Marathon Weekend 2026

I really like the artwork! Shocked by the Dopey price, but then already have my credit card ready to go…

I am a little anxious about the POT, with a 4:40 marathon I am on the wrong side of the POT.
Your POT is fine.

4:30 is the START TIME on marathon day (so it looks like this is a change that's here to stay and not a one-off experiment)

POT cut-offs are still 5:00 (full) and 2:30 (half)

Re: the price hike.... I've been slowly converting gift cards I get playing games through a website to Disney gift cards since the summer. I've got enough to cover Dopey so that makes it free, right?
Genius idea! What is the site you use?

I'll be very interested to see how these price increases translate to demand on registration day. I'm guessing they probably won't move the needle, though.
A lot of positive feedback so far on IG about the theme, not expecting it to hit the popularity of 2023, also don't think the price increase (7 percent jump for Dopey) is *too* bad, to the point that it scares people off. So I'd be surprised if we see substantial movement in sellout times. TBH I don't know how bad it would have to be before people would start being like ok yeah that's too much now.

I’m interested in doing the Goofy Challenge for a charity in 2026. I’m having trouble finding which charities are doing bib/sponsorship programs; either the charities direct me to 2025 info or they dont have Goofy (I’ve seen Dopey, 5k, 10k, Half and Full marathon).

Anyone know if charities do the Goofy Challenge? In 2026?

Thanks!!
Following up on this earlier post. The charity I was most interested in/connected to has opened their registration for 2026 Marathon weekend. I’ve registered for Goofy!!!😁😁

Color me perplexed by all the love for the themes and artwork, which I think are . . . not only bad, but the worst I’ve ever seen? It looks like art from some rejected virtual race cash grab. “It’s the 17ks of Summer Reading” or some such nonsense. The Dopey design is particularly atrocious. The baseline character itself is already bad, but now he’s some sort of mutant baby?

I hope more people feel similarly to you because judging by the comments, I’m not getting my hopes up of being able to get into anything. It feels like it will sell out in about 0.5 seconds with all the people claiming they weren’t going to do it but now have to and how they just can’t miss out on these medals. I enjoy doing RunDisney races, but it just keeps getting worse with the FOMO and influencer presence that it’s become more about medals and what someone can put on Instagram than actually caring about running. :(

The more I look at the art, the lazier it gets. The marathon art it literally just a palate swap of the 2024 marathon art, with a helmet and crown stuck on.

What makes me angry is the total missed opportunity. The race description says “experience 26.2 miles ruled by Sir Mickey.” Now where have I heard the phrase Sir Mickey before? Oh yeah, the store in MK which features far superior artwork from Brave Little Tailor. You know, a Disney short actually based on a book. This is what the art should have looked like.

I doubt it will slow anyone down. I think once it hits $1,000.00, then it may slow it down some. The demand is there and they can basically charge whatever they feel like. Arent all the races sold out in less than a hour or two still?
