Marathon Weekend 2026

SAFD: If I'm doing an outside run then its just me. Treadmills I will usually watch a show, I have found cartoons tend to work better as I need something I don't have to pay to much attention too. For the marathon build going through the Star Wars series, watched the Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and The animated Clone Wars move during long runs during my half build earlier this year. Then moved on to the Clone Wars cartoon series. If I make it through all of that on to Revenge of the Sith and Bad Batch. (I hope the weather is good enough it doesn't come to that :)).

Mythbusters has also worked well, tried Sitcoms like Seinfeld, and How I Met your Mother, but they didn't work at all. Neither did Band of Brothers, required way to much attention.

Throw in Rebels too, and you’ll have plenty of material to keep you going. :)

So, does this mean MK would likely be less crowded on half marathon day? Since it will be harder for people to get there. If anyone knows from experience. Trying to start plan my park days (even though there's plenty of time - but I like planning haha) and was thinking of doing a few hours until lunch at MK after the half, before heading back to the hotel to relax before the full.
I went to MK after running the HM last year and the crowds were NOT light. We left Boardwalk to head over there around 10:00 am. It was a huge hassel getting there (as others mentioned, busses to MK were very delayed to the point we took a RD bus to Epcot and then got on monorail) and was pretty busy once we arrived. Now all things are relative, but compared to my experience going to MK after the marathon, it definately felt more crowded.

SAFD: Music for sure! I need to think about a podcast or audiobook to spice things up.

But seriously, you folks that run without anything amaze me. If my headphones fail me on a run, the sound of my breathing annoys the heck out of me. My thoughts range from “I’m impressed with my lung health” to “this can’t be a good sign” to “my labored breathing has to be drawing in wild animals to see what is dying!” 😂🤣

And if headphones fail in a race, I'm likely to focus on whatever obnoxious noise the people near me are (totally unaware they're) making and get irrationally angry. Like, seriously, how do people survive being able to hear their gel packets rustling?! 🤣🤣
