That's pretty typical. Works out to half the cost of the race minus platform fee. It's what I got when I had to cancel DL. And it goes without saying, it is better than the stated "no money back"Whelp... RunDisney offered $105.07 for not doing the $224 half marathon. I guess it's something...

I will join you in this manifesting projectNOOOOOO! We are due for a decent or even cold MW and I DEMAND it!
I'm at the parks this week and the weather is perfection -- 40s in the morning and 60s during the day with sun. I'm personally attempting everything possible to manifest this for the races.
Same!! I had quite enough of that nonsense at W&D, thank you very muchI will cry if the temp is 70 at the start of the marathon.
Yeah, it's wicked brutal with the winds here today. I'm not even sure I can run in my neighborhood tomorrow because of all the sticks/small branches that have fallen off of a bunch of trashy trees along the road. It was an obstacle course to drive on.Just landed back in MN after a week at WDW, just in time for my 19 miler this weekend right?

On the bright side, it looks like we will have a brief warm front this weekend.
As long as there is no snow/ice I can’t complain too much. Can always bundle up, but hard to run when it’s slippery.
Not to steal jmasgat (you should have first dibs) but I'm still looking for a 10k bib for my wife. I go all the way to clicking purchase today only to have it fail.If anyone hears (from another forum/social media site) of charity bibs becoming available with waived fundraising requirements, can you please post? A little late to decide it might be fun to run a 10k or half, but whatever. I am totally willing to make some kind of charitable offering, but probably not at the level of current fundraising requirements.
I really wish they allowed race waivers. I know people who are now unable to do the half, and their bibs will go to waste.
Can everyone up north come and take your weather back please? We’ve had enough. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Florida
It's not our weather, but we'd gladly trade. It's currently 7°F (feels like -17°F) with 20 mph NW wind (gusting to 36 MPH) at my house. Can everyone up north come and take your weather back please? We’ve had enough. Thank you.

In the past, the trap is getting warmed up and wanting to ditch extra attire prior to MK and then coming out of MK (with the old routes) on to Floridian Way. And while the sun is coming up and you were feeling warm enough before, now you get the cool air coming off the water and gold courses as you start the long haul to AK and it could get chilly back there.Being cold natured, older, slow, and in a later corral, sometimes I ditch just before start, but I sometimes wait until I start to warm up and then ditch outer layers. That may be before the first water stop or maybe never, depending on the weather. One year I ditched layers early and wished I didn’t. (I thought I’d freeze before I got to MK when the sun finally came up). And one year I crossed the finish line still wearing sweat pants, ear covers, and a light jacket over my running clothes. I forgot which year it was that cold. This year I’ll keep in mind that if we start the marathon at 4:30, the coldest temperatures don’t happen until around dawn!
I carry my medals on. TSA precheck has never batted an eye. That said, I usually put them in a separate bag I pull out so that in case they want to search them, they don’t have to go through my entire bag. But the first time I definitely had them wrapped in socks in my coat pockets because I ran out of room in my luggage lol.We just came back from Space Coast, and spent a night at Disney on the way back. I didn’t run Space Coast this year, but DH and DS27 ran the full. I’ve got a couple of things to mention here:
DS27 lives in Boston, so he and his fiancée flew, and we drove down and picked them up at MCO. It occurred to me before we dropped them back at the airport that TSA would likely take away his medal, since it is massive and heavy, and that has been discussed on this thread previously. For those of you who fly to MW, is that likely to be a problem that the new folks should know about? For reference, here’s what the Space Coast medal was this year:
It weighs 1 pound, 3.4 ounces (I checked). The challenge medal that DH got was slightly smaller, but still huge. I just thought I should bring that up, in case those flying need to consider packing the MW medals in checked luggage only, or shipping them. Since we always drive, I’ve never had to think about it. I’m going to mail DS’s to him.
Another important bit of info. for the group—I have a definitive answer on Hurricane Hanna’s! We were at the Boardwalk, and took a detour to HH to ask the CM working if they’d be open for our meetup. He said that their last day of operation will be January 13, so yes! After that, he said they’d been told they would close for at least six months, and he didn’t seem clear on whether they’d be back as HH after the renovation was over. At least for this time, we should be good to go as usual. As I recall, that should be on Friday, starting at 2:00. Someone correct me if I’m misremembering.
It’s getting close, y’all!
It was cute the first time that I had to wear one of my long sleeved runDisney shirts, but that got old really fast. I don't know how y'all do it all the time. Can everyone up north come and take your weather back please? We’ve had enough. Thank you.

Florida
I sewed up medal cases that fold together on themselves to transport them. We always fly home, and TSA has *never* taken our medals away from us. Do they see a huge chunk of metal in the bag and pull it aside and open it up to see what is it? Yes. But they are seeing thousands of medals come through security that weekend. If you don't have too many things to juggle and you DO have some sort of a separate carrier for medals, I've seen it suggested on social media (by people who are at most of the race weekends) to have the medals out separate from your carryon/personal item. That way when it gets flagged, they can just check that specific thing, not have to open your bag, and once you are through just pop it into your carryon or personal item bag.DS27 lives in Boston, so he and his fiancée flew, and we drove down and picked them up at MCO. Thank you for checking!! I was going to go bother in the resort page again next week to see if anyone there knew anything about the refurb closure. Not sure I'll make it to HH this year since that's our park day with BIL/SIL, but I'm going to try to pop over for 5 or 10min.Another important bit of info. for the group—I have a definitive answer on Hurricane Hanna’s!
