Mama Melrose what was good / bad

I actually cancelled my reservations for Mama Melroses with Fantasmic last night. I'm worried about all the bad reviews too. We've eaten at Hollywood Brown Derby before and absolutely loved it so it made sense to go with what we know! I just felt that given sooooo many people have said the food was blah and service below par, we'd be better off eating at Hollywood Brown Derby! My husband loves it there so was very pleased when I told him. The way I figure it, there's not enough ambience to cancel out bad food. For instance, a lot of people don't care for San Angel Inn but we're going for the first time despite the bad reviews because of the amotsphere. Know what I mean? Soooo, there's my long winded answer as to why I changed our reservations from Mama Melroses to Hollywood Brown Derby.
