is it worth doing in june

as i see virgin do the trip from orlando where u can swim with them

can i get better with a another company too

Sorry don't know the answer but can you even book it? When I booked aour August 07 trip way back in July 06 the trip was already fully booked! It is something I would love to do so does anyone know anybody else who does the trip?

If you are going in the winter months drive up to Blue Springs state park which take a drive up to Deleon sp;rings state park just inland from Daytona beach and they usually have many of these beautiful creatures resting there.

hey do not allow swimming with them but you can definitely see them in the wild and it is well worth the drive. If you go just a it down the road to Blue Springs State Park you can cook your own flavoured pancakes in their little restaurant.

We do this trip every time we are out there in the winter months.

If I may suggest, visit the website http://www.savethemanatee.org/adoptpag.htm for only a few dollars you can adopt a manatee and help save them from extinction but also you will get a discounted voucher so that when you have your holiday in Florida you can personally visit your adopted Manatee at Homosassa Springs on the Gulf Coast

We did this with Virgin some years ago.

Was a nice day out - included an airboat ride in the morning and then a long boat tour to find the manatees.

People were allowed to swim off the boat with them for something like half an hour.

do virgin pick u up from your hotel for this trip

also would it be worth doing in june, also what else do u do and see in the day
really thinking of booking this as it will make a change from the busy parks etc

We did this 3 years ago in Crystal River (Gulf Coast) We were staying in Orlando and booked direct with ProAmerican Diving Center at Crystal River. We drove up and stayed overnight in a wooden motel hut right on the water. My husband and I and our two daughters (5 and 8) all had a magical time swimming with the manatees in the wild and have a video to prove it! It was a truly memorable experience, even for a non water lover like me! We were there in Oct/Nov and I seem to remeber them saying that you were more likely to be sucessful in finding wild manatees at this time as I think they migrate at certain times of the year.
