I went to the last Chicago Wolves regular season home game tonight. Got my picture taken with the Wolves mascot. Wolves won 6-4, and I got hit by a flying puck. OMG is it painful! I feel lucky though, that I had my arms crossed in front of my chest and my arm got it instead taking it full on in the chest. The usher came over immediately and made sure I was okay and that I didn't need to see a medic. He came back a while later and gave me a puck to take home. I am going to be so bruised.

I caught a puck once during warmup that was the result of a slapshot that was deflected. It was coming at me full force and while my first instinct was to duck, I stuck my hand out and caught it. It hurt but I was fine. Some little kid came up to me and said, "I never caught a puck, can I have that one" This was me :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Sorry, if I have to deal with the pain, I'm keeping the thing that caused it.

I was at the Admirals game on Friday night when we crushed your Wolves.... ;) (only kidding of course)

This was my first Admirals game. I was surprised to see so many Illinois cars entering the parking lot! Hockey is such a cool sport. My daughters had a blast watching it all! The fans are SO much fun to see too.

Hope you are doing OK!

DH deflected one as it was headed for me....many years ago (at a California Golden Seals game, they were an NHL team in Oakland).

Made me nervous once, when a bunch of us went to a Sharks game and my Sis-in-law was reading! Watch the game - there are flying pucks!

glad you are ok. A puck to the chest could have had dire results.

Did anyone offer to sign the puck for you?

We now have a hockey team in Indep, Mo. Love the game. Sorry to hear your injury.

ouch be careful with that!

I have a chip out of a bone in my shoulder from being hit with a puck when I was a bystander. They are indeed painful!

Glad you are okay!

So, you have to give back the actual puck??

We went to the Monsters game last night and it amazes me how many people turn their back to the game. Yeesh!

BTW, did you get your pic on the Jumbo-tron? :)

Wow! I'm so glad it didn't hit you in the head. Glad everything turned out OK.

I was not on the jumbo tron. The guy two rows ahead of me scooped up the puck and while everyone around us was telling him he should give the puck to me, he pocketed it and later came to me and told me he would give it to me for $20.00. The guy behind me mentioned it to the usher after the 1st period and he was kind enough to get me one.

Ya' know every game they all ways tell you to watch for flying pucks. It happens sooo fast. I never even saw it coming.

I love hockey and I 'll be back in the stands for the 2nd play off game!

GO WOLVES!

What a jerk! I'm glad you are ok and got a puck for yourself, too! This idea always scares me at games (that and the baseballs!)

Ouch!! Glad to hear it wasn't more serious, but still.....OUCH!!!

I was at a Cardinals game several years ago when someone hit a foul ball that came in 1 section over from ours. It was a screaming line drive and smacked a man right in the nose and bounced off; it was hit so hard and came in so fast he had no chance to react. Basically, his nose kind of exploded in a geyser of blood. The ball deflected to a guy who was a couple of rows back and he was all jumping around triumphantly because he'd caught the ball. Once he saw the damage to the original "recipient," though (and once all of us shamed him severely), he gave it back to the poor bloody mess who was being led down the stairs by the medics.

Eeekk, I'm glad you're okay. I grew up watching my brother and dad play hockey, as well as playing myself, and I was hit numerous times by flying pucks as a child. SO PAINFUL!
When I was about 7 I was hit in the face, that's the one that I remember the most :goodvibes. I was okay but it hit my jaw bone and I had to have everything through a straw for a couple days.
I remember getting hit in the hand a few times too and not being able to move some fingers.
Rock solid frozen rubber flying at insane speeds after being wacked with incredible force.... Very dangerous.
:cheer2:

When I was younger we were at a Western Hockey League (minor league) game and a puck broke the glass. The glass rained down on this girl in the front row. She was taken out across the ice on a stretcher and there was a delay in the game while they had to replace the section of glass. I can't recall if she got hit with the puck as well as all the shards of glass. It was scary to watch from afar; I can't imagine what it would have been like if it was happening literally in my lap.

OP- I'm glad you weren't hurt badly. I hope the bruise heals well.
