Marathon Weekend 2026

so inflation is a thing, price increases are a thing, but this is also going to be a weekend with Brooks shirts. So maybe we can attribute some of that increase to [hopefully] better quality shirts?

Was considering Dopey but almost choked on my cough drop when I saw the price: Is this a big increase, or normal?

Honestly... I could be mistaken but I feel like although RD prices are already pretty high, until now they've mostly avoided the big price increases that were hitting everywhere else in WDW.

Kind of rough though, was expecting Dopey to hit 700 and boy did they hit it this year.

Doing the math, it's $48 more for Dopey than last year, which comes out to $8/shirt more if that's where we are assigning the cost. It looks like the 10k only went up by $5 compared to the price for PW?

If 2025 is an indication, this does NOT include fees. I looked up my registration from last year and it was $688 before fees.

It should be including fees? I have an email charging me 688, could check my credit card statement to confirm though.

The website says that the prices include a 6.6% service fee. So maybe that's new this year for it to already include that?

Here's the screencap from last year, includes the service fee. They've been doing this for a few years now, I remember the conversation here when they started bc there was some initial sticker shock over the increase.

I may or may not have dropped the idea of DD running the 5k with DH.

ETA: and I was JUST ABOUT to say "But I definitely won't be doing Dopey" and then I see the dang artwork. I love this so much more than this year's stuff. DH is not gonna be impressed with me in the car tonight.

How long until goofie turns into Dopey? It’s only an additional 15k

Also, in terms of pricing, while expensive, I was surprised to find out that the marathon is cheaper than the NYC marathon.
The double hit of bad CAD exchange and price increase is going to be painful this year though.

Love the literary themes! I immediately turned to my DW and said I hate rD for doing this and making me want to do Dopey again - to which I got a massive eye roll.

I really don’t want to do Dopey this year for several reasons including that it’s going to be a solo trip and want to minimize hotel costs and days away.

I’m going to stick to my plan to run 2 races this year. I was already leaning strongly to Goofy and now I’m convinced. At least I will get 3 medals out of it!

I, too, love the themes. Ughhhhhh. I am definitely NOT doing Dopey this year (I made a very serious promise to my family about this. Three years of Goofy/Dopey in a row has put a strain on our holiday season too much), but I may snag the half and make a short trip out of it. All of my friends are back in for Dopey and trying very hard to peer pressure me into it.

Ooooooooh nooooooooos. I love, love, LOVE this theme! I’d just about convinced myself not to register for ANY of them because I’m so worried about my future financial and job situation, and now this is very hard. I suppose the best way to take part and not spend so much would be to pick only one race and keep it to a 2-3 night stay… ugh.

I'm getting that urge again but trying to hold off because I told myself it was DL next year and as I've mentioned this is NOT a good weekend for me with work, but the problem here is... well we know nothing about DL, not even what weekend it’ll be. It’s almost a definite but it feels like they pulled a Springtime Surprise on that weekend, have no idea what they’ll do with the themes aside from something involving Mickey and Minnie for the half, and I guess they’ll keep doing Dumbo as the challenge theme.

So in the absence of that I'm what-iffing.
