Has anyone made a sourdough that uses instant potato flakes? I used to make this bread years ago, but let my starter die. I have the recipe to make the bread, but not one one how to make the starter. The starter was givien to me like freindship bread, but it was not a sweet bread.
I was given starter like this too but let it die. Your post got me searching and I found quite a few starter recipes. The one I had you fed with 1 cup of warm water, 3/4 cup of sugar and 3 TBS. of potato flakes. Did your recipe say the same?
One starter recipe I found had the same ingredients as listed above. It just stated to mix together, let stand on countertop for three days. Refrigerate. Feed with the same ingredients every three to five days. Use 1 cup of the starter in the bread recipe.
The other starter recipe contained the cup of warm water, 1/2 cup of sugar, 3 TBS. of potato flakes and 1 package of dry yeast. I'm going to mix up my starter tonight and I'll post my results later.
