Alright, the last time I asked a question like this I was told that I should have already known the answer because I have posted alot on DIS. So, I will make it clear this time. I'm asking this stuff because I really don't know and am trying to best plan my trip. That being said . . .

I am super excited! :bounce: Tomorrow I get to make the first PS for my honeymoon. I have never done this before. So, first I need a little information, if you wouldn't mind.

1. I have the WDW Dine number but I was wondering if there is a toll free number I can dial instead. (Keep in mind, I'm in Canada.)

2. What time does the restaurant PS line open? Can I call before it opens and wait on the line?

3. I know I'm crazy but I have butterflies in my stomach. Any encouragement or tips for me?

FYI, my first ever PS is for the first day of our honeymoon on July 3rd (shortly after we arrive) at San Angel Inn in Epcot. We are hoping for a 4:00pm seating.

Ali

Good luck! You'll do fine - everyone gets butterflies their first time.

I don't know about a toll free number. The line opens up at 7. You can't get through until then. Usually the first people calling at 7 are for CRT or PSB.

Have fun!

You must be so excited. Call 1-800-828-0228. I believe they open at 7:00. It should be easy to get seating now for the Epcot Restaurants. Don't forget LeCellier in Canada. Great steak. Try one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian. It is such a romantic hotel. Check out the menu's on Deb's All Ears website.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have checked out menus repeatedly....believe me. :) My DFi thinks I'm nuts.

When you say 7:00 you mean Eastern Standard Time, right?

Also, one thing I forgot to ask. I can't book all my PSs for my whole trip right? I have to call 90 days before the exact day that I need one? So, while I can make a PS for July 3rd tomorrow, I can't call until Tuesday to make one for July 4th? Hope this makes sense.

It is very encouraging to hear that I shouldn't have a problem getting seating for the restaurant I want!

Ali

Yes EST 7:00 am. You'll have to book each day - 90 days out. Probably the most important day is 7/4 since I've heard it's very busy.

Ali,

Yes, those times are Eastern Standard Time. And I don't think you'll have any problem at all getting San Angel Inn for the time you want. In fact, I know you're very excited about calling, but I would even recommend waiting a little while, maybe until about 8am or so, to avoid the throngs of people calling to get CRT and the highly coveted PS's. Of course, with this being your first PS, if you decide to go ahead and call right at 7am, can't say that I blame you! ;)

And yes, PS's for each day can only be made 90 days out or closer from the date of that particular PS. So if tomorrow is 90 days from July 3, then Tuesday will be the day you'd call to get PS's for July 4, Wednesday for July 5, etc.

Have fun and enjoy - this is just another part of the planning that makes a WDW trip so special!

Well, we'll be making our reservation for the fourth on Tuesday. We'll be eating at Donald's Breakfastosaurus.

I just called the toll-free number you gave to make sure it would work from here (sort of a test run :) ) and it does! Now I know that I press option 3 (after that woman stops yaking) then enter my reservation number followed by the pound key, then my home phone number followed by the pound key. After that it asked me if I've ever visited the World before. I'm not sure what to choose. I have visited but the last time I was 12 so I should really say no. However, I'm tempted to say yes because it might get me through faster. Any suggestions? What's the difference? Does it matter what option you choose? I'm assuming it's just for marketing purposes.

Ali

Kacee, if I don't get through within 45 minutes I will have to call back later in the day. You see, I'm in the Atlantic Standard Time zone which means I'm an hour ahead. So by 7:45 EST I will have to leave for school. That means, I won't be able to call back until the afternoon. Do you think I'll have a problem if I have to wait until then to call? Can anyone suggest a back up restaurant? We want to spend that afternoon/evening in Epcot.

Hi Ali,
Don't worry, you're right; it is for marketing/demographic purposes. Answering yes or no won't move you along faster!

Good luck, I hope you get all the times you want!

You'll be fine! You could even wait until Tuesday and make both reservations. They really don't sell out of every PS available at 90 days out. I have called the week before our trip many times and made my PS's. Only the really "hot" things like CRT sell out right away. I think San Angel at 4pm is not gonna be a problem.

Good Luck :goodvibes

What kind of marketing/demographic purposes. I too have been to the parks and resorts 4 or 5 times, but the latest was about 20 years ago. When I made my ressies the cm asked if I had been before and I thought if I knew the exact answer I would either win something or be denied a perk???

That's exactly how I feel. ::yes:: I'm always so confused as to what to say to that question. I have been saying that I haven't been before because I don't want to miss out on any mailings or things that they send to newbies.

Also, do you think that any of the PSs I plan to make would possibly book up if I don't have my finger on the trigger first thing 90 days out? This is where we plan to eat:

July 3rd - San Angel Inn (4:00pm)
July 4th - Donald's Breakfastosaurus (as early as possible)
July 7th - Fantasmic Dinner Package @ Hollywood & Vine (We'd like to 12:00pm but I don't know if we are allowed to eat that early.)
July 8th - Rainforest Cafe in DTD (12:00pm)
July 9th (a Saturday) - Cinderella's Royal Table (8pm)

well, the only ones I wouldn't worry about at all are the San Angel Inn and the RFC. The others are pretty hot items especially CRT. You'll be able to get Donalds pretty easily but the early time is what's hot with that one. The Fantasmic Dinner Pkg probably won't allow you to eat that early, I would guess somewhere in the 3o'clock range would be the earliest.

So, to make a long answer short, I'd call 90 days out from Breakfastosaurus to do the San Angel Inn and Breakfastosaurus. Then I'd call 90 days out from Fantasmic for that one. Then I'd call 90 days out from CRT for RFC and CRT. That's what I would do! By the way, are sure about your 90 day mark? It's not always exactly 3 months...like 4/3 being 90 days from 7/3. Somewhere around here there's a link to a PS calculator that will tell you your dates....but as organized as you are, you've probably already got it covered, just thought I would mention it.

From what I hear the only ps that fills up asap is cinderella's breakfast.
Looking at your plans I would guess only the July 4th breakfast would go fast, being that its also holiday.

Can't tewll you exactly, you'd have to ask someone in Disney's marketing department! But demographics are very important for advertising and marketing purposes. Maybe they just want to know that X% of their visitors are repeat visitors and Y% are first time visitors.

I think this is excellent advice! :)

Well, I couldn't wait so I got up this morning and made my first PS for San Angel Inn. I waited about until about 7:30 for the PSB and CRT rush to die down and I go through rather quickly. I was only on hold for a couple of minutes. I was expecting much longer. The CM told me that the earliest I could book San Angel Inn for dinner was 4:30pm. So that's what I did. Now, I got to get on the line first thing in the morning for Donald's. Thank you all so much for your help. :)

Ali

Congratulations and good luck for the rest!

Does anyone know if all ps can only be reserved 90days max in advance. I had read somewhere that Boma could be 360 or 270 days and Whispering Canyon 180 days. Was I just dreaming?

Funny thing! I got a ps for San Angel Inn this morning and just checked my e-mail. There was my monthly newsletter from pscalculator.net with San Angel Inn in the spotlight! Do you think that's a sign that I chose the right restaurant. lol
