Okay after weeks of reading the forum after Pumpkin21 introduced me to it at Christmas, I figured I would sign-up! So I am the GM traveling with Pumpkin21's family. Can't believe it is only 50 sleeps away!

Haven't started packing...and doubt I will until the weekend before at the earliest...but likely not until the night before I leave!

I get into the airport around midnight on Friday night before the cruise. Any suggestions on what I should do in terms of accommodation and travel to the Port?

WElcome! Can't help with the accomodations....we come in two days before and go to shhhhh(Universal) and then take our rental car and drop it off at the port. But if you go to the Disney Cruise Line Forum page (link at the top) - they have a faq on the top of the messages and you can click on that and learn more than you ever wanted to know about Disney.

Welcome GM! Since you are getting in so late, I would stay at the MCO Hyatt and then use Disney's transfers to the ship the next morning. Easy peasy. :)

Question for those who have cruised before...

1) do you have to fill out the forms online ahead of time or are they also available at the terminal to fill out? My DM may have issues with putting her credit card info online.

2) my DD10 is travelling with me but is staying in the connecting cabin with her GM. Will I need to have the notarized letter? I am still on the cruise with her just not in the same cabin.:confused3

Pumpkin,

1) You can just sign the payment authorization as CASH, and provide the credit card # when onboard if you like. I would fill out the forms online to save time at the terminal though.

2) Can't help here. But my DD is 10, too. We should have them meet!

My wife's passport arrived yesterday in the mail, so we are good to go now! :)

And since I just got off the DCL site to enter her info - I know that we are at 50 days!! That's not too far away...

I just realized I had not booked a rental car for disembarkation. I best go do that before the rates get too out of hand.

Happy planning all...it's gorgeous outside (73 today!) and I need to go enjoy it.

Hey Scott -- YAY for the passport! I got a Budget rental for disembarkation using a code I found on the DIS transportation board for $44. Let me know if you want and I'll look the code up for you.

Shelly

We just applied for Lillian's passport yesterday. I so hope it comes in time! Getting a passport appropriate baby photo was certainly a challenge.

We're staying at Disney for a couple days pre-cruise and are taking a town car to the port. It ends up costing just a little bit more than using Disney's transportation. If I was braver, I'd rent a car. Everyone tells me that it is an easy drive from Disney to the port.

Waiting for our FE to arrive from Ebay. :thumbsup2

Interesting that this thread has only 251 posts and over 5,252 views:confused3:confused3:confused:

I am new to the boards. Wanted to let you know that we (myself, wife, and 2 daughters) are arriving late the night before as well. We are staying at the Embassy suites, We went with a shuttle that was less expensive than the Disney transfers. If you are interested in the number go ahead and respond to this. We are so excited , we have been on cruises but this is our first Disney cruises! Our daughters are all about the princesses.

Cruise Meets:

Is there anyone who wants to plan a couple of these? Maybe one on the first day prior to the Sail-Away deck party so we can make contact and the kids can get to know eachother?

For all folks:

Even if you're not participating in the FE exchange - please feel free to send your info (from the first post) to me so that the group can get to know your family and if there are kids the same age.:wizard:

Welcome Pumpkin's GM & PatBrad28! Looks like everyone has been making lots of progress on their shopping and precruise plans. I still have to get my pets signed up for the kennel. The dog is always happy to go, the kitties...not so much! They always make me feel guilty when I drop them off.

Successful Shopping Trip!

I got a formal dress for DD for $10 and then 2 bathingsuits for her for $10 each! I love sales!!!

I'm new to the ship, where is a place that we could all meet before the sail away party? Should we all wear something (lime green mickey head?) to identify ourselves?

Tina

Hello fellow cruisers, How many of us are doing the FE ?Has anyone been to Tea with Alice on the ship? You have to get tickets, right? It won't be long now! I'm up for a get together, as long as I can get my 10 together!

I was actually going to take the lime green mickey heads from home depot - write our name and email on them and laminate them to stick on the luggage. Last cruise - we met half the people from our DIS group in the terminal because we all had that on our luggage.
