hat is why both my cats are female, fixed and de clawed.
I adopted them as they were, I felt bad for them because of that.My sister swears her cat's peeing issues stopped when she added wet food into his diet, I would try that.
There is a reason states are moving to make declawing cats illegal, it's an awful, cruel procedure no cat should have to endure.
Thank you for giving them a forever home. Some adopters don't understand about declawed cats having special needs.I adopted them as they were, I felt bad for them because of that.
My vet said that same thing about "indoor cat" formula of food both dry and wet versions. It was one of the first things she asked us to be on the safe side though for that wasn't the type we had been feeding our cat.OP: what kind of food is he getting? When our cat (female) started having potty issues (around 3 years old), the vet checked for bladder stones, but didn't find anything. We discussed kitty Prozac. Then I did some research and found that one of her favorite wet foods (Wellness fish flavor) was known for causing bladder irritation in some cats. So we switched foods (no seafood anything anymore!) and started adding a capsule of D-Mannose to one meal every day. The potty issues stopped and haven't returned.
Good luck with the meds! Hope things work out!
OP, I highly recommend you watch some episodes of his show "My Cat From Hell". You'll start to get a feel for why cats do this and what you can do to help.I don't have cats but watch this guy a lot. Not real sure why maybe its the beard. Anyway he may have some solutions.

Maybe he can move into your vet's house then?Well Liquid meds are out- what a nightmare that was this morning.
To whomever said he is not spraying- he is actually doing both. I watched him jump up on my couch back up to the back of it and shake his hind end while leaving me his gift, then it runs down the back and onto the seat. He does pee on the beds though. He does want to go out- I know he does, but I can't stand the thought of it. The vet agrees with me- indoor kitty.
If you need pills instead, try wrapping them in "pill pockets". I had to give pills to a very sick cat a few years back. I dreaded it because I didn't want to cause stress to my sick cat. He happily took those pills wrapped in pill pockets off my hand. No fight needed.
Baby food is a great treat/bribe for cats! Just make sure the baby food doesn't contain any onions or garlic..... I crush it in a tablespoon of chicken baby food and he licks it up. You can try the med in chicken baby food.

Some people wrap pills in small bits of American cheese. They swear that works better for their cats than the Pill Pockets. Worth a try! With kitties, sometimes you just never know what's going to work.

I think Gerber's also makes a baby food that contains just chicken and water -- stage 2? We can't use tuna because it irritates our kitty's bladder. Not that that would stop her from scarfing it down! Agree about the pill pockets -- our little male is terrified of them -- maybe from bad history at the shelter?I use the Earth's Best chicken baby food. It's just chicken and water.
I've crushed it in a tablespoon of people tuna before too.
I never had luck with the pill pockets.
We adopted a declawed older cat, tried so hard to keep him indoors but we lost that battle. Thankfully he can take care of himself. He will only come home to eat and in extreme temperatures. It has to be below 40° before he even wants to sleep indoors and he comes home in the morning during the summer to spend the hot summer days inside.Declawed cats absolutely need an indoor only home, and not all people will agree to that. Thank you for adopting.
