I just wondered, I just e-mailed my reservation request for July 2005 (using the 7 month window). I requested a 3 BR at BCV (a 2BR with adjoining studio). Does anyone have experience as to this, are you better off e-mailing, or should I have called first thing Monday (our 7 month window date is actually tomorrow, Sunday). THANKS!

Do you mean the "11 month" window? July would be 11 months from now.

I've always called. To me it is just easier. I know right away if I've gotten what I wanted. Can anyone say "instant gratification"?

Maybe someone else knows if it would create confusion calling and emailing.

Good luck!

I prefer to call. Like lsutigger2 said, instant gratification. Plus, I hear the turnaround time for emails is not as instantaneous as a phone call.

GOOD LUCK! :sunny:

You won't have a problem getting a reservation for a 2 bedroom and a studio next July even though you emailed. I do agree with the others, though. Personally, I like to call and know right away .

Whether calling or emailing, though, your request for "adjoining" is by no means assured. That is just a request and will depend on what rooms will be available on the day you arrive. I assume you know that there are no "3 bedroom" units at BCV and that is why you asked for "adjoining". None of the 2 bedroom units at BCV actually connect to a studio. There may be studios that are next to 2 bedroom units, but I don't know for sure.

Anyway, good luck!

<font face="times" size="+0">I've had experience making reservations via E-mail, Website form, and Phone, and I tell you, DVC has got some way to go as far as E-mail and Website go.

First choice, try to book via Phone if possible.
Second choice, try to fill out the Website form if possible. I once emailed them to book a room, and they took 2 days to reply, only to tell me that they don't accept reservation requests this way (which quite frankly is BS, because I've heard of other people booking via email), and want me to go fill out the website form instead of emailing them.
Last choice is emailing. Actually, I'll never go this route again. It's best to start off the process by filling out the website form (which is just generating an email to MS anyway). Then you can complete the transaction w/ any questions etc via email, but it's a very slow process. Only do this if you aren't concerned about rooms selling out, when it's okay to take about a week to complete a booking. MS is very slow about email these days. In fact, I've been pissed off about MS' handling of emails quite a few times.

Uh oh, I've already sent the e-mail and I'm sure calling on Monday will cause additional confusion. Thanks for the advice, now I know for next time.

I didn't realize they didn't have adjoining studios to the 2 BRs. I knew they didn't have 3BRS. So I guess the parents of the 4 children will be in the studio and the 4 kids will be split between the other bedroom and the pull-out in the living room (3 are little, 6,7,9, the 4th is a 13 year old girl who deserves some peace!)
