, but their teams rent houses off-site to save money on lodging and meals.

Well, if the volume of posts on this thread is any indication it should be downright dead! :rotfl:

We just added a night and decided on <gulp> Pop Century, at my 9yo's request. We've never stayed value before, but this means getting to see the Tigers play the Braves in Spring Training so I'm willing to give it a shot!

Anyone else thrown for a planning loop by the apparent move of ESPN the Weekend from Feb to the first weekend in March? I'm not sure what to do with my DHS day with that going on!

Hi, We were in Disney the last week of August celebrating our daughters marriage and our 30th anniversary. We stayed at the Beach Club and did not enjoy it at all. I could go on and on but, let's just say everything went wrong that could go wrong!!!! We have been staying at Disney hotels since 1971 and have never had such a terrible experience. We ended up leaving very disappointed.
Anyway, we received a call from Disney after I got home and they have offered us 2 free nights at the Grand Floridian. I think that will be the first week of March. Now we need to wait to see if there will be some type of a discount for rooms so we can stay more than 2 nights. Hope so.

:hippie:We will be at Music March 7th-12th and are so excited this will be our 6th trip with our 5 year old daughter! We have never been to the Waterparks since we are usually at the World in winter months. Does anyone have any advice regarding thoughts on the water parks in March (too cold for such or fun time?) Thanks in advance for any advice!!

its really hard to say about weather in March, I would play it by ear, you can add on the WP to your tickets after you get there or just buy for the day you want to go!

thanks for your response!! I'm going to cross my fingers for warm March weather!! Thanks again--

We are going on March 25- until April 1st!! We can't wait!! Staying offsite for a little bit, and then a couple nights at Bay Lake Tower!:lovestruc

Count me in! :rotfl: We just got back this past Saturday from a wonderful week long camping trip with the whole family, but in March it will be just me and hubby! :cool1: We will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary 3/13-16/10. :love: I don't know where we will be staying yet, as I am waiting to see what kind of passholder discounts they come out with for that time frame, but really hope to stay at the Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We are going too - me, DH, DD6, DS4, and DS4. Will be there 3/4-3/13 staying at the Poly. We're going to be celebrating our twins 5th bday on 3/11 and also DD's 7th (her actual bday is 4/9 but we didn't want her to feel left out). Just bought our plane tickets last night!!

My fiance and I are going to be at the Poly from March 28th to April 5 celebrating our honeymoon! I've planned more for the honeymoon than the wedding at this point thanks to all the awesome info here on the DIS!
