I remember some of my old favorites:

Pantastik
Foxmoor
Ups And Downs
Cavages
Beefy's Burgers

All were cool mall stores that I used to love during the 70's.

What stores did you love, but no longer exist?

I remember Foxmore!

Does anyone remember:
Gantos
Just Pants (pre-Gap)
Woolworths
Goldblats
Wiebolts
5-7-9

This End Up (furniture store) :thumbsup2

I liked Paul Harris, but the one I remember is Merry-Go-Round. They had really funky clothing. I remember when I was seventeen, I bought this stretchy red glittery skirt. I wore it to a party one night, and I thought I was hot stuff, lol.

I loved Paul Harris too!

I was a fan of the old Express as well w/the Neon Colored Madonna wannabees clothes....LOL!

Here's a quick question too....what was the name of the clothes stores for kids in the malls that had the regular doorway as well as the circular shag carpet doorway for the kids to go thru (like a tunnel)? I swore to someone that was the early version of Children's Place and they looked at me like I was crazy! TIA

I believe you are correct! :sunny:

Gantos and The Icing were my two favorites that I still miss.

It definitely was the Children's Place. I used to love going there! They also had this clear TV type of plaything inside the store...

Wicks 'n' Sticks! I used to buy their wax potpourri by the truckload.

There are still a few stores left, we have one and I love it.

Wicks 'n' Sticks can be found in these 9 Simon malls:

Battlefield Mall (Springfield, MO)
Century III Mall (West Mifflin (Pittsburgh), PA)
Columbia Center (Kennewick, WA)
Crystal Mall (Waterford, CT)
Eastland Mall (Evansville, IN)
Lakeline Mall (Austin, TX)
Montgomery Mall (North Wales, PA)
Roosevelt Field (Garden City, NY)
Town Center at Cobb (Kennesaw, GA)

For me on the East coast it was

DEBS==TELLOS==5-7-9==CHILD WORLD==SPENCERS

We still have Deb and Spencers. No more Child World or 5-7-9 that I'm aware of.

I used to love Spencers, but they went from trippy to junky. I rarely bother with them anymore. I used to love the way that store smelled in the 70's, like strawberry incense. :teeth:

There are still Spencers left! There is one in the mall in Memphis, Wolfchase Galleria! Its still as much fun to go in and look as it was when I was a teenager!

I also remember Merry Go Round! The loud music and the clingy clothes! I think I bought my first black leather mini skirt from there!

Casual Corner and Lerners

Casual Corner I'm not sure - but Galleria still has Lerners - although it's not quite the same Lerners as it used to be - it's much more upscale now - in other words, alot more unaffordable. ;)

We have Lerners here in a couple of our malls and a Casual Corner also. We have Spencers and 5-7-9

Orange Julious
Camelot Music (our mall had 2 record stores, can't remember the other one).
