WE DID IT!!!!

So proud of Erika for gutting that out. It was very tough. Especially the last half in the heat. I guess we made it through before it was shortened

And thanks to everyone this weekend. We got a lot of encouragement from all of you.

Great job to everyone out there today! Less than ideal conditions to say the least and sounds like everyone who started finished the job! I can concur with @garneska that cheering is hard work too but really rewarding! Look forward to seeing folks tomorrow for DATW. 11:00 on Mexico correct (and sorry in advance if it’s on the awesome spreadsheet)?

I loved everything about today! (Except for the heat) Starting in C made for such a different experience for me. I never had any crowding, etiquette was great and I got some great course pics including an awesome castle pic! 😍 The heat got me again but I was determined not to have another DNF so I took the opportunity to stop for lots of pics. My IT band flared a little but not terrible. DH chased me around to spectate and his sign was a hit. We strolled through EPCOT after the race and enjoyed a drink and burger at Bar Riva. Overall a great time!

way to go everyone. I have to say cheering for 3 hours is not easy. Saw @Fischstick
NO JOKE I think cheering for 6+ hours today (3.5 at TTC and 3 at Epcot) was harder than yesterday's HM! I was on my feet the whole time and my voice is shot from shouting and cheering, but it was SO SO SO MUCH fun. Signs were a hit -- I swapped Worst Parade Ever for the Ted Lasso Believe sign at the end and got a ton of reaction and people slapping the sign. Tissues once again were appreciated, and all the Cokes were gone fast. I'll definitely do this again.

It was so great to see so many of you out on the course today! My running coach was among the super fast runners early on and I got to give her a high-five. I know for sure I also saw @rick1zoo2 and Erika, @AZMermaid, @pluto377, @Novatrix and @marty3d, @Disney at Heart @nancipants, @Herding_Cats, @Mr_Incr3dible and @lookingforsunshine and I'm sure I missed a few others.

Anyone know what happened to Jogging Jack Sparrow? Didn’t see him this year and he hasn’t posted in a bit.
People have been talking/asking about him all week and he's definitely not here. Someone today said they saw a video he did a while back saying he was taking a break.

Someone saying the course cutting was a medical staff call, they hit their limit failed to provide staff adequate to the need with how many athletes are getting treated.
FTFY
I found the heat brutal, and so did many of the people around me. The humidity really gets you if you aren't used to it. I saw a person just laying flat out and medical had to come around mile 24.
Oh, I’m sure! I don’t mean to downplay the impact of heat: I run through endless weeks of heat indexes of 90-100º all summer. It’s uncomfortable, unpleasant, and can be dangerous if folks aren’t acclimated and/or don’t take actions to mitigate the impact of heat.

My point is that for those who are fine, why should they be diverted if they’re still on pace? Sounds like it’s due to rD not planning/staffing adequately and IMO that’s unacceptable: they've been in this game long enough to know better and do better. If they can’t get adequate medical staff to handle the size of the race field, they should cap the race lower. But that means raking in less money, so that won’t happen. I know others feel differently, and that’s fine - this is just one person’s opinion!

And thanks to my perfect life and running partner. I would not have made it without him!

This Dopey weekend was literally everything I dreamed of when I decided I wanted to try it again. I really didn’t think this was possible back in October when I was knocked down with pneumonia. I’ve worked so hard this year so I’m glad it paid off and didn’t get derailed by illness.

Today was amazing, although too hot. I had an ice pack on my head for the last 6 miles. I’m so glad I got to do blizzard beach because I can now say with 99% certainty that my Dopey career is over. I can’t imagine it ever going better than this weekend so I will end on a high. I will come back to MW as many times as possible but only one or two races at a time!

Hope to see you all tomorrow in Epcot! Treat yourselves kindly today!

Nice meeting yall this morning. Hope y’all have a great race!
DH and I arrived late and I saw you as I was making my rounds to greet everyone, and then you left before I talked to you. I asked someone “who was the tall guy with a V on his shirt” and was dismayed to find I had missed a chance to talk to you. Coming to DATW tomorrow?

Agreed, and I live hear and am used to it. There were a LOT of people getting medical attention. The temp might not have been *that* high, but the sun was bright, there were very little clouds, and it felt like hell, literally. I was dumping water on myself at each water stop, kept the sponge in my bra, and took ice at Boardwalk.
