Been there done that. We do like to spend the first mile or two gently passing people. We did that for the Cocoa Beach half.1. Don't feel discouraged. You made a mistake, and there's not much you can do about it now.
2. Accept the fact that the course is going to be very crowded and don't stress over it. Getting frustrated is only going to make you spend energy that would be better used to get you through the marathon. It'll also make you tense and that will lead to soreness and pain later in the race.
3. Don't weave all over the road from side to side trying to pass people. It wastes energy and can be dangerous to those around you. Instead, try to keep a straight line, and as you approach someone, tell them "on your left," as you step to the side, thank them as you pass by, and get back into your line.
4. Get to the corral early and go to the very front. It'll give you some clearer running room.
Did anyone who did the 5k sign up for runner tracking and not get any updates? It was a fun run but checking after the race and I never got any emails. Am concerned that maybe my bib didn't work and there is no record of me participating. Results are not up yet so I can't check there.
Definitely plan the front of the corral. I am just surprised to be stuck in the very last corral. I wonder if those doing Goofy or Dopey were automatically given precedence. No biggie. Just curious. When I did Goofy, I am not sure if I had proof of time. But I definitely was not the last corral.
There are no trackings for the 5k. The mile marker signs have a time but there are no emails for the race.Did anyone who did the 5k sign up for runner tracking and not get any updates? I think that assessment is spot on. And hilarious.I guess everyone buying the shoes at the expo who are trying to better themselves but not beat anyone else are not athletes, they're just bodies. Just bodies with cash.

Still on the lookout for an expo speaker series schedule because I couldn't find any with my usual google sleuthing methods. Anyone have a copy?It mentions that she will be speaking at the expo on Friday. Does anyone know if there is a schedule of who is speaking and when? I could not find anything in the official guide.
I think they had posted the speaker series on Twitter and maybe Facebook. Have you checked there?Still on the lookout for an expo speaker series schedule because I couldn't find any with my usual google sleuthing methods. Anyone have a copy?
