March 17, 2013 - 4 Night Bahamian Cruise

Can't say we're much beach ppl either ....but we are going to Atlantis just to see it, but we are waiting until the 3 day. Heard from one of the Cast Members on another cruise it's not to be missed. Not sure what we're doing on CC, probably just going in to mail some postcards and walk around a bit. Will probably go down to Serenity Bay since we don't have kids this time.

My DH did the parasailing on CC one year, he said it was quite the experience (I'm too chicken, I don't like rollercoasters either!)....he always tells everyone to be sure to do the "dip".

Thinking about using stairs.....but my bad knee limits me on what I can/can't do, so we'll see. If it's not giving me fits, I can handle it!

This will be our first cruise cause my DH gets seasick on smaller vessels so never wanted to try a cruise before. I had to wait till our 20th Anniversary to con him into this!

I've heard mixed reviews of Atlantis recently but my DS really wants to do the water park and since we couldn't get a cabana on CC, I decided to spend the money doing that.

I love anything that moves except spinning in a circle! My DS is the chicken, I asked if he wanted to go with and he said NO!!! We were in North Carolina and they had a circus event at a museum where you could do the tight rope walking. He wouldn't do that but my DH took some cool pictures of me!

I understand about the knees, mine make lots of noise but thankfully no pain yet. I just have to keep moving and keep losing weight and I should be able to avoid any problems as I get older.

I've been reading the threads on the home made FE gifts and planning on "borrowing" some ideas. There are some really talented people on the boards!

If you want to also look at some other good FE ideas, there's a FB group - it's called FISH EXTENDER DISNEY CRUISE LINE (it's a closed group, so you'd have to ask to join, but that's just to keep the ads and spam from being posted there) - they are a great bunch of ppl and have some really fab ideas, lots of pics and helpful on where to get stuff or tutorials on how stuff is done.

For us (MsGrandma and DGD)-our names are Heidi (I'm the grandma) and Mariah. Mariah is 10. This is our second cruise. We were on a 7 day last Spring for Spring Break (Eastern Caribbean on the Magic) and loved it-booked this one while on that trip! So excited that it is getting closer!

So, has anyone booked any excursions for the trip? If so, what are you doing (either Bahamas or CC).....

We decided not to book anything specific for Nassau on this trip becuase we are feeling like we just want to relax a bit more and enjoy all the activities on the ship since it is only a 4 day (but 4 is infinitely better than none!). I am sure we'll get off the ship and wander around a bit. For Castaway Cay, we booked the package with the bikes, snorkeling, and the ray thing. We did those last year too-snorkeling was not great, but I want my DGD to get the practice in! We did do parasailing last year on CC (first time for both my DGD and I) and we LOVED it! I was a bit nervous but once we were up in the air it was incredible. Couldn't believe how quickly it was over though! Decided not to book it again-saving some money since we are going to be at WDW for a few days at the end of the cruise.

We've not booked anything for this cruise, but we'll be on-board another 3 days after this and that's when we're going into Nassau. DH wants to do the parasailing again......and he can have at it - you are a braver woman than I! Did you opt to do the dip?

Yes, we did the DIP....though we were the first on our boat to go up, and since I was, at 48, undoubtedly the oldest in our group, accompanied by the youngest in our group (Mariah was 9 then) our dip was fairly gentle. There were a couple of guys in our group that had done it before, and the crew really dipped them-they were also the last to go, so I guess they figured that no one else would chicken out after they saw them! It was very, very fun though-although I'll admit my heart was racing as we were heading up!

Has anyone heard anything more from Snoopy In Iowa or Angela911? I've not heard confirmation from either of them about the FE, and it looks from their profiles that the only post they ever made was on this thread - two for Snoopy and one for Angela......

I also don't have cabin numbers for either of them.....

If you know how to get in touch with either of them, please tell them to confirm or cancel?
