March 17, 2013 - 4 Night Bahamian Cruise

It is weird, isn't it??? I am surprised no one else has joined in yet, bug I guess we are still a long way off from our cruise date! Hope you had a nice trip to Scandinavia!!!

Had an awesome time, thanks! Got to see some things we've never seen before (DH family lives in Sweden, so we get there about every other year).....kids had a great time re-connecting with family and friends.

Even though we're a long way off, we have two more cruises booked in 2013 - the EBTA and also the week after in the Med. They are active threads, so wondering if there won't be a whole lot of DISers on this one.......but if that's the way it works, that's fine with me too - since we'll be alone (no kids) for the first time on a cruise we are planning on kicking back and relaxing a WHOLE BUNCH

This will be our 3rd DC, but it'll be almost 10 years since our last cruise by the time we sail. It will be me, my husband, our 3 kids kids (17, 8 and 2) and my mother in law. We would love to be part of the FE! I think the kids would LOVE it! Looking forward to it! I'll keep checking back as we get closer! Anyone a DVC member??

Yes, some say it's not smart to use points to cruise - but where else can you use your points to pay for all your food? I think it's a great deal if you can swing it.........plus you get some extra goodies if you cruise on your points (although on the last cruise, I think DVC has gotten a bit "cheap" - cruise before last, we got a really nice wooden box, this one we got a cardboard one!) - oh, well, can't complain too much - we had an awesome cruise with all our friends from the DIS

Yahoo! Booked mine and DH flight today, and also the kids (but they are going the other direction to visit GMA and GPA) - managed to get them out the day before we leave, and then we come back an hour apart (we land first) - that's a major plus, as we drive almost three hours to the nearest airport......

Also got our limo booked to/from cruise line, it's actually about the same price as a DCL Transfer.

This makes it seem that much closer and I am getting EXCITED! As fast as summer went and this month has gone, this trip will be here before we know it.....

So, come on cruisin' time! We're ready now!

Good Morning Fellow Spring Break Cruisers!

Been a while since I have been on and thought I would check in. We spent last weekend down in Florida and had a great time. Will be back down again in 52 days for Food & Wine Fest at Epcot. Can't wait for that.

We are also DVC members but are not cruising on points. We have been members since 2005 and own at SSR and BLT. Love both of these resorts. I think my favorite though is the Boardwalk. Wish we owned there!

We have been looking at airfare but man is it high! We can drive for less but it is a 23 hour drive time trip for us. So my DH keeps checking but for now it looks like we will be driving. And there will be four of us. Our daughters, 19 and 17 will be with us.

It will be me my DH and DS who is 12. We are in cabin 6094. I would love to do the FE thing as it sounds like a ton of fun. -Monica

Glad to have you with us! My mom also gets motion sick, but she SWEARS by those wrist bands that you wear that vibrate.......hopefully DH won't be too bad as Disney Cruises are AWESOME!

I've added you to the FE list. When we get closer to the cruise (maybe a couple of months out) I'll be contacting everyone on the list to confirm participation and having them double-check my input.

Good Morning fellow Spring Break Cruisers.

Yes, this thread is pretty quiet compared to others but hey, we will get there. We have been DVC members since 2005 and love it! We are not cruising on points as we go to WDW 4-5 times a year and use our points there.

And we will be heading back to WDW here in 17 days. No cruise this time just going down for MNSSHP and F&W Fest! This is our favorite time to go and have gone down for the past 7 years during this time frame. We will be staying at SSR in a Grand Villa because we have friends who join us. Love being able to share with them.

So, anyone else have any trips planned before March?

Yep, we're taking the whole family down for Thanksgiving Week. There will be all five kids (age from 27 to 9), four grand-kids and DH and myself - we are staying in BLT in the 3 bedroom villa - can't wait! Just hope the weather is nice enough to use the pool, because that pool is pretty awesome.

I wish we could go before we cruise but not in the cards for us. I wanted to get to DL for the Halloween festivities but my DS fall break and mine did not match up this year. Then I injured my knee and had to take a full week off work. I am a school based physical therapist so am on my feet all day which is not good for sore and swollen knees. So no more time off for me until winter break. Unfortunately, it is so busy at that time in DL that I don't like to fight the crowds. Still looking for good air fair for the March trip.

Planning on it - and thank you! I will be sure to let you know about the Grand Villa, it looks like it will be AWESOME! If we're lucky we'll have a MK view, but not sure - looking over the lake is great too, and seeing the fireworks from the top is one of the best things about staying there.......don't have to fight the crowds in MK to see one of the best FW displays in the whole park.

Making last minute arrangements for a rental car for a day and also Magical Express. Now to just get the packing started.......a little over two weeks and we are outta here!

Yes, good airfare is hard to find on Spring Break week. We kind of got lucky with Southwest Air as we knew to watch. But now it looks like most of their flights on the needed days are already sold out. Good luck!

Did not get to eat at Be Our Guest but did have one of the frozen cider drinks (LeFrou's brew or something like that) at Gaston's tavern-it was really good!

Also completed my first half-marathon (the wine and dine) while there- so it was an exhausting but really fun trip. Am looking forward to the more relaxed pace of the cruise in March, and to meeting all of you!

Sounds like a fun time! When we were down at WDW in October we got to go into the New Fantasyland too! We only did the Ariel ride, which was really cute, and our daughter got one of LeFou's Brew's and really liked it. Can't wait to see all of the New Fantasyland when it is done.

And congrats on completing your first half-marathon. That is great.

And I am looking so forward to our cruise. I just want to sit on deck and watch the waves go by. I think cruising is my most favorite way to vacation any more. Ahhhhhh. But first we have a trip to Florida planned in January. Just me and my DH. Looking forward to that too!

Hi Y'all - now that the holidays are just about over, it's time for me to start working again on the FE list - if you are interested in participating, please PM me - I promise that I'll be better about checking them from now on since all of the family is gone, holidays are over and it's back to the grindstone! LOL!

I do believe that everyone who has wanted to participate in the FE List has been added to my spreadsheet. How do you feel about having the link to the list posted here? I have it stored on Google Drive (used to be Google Docs) and would post the link if no one had an issue with that.

The other option would be for me to PM each of you with the link individually so you can verify your information.

So far, we have 8 families participating or tentatively participating in the FE with a total of 29 people. I would like to set the cutoff no later than the end of the month to let everyone get an idea of how many FE gifts they will need.

Any comments, questions, suggestions?
