Thanks for all the B-Day wishes everyone. I had a really nice day. My DS flew my DD home for the weekend for my B-day. I haven't seen her since Christmas- it was a great weekend!
Well- I did my measley mile this morning..... Only it wasn't so measley! I decided that this week my challenge to myself would be to jog 20 seconds out of every minute I walk. So, this morning I did that.... almost! There were a few times when I only jogged 10 seconds out of the minute instead of 20. BUT ....... even this is a HUGE accomplishment for me! As a result, I cut 2 minutes off my normal time! I did the 1 mile in 18 minutes 15 seconds! Now- I know this is still too slow, but when I think about where I started I am simply amazed! I was really worried that I would have a hard time getting back into the groove of training, but setting this goal and accomplishing it for the most part is helping me alot! I also got online first thing this morning and read all your posts- and that helped me too. I just couldn't imagine me not posting something! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for beiung here everyday to nudge each other on!
Did I tell you guys that I actually LOST weight while I was on vacation?!?!? What kind of vacation is that!!! I'm down another 5 lbs. YEAH!!
ibounce- I've been thinking about going down to WDW for that 10k myself- but I'm just not sure I want to do that before I do the half. I'm still thinking!
Colleen- You are WAY to hard on yourself! Even though you weren't feeling all that well, you still did 5 miles at an 11 minute pace!! ONLY IN MY DREAMS will I EVER get there! You are wonderful!!! Keep up the good work girlie!
tw1nsmom- you have plenty of time to pick up your speed! i do understand your anxiousness about time though. My trainer is always telling me not to worry about it- I still have 6 months unitl the marathon! And get this.... she evn thinks I could do the full marathon if I wanted to! That is just so funny to me- because I am still 90 lbs. over weight! So- if my trainer says I'll be ok- then you will too!!! Keep your chin up- you'll be good to go when it's time.
Monica- I'm not sure exactly where the Contemporary hill is, but I know it's just before and through an underpass by the Contmeporary. I would LOVE it if you would check it out! I am a tad bit worried about hilss- and wonder how far into the racew this is for us. I would imagine towards the end of it. I wish I was going with you!
Beth- I'm glad to hear you are out walking even though it isn't for the amount of time you wanted to. Excercise can be a great stress relief- and I don't know anyone under more stress tyhen you right now. It will be a little easier now that you mom has made a few decisions. My prayers are still with you.
Cheryl- I'm so impressed with your 5 mile walk time! You keep that up and you'll be able to walk the half marathon twice to catch up to me at the end!
Grammy- will you be my mom?!?!?!? Mowing your DD's lawn! What a sweetheart you are! I did get my surprise in the mail before I lefdt, but haven't had a chance to thank you for it- so thanks! I LOVE IT! And I get compliments on it all the time. I will most definetly be wearing this everyday (it helps with the food that goes into my mouth!) and on the day of the marathon!
JODY- where are you my friend??? Have you started with the walking yet?? Come on now! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
LAWalz- it sounds like you're doing a lot better! You'll get back into the swing in no time- just set a small little goal you can do to brag about on the thread- it worked for me!
Meme- good for you for walking to a hard place. I love it when I do something because my friends have motivated me to do something GOOD! I'm really proud of you!
Good luck to everyone with their workouts today!!!

My friend PixieMagic will be with me, but I hate the idea of holding her back (pace wise) and I think maybe she would 'go for it' if she didn't feel like she was desserting me. I've decided to do it for a couple of reasons. It's about 1/2 way between now and the 1/2 marathon, at half the distance, so a good indicator of how training is going. I also like the idea of not being a total race novice in January. Hopefully won't feel overwhelmed by the whole thing in Jan if I have an idea of how a race is done/crowds handled....all of that.

(And - wah-lah - I have one on already - just happen to have a couple in my bag with me
You will have to let us know all about it when you get back! I am going to try and find some 5K or 10K races around here before the marathon so that I won't be a race novice.
did I really eat all that. Glad you found a bracelet for yourself, here you are sending them out to everyone else and you didn't even have one. That is so kind of you!!! Now keep that bracelet on! Mine really helps me because it makes me think of this wonderful group of friends we are here and what we are accomplishing together and it helps to keep me motivated!
and support
I love it! it really did help withe the extra walking I did yesterday
I really feel it in my thighs, how many x-tra calories do we burn? and what is this about a hill on the course
I thought it was flat. Have you been on the magic before? We're going on the 10/2 cruise & I'm looking at excursions now and would love recommendations
Arrrr get out and walk!
).
You did say earlier in the week that today is your birthday right? (Well hopefully I didn't read that wrong
