I really like that idea. How did you find the crowds at MK Sunday afternoon/evening?

They weren't bad. We used the FastPass for Space Mountain and the Dwarf Ride, I think. Pirates of the Carribean was a few minutes wait. You will definitely need reservations for Liberty Tree Tavern, however, if you end up wanting to go there.

Does anyone have advice on mid run stitches? I seem to get one now every time I run and it's really painful! I tend to take a walk break and raise my arms behind my head and breath deeply but it's really grinding my gears that I'm getting it every time. It's always the same place too, right side just under where my ribcage starts.

I used to get those all the time too. I was told it was essentially a muscle cramp, and to avoid them, I needed to stand up straighter and run with my shoulders back and head up. I don't have the greatest posture to begin with, but focusing on this posture while running has seemed to help the side stitch issue, as well as other problem areas.

May seem strange, but I was once told to pinch the area causing the pain. Tried it out a few time and it seemed to help out. Hope the problem resolves itself soon because it's a overrated experience.

This is caused by breathing. When running, keep your breathing slow and deep. If you feel a stitch coming on, just slow your breathing. If you cannot slow your breathing, you are running too fast.

Or go nicer and go to the parks the whole time! Okay, I wouldn't recommend spending the entire day there on Friday or Saturday, but a few hours is generally okay.

My co-worker gets these too and he fixed it with his breathing as well. When he feels it coming on he slows his breathing down and once it goes away and he gets into his groove he said they don't come back for that run. Hope that helps.

Monorail resorts and Epcot resorts are going to be the ones that let you get back and forth to the parks in the shortest amount of time. The additional advantage of the monorail resorts is that getting to the start on race day is usually much easier on the monorail than on a bus. Unfortunately, those advantages come with a steeper price tag than other resorts and hotels.

You feel my pain! I do worry that maybe my running posture isn't right, I just started running a year ago and have never had anyone 'access' me to tell me if I'm doing it right other than when I went to get fitted for new trainers.

Thanks for the advice! Yes I've heard that too, or to like put push in against it, but I get it in an awkward place and kinda have to push under my rid cage, it does seem to help a bit but then when I start running again it comes back. Me too, definitely overrated!

Thanks! It's strange because I do breath quite slow and deep anyway, I never feel out of breath or even that my breathing is in any way quick on my runs but I have noticed that I get the stitch pains more often when I'm distracted so maybe I need to focus more on my breathing. I'll try pay extra attention on my run this evening and see how I go, thanks again!

I want to do Dumbo for one race (because I have a shirt that's a pretty good gray and has a yellow zipper for the yellow stripe on his ruffle/collar), and when I went shopping for capris today, I was looking for a pair to match that shirt! (no luck - I got darker capris, so I have to keep hunting for the light gray!)

Anyone else already thinking about race outfits?

I already have my 1/2 and full figured out, not designed but have the tanks and skorts as they were on sale so picked characters based on the colors I got. Cool on Dumbo, I'm doing Dumbo for 1/2 half at Disneyland as he is my all time favorite!

Ugh. Kinda! But I gotta settle on something for Wine & Dine first ...

I do think I'm leaning towards the characters from "Inside Out" for WDW, but there's a very large chance that will change between now and then.

Totally not weird, I've been thinking about my outfit since the day I signed up! And I just booked my flight so it's getting real now! My friends and I can't decide if we want to coordinate our outfits or not. We also haven't decided which resort to stay at either - so many things to think about!

Not weird at all!! Since DD is running 5k with me, she is choosing the costumes. DS is running 10k with me so he is choosing the costumes for that. I am still thinking of ones for half and full.

You've got time to figure it out!
For me, I like to work with something I have and create an outfit based on that. Others start with a character or movie they like and work from there. Both are valid methods, I think it's just a matter of what's easier for you - is it easier for you to try to work with what you already have, or would it just be easier to start from scratch?

even as a guy this topic has already come up between the DW and I, we are running the 5k together and will be doing Beauty and The Beast not sure exactly what yet but we have the theme, She is doing Rapunzel from Tangled for the 10k and I will be doing a simple Mike Wazowski for the Marathon (Green Tech Shirt with eyeball affixed to it, Monsters U hat and green running shorts) so yeah its totally not crazy lol

hm, good thing I did not get airline tickets yet. JetBlue's best deal has me getting into Orlando at 8-9pm, while Southwest can almost match that price at night AND in the morning. Plus, Southwest is only $2 more and you get a checked bag, whereas no checked bags on JetBlue. But JetBlue has DirecTV (good distraction for a 3 yr old).... decisions, decisions....

Not too early at all. You definitely want to try a run or two in all or part of your costume in advance to be sure you find any chafing spots before the race, check to make sure it's comfortable, etc. Remember the rule - nothing new on race day.
