March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

I'm afraid I have a bit of sad news. We are going to have to cancel this cruise. I really hate this. As I was telling Denise this afternoon, we have never outright canceled a cruise before, we have always re-booked a different date. It is not to be this time. Our decision is somewhat financial, but other factors weighed into the decision also. I was just hoping we could get it worked out before December 28th. We still have one booked for October so hopefully we will be able to make that one. I am trying to get "the list" in order so someone can take it over with out a lot of trouble. Is there anyone interested in taking over the list? I will send you everything you need. Hope you all don't mind if I hang around the board. I hope you all have a great trip and I can't wait to hear about it!!

Allen, I am sooo sad to hear this. I was excited to cruise with you again and I know you were very much looking forward to it! It's hard to make the "mature" decision isn't it.

Got our brunch and dinner for Palo! Brunch in my opinion is the one not to miss...I still have pleasant dreams of that wonderful set up. I cannot wait to partake again...

We will go under 100 days till cruising this week - somehow that psychological barrier is a nice hurdle to hop.

It sounds like Dec 13th is for all first timers? Is that right?

I haven't been monitoring the cruise dates very well....or been on this board in a very long time.

I got on the ball today and booked air and hotel.

Need to Pay in Full soon it looks like.

Platinum and Gold can now book - and the Silver on the 13th of this month. Of course - you have to be PIF to do so as well. I love how Disney dangles that carrot for us!

Sorry to hear you had to back out Allen - that's got to be a heartbreaking call. I too have had to remove myself - but always just moved something - never an outright cancellation. That must hurt. But you haev October!

I was only available to book High Tea for just me. My travel companions have not paid in full yet. I didn't book brunch because I won't do that alone, lol. I did decide to go ahead and book brunch though, I figure I have a table for two so I can add at least one companion. As far as dinner, I won't be able to book that in advance, but once onboard I can add it then. Sorry if I confused anyone, lol. I sent that on my phone, and very late at that, from the airport at Fort Lauderdale as I was waiting for a shuttle...I was on the Allure of the Seas for two days this week on a preview cruise!

Thanks. Yeah, my TA returned my email today. She wasn't very on the ball. We are Gold (7 DCL sailings to date...this one will be # 8) so I need to go ahead and pay in full and book our stuff before the 13th. With the cheap KSF rates, at least there isn't much to pay after the deposit!

Now to figure out what night DH and I want to do Palo. Also going to book our one DCL excursion we have planned, the Cabo Pirate ship. The kids have wanted that one for months and and I think it will fill up quick.
Also may grab a massage time on sea day. I wonder if Palo is already picked over a bit since the rest of the Gold & Platinum have had several days. Regarding Palo brunch...we did that one year and I LOVED it. My DH not as much. He thought it was kind of girly and didn't like the selections nearly as much a Palo dinner.

It was totally amazing. I'm still uploading pictures but when I'm done I'll post a link. I wasn't sad when I got off like I am on the Magic or Wonder, but it really is an amazing ship, and the service was great! Even comparable to Disney and that is a high compliment from me!

Isn't it funny how we get so sad leaving a Disney Cruise? I was on the Rhapsody of the Seas in September, and it was not the same feeling when it was over... The Allure looks wonderful! I cannot wait to see your pictures!!

I really want to book PALO. We have never experienced it before. DH has a chronic disease which prevents him from eating food with any flavor. He eats the modified BRAT diet each day, so PALO might be on the no no list. What do you think? Will they make chicken plain to order? I know some chefs can get offended by asking such requests, so we have never tried. We "want" to but it is ify. How is the food at Palo?

Palo is awesome, and very accomodating. I'm sure if you explained to them right off the bat that your husband has a condition that needs to be taken into consideration, they will do all they can to meet that need. One of the best things about Palo is the service!

Dinner is easier for that than brunch...a lot of stuff at brunch is pre prepared.

I just paid in full so looking forward to Monday to make some reservations. I think we may only be doing one ship excursion. My ds is too young for the Disney zipline excursion so we will need to book that on our own. I am also looking into Randi's Happy Horses for Mazatlan. I emailed Randi but have not heard back. Has anyone else had that problem? For those that have booked Palos, are there some brunch spaces still open? That is all I am looking for. I enjoyed dinner the last cruise but not so much to miss dinner with the kids and in the dining room. We REALLY enjoyed brunch though.

I have personally emailed her 4 times. Scattered over the last several months. Never have heard a reply. I also check Spam folder regularly so I know it didn't go there. I thought maybe it was my Yahoo email that was the problem so I sent it from my GMail. Still no reply. I asked DH to send a reservation request. No reply. We are so crossing her off our list, although it sounds fun. Plus when I looked her up on Trip Advisor she had some great reviews but one also talking about her unprofessionalism and temper. Between that red flag and especially the total lack of customer service...well lack of response period...Not someone I plan to do business with.

Well doing the HAPPY DANCE because we finally paid in full today! Yipee!:

We also recently booked our roundtrip air and our hotel for the night Prior. Raddison San Pedro.

Now with it PIF it seems so real! About 3 months away. Woot!

So anyway, I jumped on Disney's website and did all of our bookings. Good news for all your Silvers. As of today, 12/11 EVERYTHING is wide open. For Palo dinner..all days. For Brunch...all sea days. We ended up booking Palo dinner for Cabo night when it is Semi-Formal. I booked Palo brunch for the 2nd sea day.

Spa was wide open too. I booked the Elemis Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap with Half Body Massage for first sea day.

Excursions were wide open. I booked our family on the Pirate Snorkel and Treasure Hunt Fantasy in Cabo. Looks perfect. That is the only DCL sponsored excursion we plan to do. In Matzalan we want to go to Stone Island and hopefully see the cliff divers too. I'll post a seperate post on that one. In Puerto Vallarta we are planning to taxi over to an all inclusive. Looks like it will be Dreams PV. Fun! Our two kids and I KNOW my DH & I will love this day of relaxation and play.
