Marathon Weekend 2023

SAFD: I can’t say we have a “must do every trip” quick service place, but we do have some favorites. MK—Sleepy Hollow for Nutella and fruit waffles for breakfast; DHS—Woody’s Lunch Box if we are with the granddaughters; AK—Satu’li Canteen; and Epcot—well, we just snack at the food booths ‘cuz there is almost always a festival of some sort going on these days!!

SAFD: We do not have fav quick service meal. To save money a lot of times we pac a lunch and then do dinner a sit down restruant. We loove the restaurants and bars though and have lots of fond memories of thoses... We are going to try the ronto wrap for the first time, so that could become our new quick service meal.

SAFD: Mine WAS Be Our Guest for quick service lunch. And then, Disney scrapped quick service lunch at that restaurant and turned it into a fancier fixed-price sit-down meal only, which is an EPIC disappointment to me and my family (we rarely do sit-down dining at all during theme park time, and never at lunch... so goodbye Be Our Guest). ☹

I'm hoping beyond hope to get Be Our Guest back for quick service lunch. There is no good QS replacement option in Magic Kingdom for the food selections or atmosphere!

My current favorite is Flame Tree BBQ for the pretty lakeside seating and big servings of french fries. I love Animal Kingdom's atmosphere in general! 🙂

SAFD: My first choice for quick service is Geyser Grill over at Wilderness Lodge. It's a sit down/quick service hybrid, so it might not count, but I love those bison burgers. The huckleberry punch is delicious too.

Satu'li Canteen would be my top pick for more traditional quick service choice, with their create-your-own bowls.

Honorable mention: Yorkshire County Fish Shop. The fish is the perfect size and crispiness, and I enjoy bringing my food to the benches in the back of the UK pavilion and listening to live music performances as I eat.

Question: Do you have a favorite/must do quick service restaurant on property? Which one and why?

I don't really have a must do quick service since we don't do all of the parks on every trip and all my favorite quick service places are in a park. Sunshine Seasons and Columbia Harbor House are the two favorites. We always hit Columbia in MK and if we aren't in Epcot for a festival we hit Sunshine Seasons.

SAFD: Without a doubt, Columbia Harbour House is my absolute favorite quick service. My love for it goes all the way back to when clam chowder in a sour dough bread bowl was an entree. Now it's the lobster roll with a side of clam chowder multiple times a trip. This year they even brought the bread bowl back during Marathon Weekend!

I also have to give a posthumous honorable mention to the dearly departed Tangierine Cafe. The shawarma was a go to favorite in Epcot. I'm very, very sad to see it go.

SAFD: Can I cheat and say whichever Epcot festival booth has scallops? 😂

if I can’t cheat, probably Satu’li canteen. Just because it’s not all fried, pizza/hamburgers kind of stuff.

Yes, this. Sleepy Hollow is our only “have to” for quick service.

when DH and I were at MK during MW they DIDN’T HAVE THEM! They weren’t even on the menu. I was very very sad and consoled myself with a strawberry topped funnel cake, which wasn’t really what I wanted at all. Hopefully it’s a short-term covid-related menu change, because I feel like these are one of the more popular items.

I nearly cried when I saw they didn’t have them during mw. Good thing I was sitting trying to mobile order. Praying they are back next month for our family trip.

my faves are satuli, flame tree, and sleepy hollow. Honorable mention to la cantina, but sometimes the line there is too much for me.

Ummm, my daughter and I had them during MW.

ETA: we did use the Disney World app to order

SAFD:
Any resort foodcourt where we can order Mickey waffles (w or w/o gluten), pasta and other basic but practical food. Better if there is a nice sit down area outside to enjoy.

Other places we can’t skip are Starbucks because coffee.

The only other place that is a must is Aloha isle where they serve Dole Whip floats. Some snacks like Mickey bars are unavoidable but can be purchased anywhere.

Besides that, we like many of the QS listed in the other posts, we just don’t have a favourite!

SAFD: We skipped AK this past MW because EE was down for maintenance and whenever that park is missing one of the bigger attractions it feels a little light for a full day ticket. When I go to AK Satu’li is the definition of a go to for me. Its one of two QS at any park that I will always go for a meal.

The other is Les Halles. I’m surprised I haven’t seen it mentioned in any responses so far (it may have been, I was reading quickly and may have missed it). Once upon a time it kind of felt like our little secret, we’d always start an Epcot day getting pastries for breakfast. Now, everyone’s hip to it. Still a must.
