I was surprised at how little I bought at Universal. Maybe it's me being a Disney snob but other than the Harry Potter stuff I really didn't care for any of it. Try a chocolate frog for me.

Thanks!!! The paycheck came but my 5 days of vacation pay were not added so I'm a little right now!!!! The owner said she'd have to look into it when the paystubs arrive in a few days. I told her I'd be checking my email several times a day and listed my phone number as well

Thanks!! I'm not planning on buying a ton at Universal. Since my brother got a lot of things for us in March, we'll see what I end up with. He did get my mom a cool mug when you add hot liquid a special message appears!! He gets a super great discount too so I might cave and get some things!

PACKED AND READY TO GO!!!!!

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!!!!!

I'm very excited about the trip

I normally NEVER get sleep the night before the trip but last night I crashed, got 8 hours of sleep, and was up by 7:30am We'll see how well I sleep tonight since I never seem to sleep the first night at WDW (except in March) .


SCHEDULE:

I thought I would take the time to post the schedule again since it has changed within the past few days.

2 of the biggest changes are that my dad caved the other night and IS RENTING A CAR!!!! We thought instead of putting wear/tear on my brother's car we'd see how much they would cost for the full week. With Dollar (used twice before in Denver and Orlando), we were able to get the car for the whole week at $189 + gas which I think was a great deal so we booked a Full Size. We've booked Full Size the two other times and were given an SUV in Denver and a Minivan in Orlando so we're going to hope for that again!

Another change is that on Saturday, I'm going to check out the apartment/condo place with my friend "S" and after that she is going to let my parents/brother into the parks with her special Main Gate pass which my dad is THRILLED about! He's gotten so used to getting into the parks for free that now that he can't at the drop of the hat he complains

A lot of the schedule has a ton of ???? but I guess that gives you something to look forward to when I come back and report!! I was pretty excited about pool time at POFQ on Saturday after Universal the day before but it looks like a park may take over instead Well at least we won't be looking for things to do that night..I guess..


MORE UPDATES..

YESTERDAY...

My mom checked us in for our SW flights out of Columbus and we are A58, A59, and A60. We didn't pay for the early bird check-in because we're all adults so if we don't all sit together, it's not the end of the world! Are those numbers good??????? We haven't flown SW in a few years since they don't have it in Dayton and Cincinnati so we'll see how the 2 hour drive to Columbus goes to see if we'd do it again or pay the extra for Airtran or Delta!!!

As I said yesterday, mom and I went for our mani/pedis! I didn't take pics of hers but she got coral color with palm trees/sunset on her big toes and flower design on her ring fingers..it was super cute!

I got..

It was $70 including tip but that included my nails being filled, fixed, design, pedi, pedi scrub, and design which I didn't think was too bad! I'm ready for the trip now


CLUB LEVEL UPDATE:

Well, my attempt to book YC/BC was not successful. I tried and finally gave up as it got too close to the trip and I didn't want to rebook EVERYTHING for Club Level so we'll see how Poly is and hope for the best!

I got the following email the other day which really brightened up my day and got me more excited!!

I printed 2 copies, one for my binder and another for my parents to open as we're leaving Vero Beach:

I really hope they are surprised and happy with the choice! We've only stayed at Poly (MK View) once back in 1996 and loved it so much that when we left for POR (split stay), my brother and I had a melt down! My parents learned now that when you do split stays, do the cheaper resort first..they were sad too! We only have a Garden View but there's always hope for an upgrade!!


PACKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I did a little bit of packing while watching my TLC shows but I figured I'd pack my clothes today so that they don't wrinkle!

Not sure if I updated that I got a new Swiss backpack??!! It was on sale for $44 at Target last week and my pink one was getting pretty nasty so I splurged and got a new one. It got pretty bulky as I began to put things in it but we'll see how it goes..I guess I'm stuck with it now



THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT!!!


We're going to take the dogs to the vet/kennel this morning, take mom's car to vacuum the chips and trash out of her car from the kids the past two weeks, and leave for the airport at 1pm.

You do realize you're only getting 5 hours of sleep the first night of your stay right? Happens to me everytime. I'm very excited to see what you think of Vero Beach. I don't know much about the place. What a great deal on a car rental! Be careful with Dollar though... they scammed us when we rented in Vegas. As long as you pick up the car on time though you should be fine

HOME SWEET HOME!!!!

HI DIS FRIENDS, I'M BACK!!!

We made it home safely last night. Our flight was delayed a bit but we still made it back and home safe and sound.

If you haven't read my FB updates, I'M MOVING TO FL NEXT WEEK!!!

***Due to the fact that I'll be moving, job hunting, getting settled, I've decided not to do a TR of the June trip. With all that's going on, 5 days to pack/move, and we're seeing the traveling Broadway Lion King tomorrow in Dayton, I've decided to not worry about a TR at this time. I'll post my pics on FB for everyone to see but decided early in the trip that doing a TR would not work at this time. I hope you enjoy the pics on FB as I post them and watch for future TR from me!!!!***


Anyways..here's a brief overview of the trip...

We spent from 10:00am-5:30pm on Sat 18th looking at apts and decided on the very last one that we saw. It was the best going rate and was within our range but we had to sign the lease for the 30th instead of the 1st so we signed for the 30th to keep the rate low and now I'm in the process of packing!!!!

The trip was great!!!

Our flight was a few mins late leaving because of storms in Columbus but we arrived right on time which was good. The rental car ended up being a blessing of the $189 that it was worth. The girl even upgraded our car and it came with a huge trunk! We ended up driving it to Universal and drove 2 cars to Vero Beach plus it was nice to drive back to the airport and not take the UnMagical Express back!

We had a blast at Universal on Fri 17th even though it rained off and on. Harry Potter was amazing!!!!!!! Bro got a nice discount at the gift shops and ended up with 2 wands by the end of the day.

My future roomie was able to main gate my parents into the parks on Sat 18th which was nice to keep them occupied for the day while her and I apt hunted. I had dinner with my parents at Tonys Town Square that night and we loved the meal unlike a few years ago when we went in the afternoon for Lunch in July and hated it so that was good

We fell in love with our Ocean View Inn room at Vero Beach the 19-22 but there is NOTHING TO DO in the area from what we could see. We tried to eat at the restaurant Shutters for dinner the 19th, sat for 20 mins, and was never waited on so we left and ended up at a local restaurant down the road which was probably better than Shutters. The internet/cell coverage was horrible. They did credit us $30 for their "wifi" which wasn't working half the time. We would go back again but only for a few days..never a week. I got island braids with beads done and it was $40 + tip. The lady did a great job and it was well worth the wait! We rented chairs/umbrella at the beach for 2 days and my dad loved it!

Poly surprise brought tears to my mom's eyes. My dad loved the Club Level and agreed to stay club level again (at a CM discount of course) and skip out on the DDP because you honestly don't need both! We had 2 meals at Captain Cooks and ate breakfast at Kona which was good but not needed when we had the Club Level for breakfast. We watched the fireworks from the lounge but they didn't pipe in the music that night That was okay though because outside it was lightning left and right so we were safe inside!

All in all it was a good trip. My brother and I ended up with sinus infections during the trip and I was able to get in to see the doctor today to get this cleared up before next week.

I'll be leaving the 29th with mom and driving all day/night (13 hours) to WDW. We're staying at CSR (CM discount) for 3 nights while I get settled and mom will fly home on July 2nd.

Yes..we got 5 hours of sleep and I didn't sleep any of it!!!

We've used Dollar now 3 times and have had great luck every time and have been upgraded too! Their rates are always so good so I guess we'll continue to use them until something goes wrong

Thanks! I'm going to try for Disney. They only let you apply once in a 6 month period and I had applied back in April for their job fair and was never called so I'm going to head to casting to see what they can do but that's the plan..I might just have to wait till Oct now. Sadly as of last night, Universal's entry level jobs are for all Leads "coordinators" so I doubt I would qualify for any of those but we'll see. I'm also going to check out daycares and of course full time teaching jobs too. It will be so much easier when I'm living there and can do all of that!

So was Vero nice to do for a few days? I probably wouldn't do more than 2-3 days there probably, just because I am not sure I could give up that much park time! lol- we aren't lounge by the pool kind of folks...........well okay, i sort of am, but hubby isn't and I end up chasing after a 3yo.

So any luck on the job front? I hope the drive down with your mom goes great!! I can't wait to follow along on your new adventure and I'd love to meet up sometime when I am down in October (14-22 at BLT). I remember reading your posts and TR back when you worked at BBB and even did the AK job, so I feel like I've been reading all about you for years now.
