March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

Six Flags Magic Mountain! Get your roller coaster fix. Do it the day before sailing, so you are already used to any sea motion that might be encountered. :lmao:

In all our years of driving from NorCal to SoCal, we just pass right on by Magic Mountain. the kids look at it, go 'cool.' and go back to reading, watching a movie or playing with gameboys. When they know your destination is Disneyland, they don't care to stop anywhere else along the way.

MR excursions have been listed for two of our stops....nothing on Cabo yet. But the other two have lots listed!! Time to start planning!

:banana:Our flight to California has been booked. Southwest opened up their flights through March 11. We are flying in on March 10th. We don't have our return trip booked yet...maybe we will just stay ;)

The kids are back in school. That is making the days go really fast. Lots of activities. Weekends are so short now. Wishing for our cruise to get here!

): Baaaad news. We are mostlikely going to have to change our cruise do to my high school! They are really strict and give you massive amounts of homework for missing school :\ And for p.e. you have to run 1 mile and do 10 pushups for each day you are gone. So that would be, like, 7 miles. Lol

It was nice meeting you guys (: I hope you guys have fun!
xoxoxox jennah (:

Well that sucks. Are you going to be able to go earlier or later? Or not at all?

There is a teen excursion listed for Cabo....Teen Surfin' Safari...are there any teens that are going to do this? My 14 yr old dd wants to do this. She has started saving her money for this excursion! I am not real thrilled about her going off in Mexico w/o me.....but I am sure they will be closely surpervised, right??

I am very tempted to let DDalmost16 do it...I'm going to show it to her and see what she thinks. If mine decides to do it there will probably be another 5 or 6 15 and 16 year old girls doing it...I'll let you know!

Great!! My dd will be almost 15 when we cruise. She will happy to know that some other girls might be doing it as well. Keep me posted. This is one excursion that we will book as soon as possible! I think we can start booking ours on Dec 13

I can't remember, but when you book your excursion DCL they don't charge your card right away do they? Carnival Cruise line charges your card as soon as you book your excursions, even if it is months before your cruise.

No, they don't charge you until you are onboard.

Then, I will book my excursions...add up my total, order a Disney Gift Card in that amout, charge it to my Disney Visa & get Disney Dollars to apply to my OBC. I think that sounds great~

I really didn't want to spend a ton on excursions, but I have been promising my dd's that we would zipline on one of our cruises and we haven't done it yet....better to do it with DCL I guess!

I know what you mean, I wasn't planning on doing many excursions either...but:). I want to do whale watching really bad, I found a good one outside of DCL. And Ziplining. I think I'll have excursions for all three ports because I am not comfortable in foreign ports without a specific plan...you should have seen DH and I on our "planned unplanned" day in Corsica, wandering around, trying to figure out what to do. Not for me, I need structure:rotfl:

Yep, structure for me as well. I hate not planning things out. If I haven't been there and don't know where I am going, EVERYONE will be miserable!

I am trying to decide that kind of car to rent in California. We are a party of 6 with probably 10 pieces of luggage. My DH doesn't think we can fit it all in a mini van. He says we need to rent a full size SUV. Big debate going on here about that right now. I say, we will fit because we can put suitcases at our feet for the hour drive to the port. He disagrees! :confused3

I have taken a trip to Zipline in PV - although it was witha private company - at a greatly reduced cost. The jungle outside of the desert area is quite nice and a lot of fun.

Not sure if you've seen this image, but I like it!

MexicoDCL.jpg

I like that! Can I use it on "The List"?

Sure, it is Disney's! I was ordering some collateral and I saw that image, it is actually a poster, but I was able to save just the image. As long as it isn't sold or reproduced for profit, Disney shares:).

Anyone read the new travel warning for Mexico? They are talking about Mazatlan also now. If things don't change, we won't get off the ship at that port. Maybe I worry too much, but I can't help it. I also think I use the travel warning as an excuse so I can stay on the ship. I have never stayed on the ship in a port. I would like too but feel guilty about not getting off and seeing things.

Could very well be why those ports of call have "disappeared" from the itinerary... I'm sure DCL has been in contact with the State Dept. way ahead of this warning. :confused3
