Hey gang! Getting so excited –only 55 days left! I have updated the first page of this thread with every thing I have gleaned on the thread and through the PMs. If you sent me a PM with your cabin number I did not post it on the first page. I will include it in the handout at our meet but I am assuming you do not want it published if you sent it in a PM. I can add or delete any information – just let me know!
Some of our gang is asking about FE’s. I love participating in them as a great way to get excited and to have fun on board. If you want more information – this is a good place to start.

So far this is what I understand:
FE group – cut off 30 days before cruise – so by February 19.
Meet: We will meet in the Promenade Lounge 3PM on Saturday 3/19
Group activity: Quest – usually first night This is a team contest /activity – last time I did it – it was a family thing – I understand they have an adult one also – should we do both?
How about we meet at the first karaoke night?
Other things to consider….
Any one want to meet the night before the cruise? This is great for those coming from out of town as well as locals. There is a restaurant at the beach where we can see the port – lots of people go there when the cruise is leaving and wave! Or a Downtown Disney meet?
Do we want to have our own Lanyards made? One person can take this on and the rest would pay the costs for the lanyards. I have heard of this on other cruises and hit is a good way to identify each other during the cruise.
Does anyone want to bring an activity for the kids to do during the first meet? It really helps them start to bond. Last couple of cruises I brought those foam hats and cup holders along with foam letters and shapes and the kids decorated them. Other times I brought crowns and swords for the boys. I have also printed out coloring pages and brought crayons for the younger set.
We could have one room be our central meeting place – the person in that room can keep some paper on the front door where we can arrange meets during the week and leave room changes/info for others. This works best if we pick the person with the most centrally located room.
Matching t-shirts?
Note to those that are new. There are lots of things happening the first day on board. If you have not done a meet before, you may get on board and think that you will be uncomfortable or be the odd one out. Please come. It is a very welcoming environment and from personal experience, you miss out on so much if you skip it. My first cruise I decided not to go because I thought it would be weird and my husband did not want to go. On my second cruise I insisted my family go and what a wonderful way to meet like-minded folks. Some of those on the meet I hardly saw the whole cruise, but there was always a smile. Others became friends. We threw cabin parties before dinner, went to shows together, danced and won contests together. I am still friends with many today. The great thing about the meet is you can go and then figure out if and whom you may want to spend more time with. If you don’t click with anyone – that is okay. I noticed my daughter, who is extremely shy (you would not know it because she really works at hiding it) has a much better time on board. Everywhere she goes, she runs into kids she met during the meet.
The Promenade lounge has a bar and a small dance floor. There are tables and chairs on both sides of the dance floor and a long walkway with round windows on the side. I will sit at the table that is closest to the bar and dance floor. If you are not sure what to do, just come up and ask if I am Absybabsy or Amanda. I will have our group list and a big smile ready. I will also post a pic of myself on this site before the cruise. Please don’t be shy; I cannot wait to meet everyone.
