Who got runner tracking updates all the way through the marathon? All my family got was the 5 mile update. After that, nothing.

The tracking worked great for the half marathon on Saturday, but seems to have crashed for the full.

Anyone have similar trouble?

I think the answer is... no one got updates throughout the marathon :)

I didn't hear of one person who got all of their updates on time, which at least on my end, led to some very worried people....

They did update the results page with all of the splits at about 4pm on Sunday, though....

Via phone and e-mail I only got the 5 mile and the 20 mile update. I was watching online at the results webpage and was able to track my buddies (DianeL and Cathy).

My family told me that they only had updates on me through 10 mile point. After that nothing. Also, when they did a results search there was a big gap in all the age groups. The results jumped from 4:42 to 4:52 (I finished 4:49). By the time I got home though everything was fixed and all my spits were there and I showed up in the results. Don't know what the problem was but I sure am glad that they fixed it!

dh and I laughed, when he finished the race (around 5hours) I got the update for his 10 mile - when he was napping I got an update, and as we were going to dinner I got the update of his finish time!! He was glad to have the split times tho!!

For dh, he only got 1 or 2 of my half updates, and they turned off the chip timer - so I officially got swept!! I finished in just over 4 hours (I think 4 hours 5 min or 10 min - and I was in Wave C 3 wave start!! so as far as I'm concerned dear Half organizers I did make it to the 3 hour 30 min time!!)

(not that I"m a spoiled brat whining or anything... :rolleyes1 )

I'm pretty mad as I was counting on it to know where my husband was in the race. I got the 5 and then 10 mile then nothing after that! Last year I got all of them.

The tracker didn't work for me! It was great in the half marathon, but like everyone else, it just wasn't working for the full. I was really disappointed. I was afraid everyone I was watching hadn't finished or something, but it finally came up with the finishers places.

We were missing one of our group in Tracking in the 1/2. For some reason she fell of the map both on text and email. Finally about 1/2 an hour after she had finished, it popped up.

My wife was also a little worried when nothing showed after 10 miles. I called her during a walk break at 21 miles though just in case.

Neither DH nor our friend at home got ANY of the updates for me during the Half. They're still waiting... Fortunately I called DH right before I crossed the 5K mat and told him where I was so he knew when to look for me.

I ran the Marine Corps Marathon in October. I, My DH, sister, and friends got the email that I had finished the marathon on Saturday (as in a few days ago) - no joke. Guess these "live" updates from races aren't always so live.:lmao:

this was very disappointing to me. my DH was supposed to get the text messages and got the 5 mile one about 30 minutes after we crossed the 5 miler, and then got the 10 and half at the same time at about 3pm (a few hours after I was back in the room!) and never got the remainder. We were way behind schedule (I had predicted 5:45-6 and it ended up being 6:30 ugh!) and he was meeting me with DD at the international gateway and got stuck standing there for well over an hour and a half as a result of no updates.

Yep, my text message told me I finished as I was unpacking my bags on Monday! No one got my splits, but they are online now.

I don't think it worked very well for the full. My parents and husband got my 5mile and that's it while I was running. They got my 10 and 20 mile times back to back about 4pm and never got my finish time. Fortunately my dad realized that the 3 guys dressed like flamingos were always about 2 minutes ahead of me, so he'd just wait for them to go by and then start looking for me. :rotfl:

I also used the phone tracking for 5 of my friends who did the half. I got my coach's first 2 splits just fine but then didn't get anything else for about 1-1/2 hours. Then I got about 10 text messages all at once with a mish-mash of 5k and 10k splits for my other 4 friends plus my coach's finish time (he'd been done for about a 1/2 hr). Two of my friends finished together at about 2:30 and I got their final times about 15 mins after we saw them come through the finish. My last 2 friends finished at about 2:50 and I got their finish times almost immediately after they crossed the mat. It seemed like it worked really well for the fast runners, was a mess for the middle of the pack and started to get better again towards the end as the number of people still on the course thinned out. :confused3

Either I'm going to have to take my phone with me next year so I can call and let my family know where I am or I'm going to have to find those flamingo guys again and keep pace with them. :lmao:

I can't believe I forgot to add this-- I told DH not to bother looking for me at the BC/YC until at least 11 a.m. I guess he doesn't always listen, because he took the kids down early enough to see the FIRST PLACE WINNER!

It gets worse... he stayed there waiting and didn't realize if the first place guy just cruised by him, he had some serious hours to kill! :rotfl:

That is too funny! I can not imagine sitting there with two squirming kids all that time!
I remember the not-so-funny comedian at mile 20 saying " I don't want to discourage you, but the winner is already at the airport. If it makes you feel any better, they took his tooth paste."

my DH and DD saw the first place winner as well (we stayed at BWV.) they were on their way to EPCOT for a few hours to check out some things so they did not wait around untill I came through until much later.

I got DH's 5 mile and 10 mile text in a timely manner...then nada!

Oh, and I swear the site said we would get K distances, not miles. My spreadsheet was pretty useless for miles. I don't do math for recreational purposes!
