I just wanted to extend a special thanks to those who responded to my thread last spring and summer concerning renting an ECV. We went to WDW last summer after I had back surgery the previous December. With two kids, DD9 and DS3, I didn't want to slow them down or cause any hardships by using a scooter. I want everyone to know that I had no problems whatsoever other than fighting the crowds sometimes and learning how to board a bus-I was a pro by the time we left WDW!
I never had anyone make rude comments(I am overweight and my disability is hidden-I had read people can be very cruel when they don't see you have an obvious disability
). I don't want anyone to hesitate using a scooter if they need one. It saved me from having a very tiring and unenjoyable trip! I was able to park my ECV in the same area most of the time with the strollers and than walk to the lines. It's helps me to be able to stand, walk and sit at different intervals. At times I was able to stay in the scooter for shows, but for most rides I parked it and got in line with my family.
We are going back again this summer and I won't hesitate to use an ECV again! I rented the one last year from Walker Mobility and will do so again this year! I can't wait!!!!
Thanks again for everyone's help! I only hope this thread will encourage others to do the same!
