Marathon Weekend 2025

the sun has set, I'm off work (ish). I've started addressing the family on east coast time.

I noted to DS7 that we get up in 9 hours to go.

It's feeling realer.

Also I just booked a local marathon for later this year to train for.

How busy is it at the open of the expo? Was planning to go at 10. How long would I wait to get bibs, shirts, etc.? How fast does the VQ numbers get called?

Bibs lines kind of vary some are better than others. It’s really just a matter of chance. Depending on whose there also picking up to be honest.

VQ callback kind of varies depending on how many people are there. Like they’ll usually call a batch and keep calling but as the shop gets more full it will stall for safety reasons. So how long you’re waiting depends on that and what group you’re in.

Ended the night with requesting a room change. The room itself is not bad but the locations a nightmare. Would mean extra 30-40 minutes each day to get to the bus transport area pickup. So there full tonight but will move to a closer room. Still not the closest building to the race transport. But it’s in a prime location for everything so I’ll take it

Go figure the one time I’m not put in the 50s section is the one time I can’t really deal with being that far out

So question about photopass. Is it different now or do I still link bib numbers for my spouse and kids? I have photopass on my annual pass.

I will be travelling with my sister - this will be her first Rundisney event (we are running the 10K together) and my first marathon
Very anxious, excited, happy… feeling all the feelings right now!

so a very friendly (not) security guard just turned my Lyft away…said we’re not allowed onsite until 7 AM. Definitely not my experience from any other expo I’ve ever done here (usually there are at least 10 other early birds around this time). He told me to wait at McDonald’s but we’re headed back to the poly for now

You have to link your race codes. The race pictures are identified by bib only, not ticket or magic band.

It’s also possible for the spouse to link and then the AP to have access from the friends and family feature. Last year I linked my own bib but my brother downloaded them because he was the one with MM.

It makes me curious about the four bib limit and if that’s per memory maker or per person…

It’s is the same. They have just been very explicit with the codes this year since there are always a bunch of people who can’t figure out their code, or don’t know to zero-fill the front end to get enough digits

Still the same as previous years, the only difference is they give us the full code to copy and paste into the "link photo" box, instead of having to type it out (and possibly mis-key it)

Costumes for the weekend might be changing based on the weather forecast and the mail systems not updating their info.

The package with my costume needs to get here today for it to mail back. Because Dads having a surprise laser surgery tomorrow (I do mean surprise went to the doctor and they immediately scheduled it.) So that’s why things are more in flux then normal

Headed to Epcot this morning to ride Guardians and Remy then headed to the expo after. Glad I already ordered the race jacket as I expect those to go even faster this year given the weather. I am more than likely going to have my University of Tennessee beanie on if anyone wants to say hi.
