My family will be on the Disney Magic in a couple of weeks and I JUST found out about the FE and the FE Exchange.

I understand that it is too late to get into the organized FE exchange through this forum - does anyone ever do anything on their own or does it kind of have to go through what has already been put together? Even if we're not involved in the exchange, I still want to buy a FE because I think they are adorable!

I wish I would have dug a little deeper and found this site sooner! I have a lot to go through to catch up!

Hi ky&addsmom - there is still plenty of fun to be had - welcome and please join us at our meet. it will be a great chance for us to all get to know each other and if you have kids (Ky & Addy?) they will get a chance to find friends right away - from experience, it makes the whole trip better for them. I am updating your name on post #6 on the first page of this thread. Please let me know if you want me to add any additional info. I will also have a bunch of copies of the spreadsheet list that will have lots more info (names, cabin numbers, some dining times, specialty dining that others have picked). Wow that was a lot of reading. We'll be sailing with everybody as well. It will be myself, my gf, and my 10 year old son. We've got a balcony room on Deck 7. We are super excited and can't wait!

Hi Tom- this is our first Disney Cruise and we are on Deck 7 too! it will be me, my husband Phil and our 8 year old son Jeremy!

Thanks Absybabsy! It will be me, DH, DS (11) and DD (8). First time cruise for the kids - first time Disney cruise for me and DH. We will try to make it to the meet - I think it would be great for the kids. SO excited!

I like the hidden mickey search idea too! Jeremy is 8 and as long as i know he's with others that know the ship well... it's our first cruise and i really don't know what to expect - but we are all SO ready for this!! i feel disorganized though. i have stuff laying out everywhere so i don't forget to pack it. i should just go ahead and start packing! we're in chicago, so it's not like i need any of our summer clothes now! we're flying out next friday morning and stay at all-star movies for one night. we're hoping to go to MK for a while and EPCOT for extra magic hours! i think getting exhausted will be the only way any of us will sleep that night! LOL

Last week we had 60 degrees and then snow the next day. RIDICULOUS!

Since I'm new to all of this, can someone tell me what kinds of gifts people have done for FEs? with Jeremy having pneumonia now, i'm looking for something quick and easy... and i still have to make my FE for the door. headed out to Michael's this weekend!!

Hi! I'm new to this, too, but I read up a lot on FE's and gifts and I think the answer is: you can do whatever you want! Some quick ideas:
For kids- prepackaged candy/snacks, dollar spot items from Target, pirate stuff, bookmarks.

Adult gifts- mini air freshners for the stateroom, magnets, homemade music CD's, fun sweet treats, misc travel size stuff.

I know it's a lot to think about in a short time, but try to have fun with it!! Good luck!

1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7th night is Cruise Casual
3rd Night is Formal (Prince and Princess night)
5th night is Pirate Night
6th is Semi-Formal

thanks for asking. he's still home from school, fever doesn't want to give, and coughing up a storm. doc said that once he's on antibiotics about 3 days, we should see a difference. that's tomorrow. so i'm hoping... poor guy - he usually never gets sick.
