Making the DVC Rounds...A March '11 PTR: TR link added p. 30

Your schedule looks great! I can't wait to hear about Via Napoli, I'm so excited to try it, but I read a lot of negative things about it on the restaurant boards. :confused3 I don't get how it could be bad, it's Italian food! :thumbsup2

Even though I'm not a Packers fan, I love seeing that Disney commercial with them winning the Super Bowl! :)

I am too. Really?! It seems like everything I've seen has been positive. Oh well, I know we'll like it. We aren't food snobs like some people tend to be. :snooty: Like you said, it's Italian food!

Me too. It was even better this year with the Packers in it. :goodvibes

Happy Sunday everyone! It really is a "sun" day here. The sun is shining, the snow is melting and it's almost 40 degrees. I went out to Kohl's to get my Packer sweatshirt today and it really felt like a heat wave after what we had earlier this week. LOL. Spring has got to be coming soon because it sure felt like it today! Plus our trip is getting closer and closer.

Since we're almost at 40 days, time for some more park plans. Next up? Epcot!

Sarah's Epcot Must-Dos

Epcot EMH
Tues. 3/29 AM EMH 8:00-9:00
Fri. 4/1 PM EMH

As I mentioned earlier, my goal is to get to each park atleast twice, including once for park opening. At Epcot, there's no question where we'll begin our day...SOARIN'!!!! I don't know if my sister is still going to want to ride Mission:Space since she won't be getting me on it...:rolleyes1 We usually get fastpasses but maybe we can just ride it right away and THEN get fastpasses.

Once we finish on Soarin, we'll have some time to explore/enjoy the rest of Future World. The only other "must-do" is Test Track (Test Track, baby!). So those two are our priorities, and then we can do attractions like:

:wizard: Spaceship Earth...didn't do that in August
:wizard: The Seas with Nemo and Friends...again, didn't get to ride in August. It's a cute ride and I love Nemo!

:wizard: Journey Into Imagination with :figment:
:wizard: Living with the Land

If my sister is willing, I think it would also be fun to spend some time in Innoventions. After reading about the exhibits in various books/magazines/trip reports it seems like there's a lot of cool stuff but we always overlook it (despite the fact that I've said I want to go in there...but we usually just rush through it). Maybe we can spend some time in there after we get our free photo at the Disney Visa Meet and Greet.

And then there's World Showcase. I know we both want to join team Kim Possible again and do some more of the World Showcase adventures. Seriously, we both may be in our 20s but they're so fun. :thumbsup2 I'm thinking maybe this time we can shoot for Mexico? (there is one in Mexico, right?!)

As we stroll around, I'm thinking it might be fun to get a picture in each country. I did this on another trip and it was kind of cool. But I think most of the highlights/must-dos in World Showcase involve eating! LOL. No trip to WDW would be complete without visiting the bakery in France (mmmm, croissants). I also hear there's a new caramel shop in Germany (mmmm, candy). And then of course we have our ADR at Via Napoli (mmmm, pizza). One thing that doesn't involve food is becoming Vikings and riding the Maelstrom.

We'll probably stick around then the night of our ADR to watch Illuminations.

Oh yes, and how could I forget the Flower and Garden Festival? I'm looking forward to seeing Epcot all dressed up for spring and seeing the new topiaries (I posted a link to that article a while back).

And since we're talking Epcot, I'll leave you with a new Quote of the Week from one of my favorite attractions at Epcot. I don't think I have to say which one. ;) All I know is that whenever I hear this, I always get chills. Love it!

"Soarin to tower, we are ready for takeoff."

Click HERE if you want to soar over California right now, and of course hear that awesome line! (you'll hear it at 2:30)

Feel free to share your Epcot favorites!

I think your must do's and my must do's look very similar. Of course, almost everything at Epcot is a must do for me at some point, I just love it there!

My friend and I did pictures around the world on one of our trips. It was hilarious. Although, I don't think we made it to every country. Hope you don't mind me hijacking your TR :rolleyes1, but here are a couple of my faves (I'm in the green top):

B]SOARIN'!!!![/B]

Test Track (Test Track, baby!).

Maybe we can spend some time in there after we get our free photo at the Disney Visa Meet and Greet.

We did SOARIN first too!, I mean we were the first ones on the ride on our Epcot day!

DH wouldn't do Test Track, but that didn't stop us! Kadence was laughing her head off the whole ride!

We did the photo, it was Mickey, Minne & Goofy!

Hi Sarah,
Looks like your plans are going well. And your trip is coming up so soon. I went to Turtle Talk on my last trip, what a cute attraction. It will be added to our short list. The Caramel shop is so good, don't miss it.
How exciting about the Packers. Did you miss watching football today too?

YES YES YES! Spend time at Innoventions! Howard and I are going to have time to either do that or really explore World Showcase by ourselves because the other 3 in our group are going to hop to DHS after our Le Cellier lunch. They really want to go on Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. Haha, it's that or we'll try to do 2 Kim Possible Missions this time!

Hi Sarah!! I'm sorry I never post in here and respond to your plans. I always forget. :headache: But here I am!

Anyway, I think the plans for Epcot look perfect! I like the idea of maybe just riding Soarin' first and getting Fastpasses, too. I still don't know either if I'm going to do Mission:Space. I'd kind of like to, but I know you never will. Since if I do it will be just me, maybe it won't take too long since I'll be a single rider. And the lines for that don't seem to get very long anyway. So I'll see. I'd also be up for spending time in Innoventions. I think we should do the Sum of All Thrills. Even if you decided you didn't want to actually ride it, it might be fun to just design something anyway. I don't know - just a thought! :goodvibes

As for World Showcase, I definitely want to do another Kim Possible mission. Mexico is the only one I didn't do last January, so I'd like to do that one. I also think you should do the one in either China or Germany. China was a challenging one, and I remember Germany having some cute things with it. Oh, and Japan was fun, too! Basically, I'd be up for doing any of them again! As for pictures, I don't know if I mentioned it to you or not, and that's what made you bring it up, but I definitely want to get something in every country. It is my goal to get a picture of and of me/us in every country.

I am also excited to be going during the Flower and Garden Festival again. I was looking through my pictures from May 2008, and I can't wait to see all the displays. That's going to be another thing that I'm sure we'll be getting tons of pictures of!

Oh, and I just remembered something you forgot! Although maybe you're not interested. But we've got to try and meet Duffy the Bear! He's got his Meet and Greet at Epcot. :)

Okay, I'm done. Sorry for this post getting so long! I've just been thinking so much about this trip lately because I am sooo excited! Having six full days is going to be good, because there is so much I want to do. I really can't wait - only 40 days!!! :cool1:

Hi Sarah's sister.

If you guys were the first one on Soarin,
did you come from the front of the park
or from the International Gateway?
I've been very close, but I've never made it on the first ride of the day.
I think it stinks in the morning, that both sides of Soarin isn't open.
I hate waiting 15 minutes to ride the 2nd ride of the day.

Your Epcot must do's look great! :thumbsup2 I always want to go on Soarin first, but sometimes it doesn't work out that way if we get to Epcot late. I'm hoping to get there when it opens this year!

I want to check out Innoventions too, I've never been in there, in all of my trips to Disney!

And Kim Possible sounds awesome!

I love Soarin!! :lovestruc:lovestruc I make my family ride it at least 3 times a trip!! HAHA!! My DH is like...."Really, Soarin' again" And I'm like..."YEP!!!"

Hi Sarah! :wave2:

Okay, I'm all caught up now. I love that you're going to be flying your Packer colors when you're down there. I got to watch the Superbowl at the ESPN Club on the Boardwalk and it was crazy! I'll be starting my TR so I'll send you a link. Got to see Aaron Rodgers in the parade. It was so exciting!

Love the plans for Epcot. Your must do's are a lot like mine! Definitely check out Innoventions. I did the Sum of All Thrills for the first time last week, and it was great!

Such wonderful Epcot plans!!! My favorites are Soarin', Test Track and Spaceship Earth. I hope to explore Innoventions this time too - I really want to try Sum of All Thrills and so does Joe.

Doesn't the caramel shop look amazing? YUM!!!!

Epcot is a great park but MK/AK are still my favorites!

Very fun pictures! Thanks for sharing. :thumbsup2

DH wouldn't do Test Track, but that didn't stop us! Kadence was laughing her head off the whole ride!

We did the photo, it was Mickey, Minne & Goofy!

Wow, that's awesome you were the first ones on! How'd you manage that?!

Aww, he didn't do Test Track? Even my mom will do TT and she is not a thrill ride person at all.

When my sisters and I were there in August we had Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy but in April it was just Mickey and Pluto.

Hi Sarah,
Looks like your plans are going well. And your trip is coming up so soon. I went to Turtle Talk on my last trip, what a cute attraction. It will be added to our short list. The Caramel shop is so good, don't miss it.

Ahh yes, Turtle Talk is cute. We've done that a couple times. I completely forgot about that though! Any recommendations for the caramel shop?

I was on such a high the Monday after the game it was so exciting. This past Sunday I kind of wanted to go back and relive it. haha

I think we'll have to try to do some of the Innoventions stuff.

haha, you aren't going to join them on Tower of Terror? Come on now. ;) Just kidding. You've got a lot of good options to choose from!

Yeah, we could do Sum of All Thrills. Though I kind of chickened out when me and dad were there. The machine your ride on looked kind of scary.:rolleyes1

I've done the Germany one but not China. I know Dad said you guys did that one but it'd be fun to try. Maybe we should do hats in each country like when we went into the Mexico pavilion and you and Emma wore the sombreros. :rotfl:

I forgot about Duffy! We can meet him if you want.

The F&GF starts really soon. It'll be interesting to see any pictures that pop up online. But they always look better in person.

39 days!

We've never been first one Soarin. :sad2: Or any ride for that matter. :sad2: I always wonder how early some people must get there to do that or HOW they get there so fast. Oh well, maybe some day...

Your Epcot must do's look great! :thumbsup2 I always want to go on Soarin first, but sometimes it doesn't work out that way if we get to Epcot late. I'm hoping to get there when it opens this year!

haha, we're always at the park before it opens...gotta be able to make those mad dashes for the popular rides.:rolleyes:

Whenever we go in it's usually just like in and out and we're done.

KP is so much fun!

I love Soarin!! :lovestruc:lovestruc I make my family ride it at least 3 times a trip!! HAHA!! My DH is like...."Really, Soarin' again" And I'm like..."YEP!!!"

Ohhhh I'm so jealous you got to see Aaron. I have to admit, I did think of you after they won and was wondering if you were going to get to see him. I hope you took a lot of pictures. ;) I found a video on youtube of people watching the Super Bowl at Pop Century and it was kind of crazy. I can't imagine what the ESPN Club/Boardwalk was like!

Such wonderful Epcot plans!!! My favorites are Soarin', Test Track and Spaceship Earth. I hope to explore Innoventions this time too - I really want to try Sum of All Thrills and so does Joe.

Doesn't the caramel shop look amazing? YUM!!!!

I know my dad and sister did Sum of All Thrills last Jan. and they really liked it. I might have to give it a shot.

The caramel shop sounds so good!

I like the idea of hats around the world! That would be fun. :thumbsup2 But I was also thinking that I want to get a picture by a landmark in each country (for example, by a totem pole in Canada or the pagoda in Japan). So we could do both, so we could match the hat with the country. :)

Yeah, we could do that too.

34 days to go!!! Less than 5 weeks now!

This past week I received some Disney mail. First up was my AP newsletter, the Mickey Monitor!

100_6842.jpg

As you can probably tell by the cover the feature was on the Flower and Garden Festival. There was an interesting story about creating the topiaries and then they even had a list of some of character topiaries that you can find at Epcot. It might be fun to take along and see if we can find them all!

And then the other day we got our Magical Express packet!!!

100_6844.jpg

I had been waiting for it all week because I know it usually comes when we're about 40 days away. hehe It's a sure sign our trip is coming up soon. Woo hoo!! :goodvibes

So with only 5 weeks left now, I'm going to try to do a Quote of the Week regularly to finish off the countdown. This one comes from one of my favorite attractions, although it's not the same spiel anymore. :sad2: I have to say it's kind of a bummer, I liked the old one better. I tried to find a video of it on youtube but had no luck. Anyway, the quote comes from the Thunder Mountain safety spiel. It used to go something like this:

"Howdy folks, please keep your hands and arms inside the train and remain seated at all times. Hold on to your personal belongings now, especially those hats and glasses, cuz this here is the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

I admit I had to do a search to get the wording, though I don't remember it being that grammatically correct. (I thought it was something like hang on to those personal belongings now, especially them hats and glasses) Does anybody else remember the old spiel? :confused3

Great update! I'm glad you got your DME stuff. I've had my AP since Oct and still haven't gotten a Mickey Mon in the mail :( I read the one that they send me through email but I haven't gotten one in snail mail yet :( Oh well!!

I think the quote is something like "Howdy Partners, please keep your hands and arms inside the train and remain seated at all times. If any of you folks are wearing hats or glasses, best remove them cuz this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness" I could be wrong but that may be the new one haha. Did you check youtube??
