Many BWV studio questions

I am tossing around the idea of trying to rent points for a BWV studio the last week in January 2003.

Are all the balconies full balconies?

What are the laundry options for a studio.

Please explain the maid service. I know that it is not every day but how does it work?

Can park hopper be put on your room card. What about los tickets, are they an option with DVC rooms. If you are arrive late for checkin and checkout early, is it possible to have LOS shortened to exclude the first and last day?

Can you charge with your room card?

Are rooms assigned ahead of time or at check in?

What about refillable mugs?

I've seen construction mentionned, what areas are involved and how long will it go on? Have the rooms been rehabbed recently. If not, what is their condition?

Finally does anyone have any studio pics that they would like to share?

The balconies are not huge- they have a small table and two chairs and that's about it. There is free laundry. Trash and towel service is on the 4th day from check in - new linens, supplies and garbage taken out. You can pay extra for maid service if desired and also for extra set of towels. Your resort ID is like any other- room key, park passes and charge card all in one. Yes you can drop first and last day on LOS. Rooms tend to be assigned ahead, but you can always ask for a change when you arrive, if available. Yes there are refillables. Look at WDWIG for pics, not sure about construction.

I can answer the rehab question, all the preferred view rooms are almost done, next they will move to the other side of the building and do the standard view rooms. At the rate they are moving I would say the rehab will go on at least 4-6 more months.

Are all the balconies full balconies?

It depends, some have larger than normal balconies (certain dedicated studios have huge balconies), others are smaller. A normal balcony would have a small table, 2 chairs, be a little bit wider than the width of a double screen door and probably about four feet out from the building.

What are the laundry options for a studio.

Go to the pool and use one of the community machines. I think they sell soap and stuff at the machines or you can bring your own.

On the 4th day (after 3rd night), you will get full maid service, on the 8th day, you get trash and towel service (nothing more), on the 12th day you get full maid service, on the 16th day you get trash and towel, etc...

I think only LOS passes can be put on your room card. LOS passes are available at DVC resorts (you will get a 10% discount with your DVC membership I think). Last time I bought a LOS pass, there was an option to drop the first and/or last day of the stay.

I think unrehabbed rooms are still in good shape, they are apparently moving to the standard studios now. I don't think you will be assigned a room that is in anyway affected by construction.

I thought you got Trash and Towel service on the 4th day and full cleaning on the 8th. Of course you can opt to pay for more frequent cleaning/towels. I think BWV has laundry facilities throughout the building. I know OKW has the laundry at the pools I'm not completely sure about BWV. I've been disappointed with the balconies at BWV. We had a Studio with Luna Pool view but you couldn't see anything when you were sitting on the balcony because of the railings. Another BW view the balcony was so small that it was difficult for two people to sit together. The Master BR balcony was seperate from the living room one and they both were small.
You usually can opt to have passes and charges put on your room key.

If you stay 7 nights or less, you get trash & towel on day 4, no full cleaning. If you are staying 8 nights or more, you get full cleaning on day 4 and trash & towel on day 8, full cleaning on day 12, etc. Check-in day counts as day 1. A studio is $25 for an extra full cleaning, $10 for extra trash & towel. $6 for 4 sets of towels.
