Marathon Weekend 2016

I am checking the weather way to much, reviewing my running plan to remind myself I am prepared, and doing a pipe support takeoff for work. Working a half day tomorrow and getting everything ready to go for 6:00AM departure Friday morning. Wont actually step foot onto Disney property until Saturday. Time is going by SO SLOWLY...

We fly out friday morning but will hopefully be at the expo by 10:30am .

They simply just cant pinpoint when the rain is coming. It's a little maddening. I still haven't ruled out a Cat. 3 Hurricane and 9" of snow for Saturday and Sunday.

My major concern is lightning. I just don't want the race cancelled. I'd even take snow.

AAAARGH. Right now I'm totally regretting my decision to do Princess Weekend instead of Marathon Weekend. I'm reading all these posts and getting so jealous. My wife and I did 2 WDW Half Marathons, and completed our first FULL last year, so it's the first time we haven't been there for this weekend in 3 years.

QOTD: Not sure yet for Saturday nights dinner. DD has a volleyball tournament in Clearwater so we won't be over until probably 5ish Saturday night. I went and got my packet this morning and grabbed a shirt and sweaty band at the expo. I was not in love with any of the marathon shirts.

For those of you waiting to leave what are you thinking about to pass the time?

Two more sleeps for me too and I am freaking out. Not about the race on Sunday this time, but rather everything this momma needs to get done before I leave Friday morning. I swear, going on a kids-free trip is harder than packing up the entire crew.

Made it to Orlando! Convinced the Magical Express driver to do reverse route so we get to Beach Club as second stop. Thanks for the feedback on expo buses - straight to the room and then expo bound to get our race stuff. Anyone at expo now and what are lines for bibs and commemorative item pickup?

Back home, they had an F3 tornado one day and less than 24-hours later it started snowing. So ... you really never know.

2 more sleeps as well here. I'm trying to occupy myself with tasks like checking my packing list, working out my eating schedule for race morning, etc. This last couple of days is like tapering, I'm tired of waiting (training) and I'm ready to go (race).

I need this day and tomorrow to go faster. I'm trying to work and bang out some stuff for my MBA application, but right now the only personal statement I can think of is "I really want to be at Disney World".

I'm talking to my coworker who is running the race with me, trying to figure out what to pack for the changing weather, running through my to-do list. I have tomorrow off so I might get a hair cut to keep my hair shorter in the event of rain. I'm trying to figure out what might be left for me to buy at the expo.

QOTD: As of right now we are hitting the buffet at 1900 Park Fare the night before the race to load up.

I did see it at the Expo this morning - it was by the generic RunDisney stuff in the back-left corner of the booth. Now, if it's still there? No idea. I can swing by and check tomorrow.

Only Dopey and Half capris - I would've TOTALLY bought Marathon ones, too!

I ended up just getting the Dopey ones - I grabbed two sizes and when I brought the one I wasn't going to keep back to the rack, the spot was completely empty. Hopefully they printed more! I tried them on when I got home and I LOVE them. I'm heading back by tomorrow in hopes I can grab a half pair as well.

You can't take all of the blame.
I had my hair up in a pony and ended up putting in dry shampoo so that I could wear it down.
Then I walked out the door of the hotel room ... and went right back for me hat.
(Although Splash Mountain is what actually forced my hair up ... I had my hair down under the hat before that).

Also ... On my way back from the expo. I bought nothing. My wallet is happy. Me ... Not so much.

I'm not a pink/purple girl so the dopey ones didn't appeal-but I loved the half! Knew I should have just got them! Let me know if you have any luck, I might be back tomorrow/Friday anyways as I need to return Raw Threads vest, so fingers crossed!
