Man (and woman) VS DDP May 2012 Photo Food Review

Wolfgang Pucks Express

We went for breakfast and I had the breakfast pizza and Henry had the breakfast pocket. Both were really nice - I forgot the camera though, I was still half asleep!

Later went for dinner, I got the mac and cheese again mmmmm

Henry got the 4 cheese pizza, this was delicious, I was very jealous and stole a bit! We didnt bother with dessert, too much food!

Grand Floridian Cafe

This was a last minute change of adr on the day we left  we had been before and really liked it

We picked an early lunch before the magical express picked us up. Again it was lovely, we had a great server and the restaurant is so light and pretty perfect for a quiet lunch.

Henry had the The Grand Sandwich - Open-faced hot Turkey, Ham, Bacon and Tomato, with a rich Boursin Cheese Sauce and Fried Onion Straws $12.49. He loved this, it was one of his favourite meals of the trip. I had a bite and it was lovely and creamy

I had the Rustic Chicken Sandwich - sun-dried tomato pesto, Dijon mayonnaise, and field greens served with fries. This was delicious, the chicken had lots of flavour and the fries were really tasty

We decided to share the sampler for dessert - this was a great decision :d:

The sampler had a Fresh Berry Tart, Boston Creme Pie, Key Lime Tart, and Lemon Cheesecake and a dark chocolate mickey.

It was all very nice, the lemon cheesecake was my favourite!

I won't post a picture of the chocolate mickey afterwards but her was a bit mangled!

We loved it here - it is on the list for the next trip ;)

Conclusions........

Well that's a wrap :cry:I hope I havent missed anywhere out...

In my jetlagged state I thought I would get this all written up whilst Henry watches the football, it has just made me a bit sad its over :(

We loved the trip and having the free DDP, but it really was too much food. I would have the free DDP again but I wouldnt pay for it. I dont think the counter service dining plan would suit, and I would probably collapse due to over eating or not be able to fit in the seat on the way home if I did the DXDDP :erm:

Were hoping to have purchased DVC before our next trip, and we want to stay in 1 bedrooms so will probably alternate between cooking and dining out next trip.

One little thing when we were boarding the plane Henry gave me an Ariel cookie (my favourite princess) to cheer me up on the plane home

I havent eaten it yet - he's definetly a keeper!:tongue::d:

I've enjoyed your reviews so much.

How sweet of your DH to give you that Ariel cookie! :lovestruc:

What a weird experience at Trails End :crazy2: . I doubt I will ever make it there ... I spend too much time at the Poly!

That lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe looked really good.

Sorry your trip is over -- I hate the post Disney Blues!! :sad2:

Wonderful reviews - thanks for sharing. You dined at a lot of places we have yet to try. I think GranfnFloridian Cafe and Saana are on my list for future trips!
:hippie:

Storybook Treats

I had spied these on the disney food blog as great snack credits, so during an evening in Magic Kingdom we sought these out

We were served by a lovely castmember from Sheffield who was earning her ears :)

We both got the hot fudge brownie sundae, Henry got vanilla ice cream I got chocolate and vanilla swirl. They were amazing and had the Main Street fresh bakery brownie in them - YUM!!!!

When were eating them people actually asked where they were from as they looked soo good.

Possibly the best snack credit ever ;)

Defo want to get these they look sooooo yummy. Can you tell me where you actually got them ..... sorry to be a bit dumb

Sleepy Hollow

I really wanted to try a funnel cake so off we went to Sleepy Hollow. I got one with cinnamon sugar on the top. It was nice....but not as nice as I was expecting it really needed the sugar on the top to sweeten it up. They are huge we only managed half of one!

If I wasnt on the DDP I would have paid more and got the one with strawberries and cream ;)

OMG my absolutely all time forever favourite thing .... a funnel cake ....... I can't wait to get back there just to get a warm freshly cooked funnel cake

We've got the free DDP when we go and I have to say it saves us huge amount of £££££££. The photos on my sig pic are now 5 years old so our 2 boys are now 14 & 16 and look down on their mum and also eat LOADS so having the DDP is an absolute lifesaver. We also like to have a TS dinner each night as it gives us time to catch our breath before we head off for the nights activities and also gives us the opportunity to eat food we wouldn't necessarily have at home.

Thank you for the frank and honest review and the wonderful pics .... it's definately food for thought :rotfl:

Wonderful review! All done in one day- amazing!!

Those sundaes look soo good, will have to remember to try them out.

Would be so very happy to find those strawberries/cream for breakfast every day.

Wow, what a great review! Thank you for sharing, I'm hungry now from looking at all the yummy food!!!

Thanks for sharing your reviews, I really enjoyed reading about your dining adventures! :thumbsup2

I loved your dining report. Some very great choices.

I had to laugh when you showed the funnel cake. DH and I shared one when we were dating. Well, I was taking a bite of it and he said something funny. Well, the powdered sugar went everywhere. All of him and me. It's one of our favorite memories. Whenever I see a funnel cake I can't help but laugh. :lmao:

Love the cookie! So sweet of him!
