I have been reading some of the posts and it seems as if you are able to pay for your trip in installments. Is this true and standard practice? Is it just for Disney resorts and/or certain TA's?

If you book through Disney you can make payments. When you book your vacation package you will be required to leave a $200.00 deposit. Minimum payments would be $20.00. Your entire trip has to be paid off 45 days before you travel. :wave2:

The $200 deposit and 45-day deadline are for packages. If you book a room-only reservation, then you must make a deposit equal to one night's stay (with tax) at the time of reservation. The balance is not due until check in but you can still make iterim payments on the balance.

Can you do airfare, tickets, dining plan everything that way? And how do I do it? through Disney.com or another website? I am so excited now!!!

I have been making payments on my trip in Dec. since about a month after I made the ressies! :flower: We are staying in the FW cabins for 2 weeks and I have a balance of $400.00 at this point. :cool1: I call once a month and make a payment. I think you can make payments on line now. I have not tried it myself but the option is listed on the website if you open up your existing reservation. :wizard:

If you book a package (room, park tickets, dining plan)you can do the deposit and then make payments. Your final payment of the remaining balance would stillbedue 45 days before arrival. Some travel agents certainly may be able to add airfare to a package for you under the same payment options. (I don't think Disney offers airfare packages :confused3 ) However, I would suggest watching airfares and booking those yourself (especially if you can fly out of a city with a low cost carrier - Southwest, etc.)

If you book a package that includes all of these, then yes, you can do it that way. My personal preference would be to go thru DreamsUnlimitedTravel to book the trip and then make my payments online thru them. The reason I would choose DU is that they will try to get you any discounts that you're entitled to, while the Disney website will not. In addition, DU will book your PSs for you rather than you having to call Disney Dining yourself to do it.

Disney does offer an airfare choice when booking your package. You don't have to the airfare through disney though. You're probably better off trying to find cheaper airfare than disney will give you with Southwest or some other airline like that. :wave2:

WE have booked our whole trip through wdw site, our airfare was as good a deal as any I could find for the month I was searching before I commited, I put the $200 down on the CC and they sent me a balance sheet showing my amount due and dates that it must be paid in full 45 days before. In there was a envelope for disney travel, I copied my sheet with my account numbers and balance and I have been sending monthly checks (keeping my check numbers incase) and I havent had a problem doing this. Each month I have gottan one back (about 2 weeks after sending payment) showing the updated amount due. Good luck and enjoy your vacation! :cheer2:

I have mine through Dreams too. I pay whenever I have some extra money plus any money I make off EBAY. I plan to have it paid before October.

Right now I am waiting for a medical reimbursement to go on the tirp.

For me making payments was the best way to do it. I did book my air myself though and it was cheaper than what they wanted from Disney.

Love having the trip paid off before I go. It is really a vacation when you don't have to come home to vacation bills!

We booked everything, including airfare, through disney for our August trip. I call twice a month and make a payment with my debit card when I get paid, this way none of it goes on credit and the trip is totally paid for when we get there. The airfare was $150 roundtrip from Pittsburgh, which is really good. It was not on SW, which means we may actually get to sit together! :flower: When we booked, we had to pay the $200 downpayment plus the airfare.

That is a great rate out of Pittsburgh! Is it a US Airways/United flight?

I've NEVER flown before, but do you mean that if you book 3 tickets, you might not sit together. It would be our first flying experience for all of us and I wouldn't want DD sitting alone or even sitting without all of us together. Can you request seats together?

Most airlines assign seats in advance and you would most likely have your whole group sitting together. Southwest has no assigned seats, so there's no guarantee your group will find seats together.

With Southwest there are no pre-assigned seats. They assign boarding groups by first come first served at check-in. A & B groups usually take up the aisle and window seats. Trying to get seats together can be tough especially in the C group and towards the end of B.

I do think that they allow those with small children to board with the A group so they can be together. Not sure of the age for that.

So, if your flying Southwest, the best thing is to check in early? How early would you normally check in?
