Making Her Wishes Come True: Surprise Proposal Trip!

Wowowoww, this is so adorable!!! I hope you have a good hiding spot for the ring, because six months is a while to keep such a pretty thing hidden :)

Thanks for checking in and I'm glad I could give you some other insight. Right now it's more about making sure I have my ADRs in order and my day by day outline figured out. Then I'm going to move onto to specifics of HOW exactly the proposal will go down. I suspect I will need some Disney magic pixiedust: from a cast member or two on the Trek to help pull it off.

That's fine that you're not huge into sports but I'm glad to hear you still occasionally go to a game. I've been a Reds fan my whole life and nothing has been more thrilling to me than this rejuvenation we have seen the last 3 years.

I'm not that into baseball, but even I have enjoyed this! :thumbsup2 We've got free tickets for a game again this summer thanks to the Straight A program through the school. We always enjoy going to these. Such fun! Thanks for the Reds reminder, I need to figure out which game we want tickets for. I better ask DH tonight. :hippie:

Even during the bad years my dad and I would always go to at least one game a year. Over the past few years that has gone up and last year we went to 4 or 5. Which is a lot for us considering we have to drive from Dayton every time.

It's been a blast to finally have a baseball team to support and that I actually WANT to spend money on.

It's been several years since I have gotten to a baseball game. When the DSs were in elementary school, their district always had a night at the Ballpark. Our youngest DS doesn't like the noise and crowds at the games. I tried to convince my grandmother, who will be 90 in April, to let me take her to a game. She has loved the Rangers since they moved to Texas, but she thinks a game would be too hard on her. I'm hoping we can make it to a game this year though.

It's currently hidden in a fireproof case in a closet that she doesn't know about. :thumbsup2

As an insurance agent I must advise you to schedule your ring onto your renters/home policy. It won't cost very much and it will cover the ring worldwide. If you have already done it, please disregard my advise :goodvibes

We have never eaten here before even though I've always wanted too. The food is very us and it'll be nice not to have to worry about ordering something off a menu. We will both be definitely sharing a Lapu Lapu as this will be the dinner the night after I propose. What a better way to celebrate than Dinner @ O'hana and then Wishes afterwords?

I seriously suggest sharing the Lapu Lapu, I know people rave about it but I found it very strong when I tried it on our last trip. I acutually had to wait for the ice to melt to water it down to be able to drink it.

I guess it appears I have a fair amount of readers, but not many commentators. Where is everyone at!? Don't be shy! I don't bite. At least I hope it's shyness, otherwise that just means I'm not interesting enough. :sad1: Good news is I'm just 12 days away from ADRs! :cool1:

You are interesting unfortunatlly life has been keeping me from the dis I even negelgted my own PTR for a bit. Look forward to hearing more

Yea there is no way we could get one of those each. Not only is it cost prohibitive but I have heard the same things as far as strength goes. :drinking1 It sounds like a lot of people have been busy lately. No worries! Thanks for stopping back in. :wave2:

I agree very much so and have already planned on doing it. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Since I've done all of the Yes, Maybe, No's now and I cannot make ADRs until Monday, I figured today may be a good day to do a real life update.

**Savings Goal Update**

Like I have said, I've been saving like a mad man for this trip as it was just a few short months ago that I only had a couple hundred dollars saved up for it. My budget for the trip is $2800, (Over estimation of expenses was $2500). So far of that savings goal I have $1660 saved! I think it's safe to say I will make my goal before it comes time to leave on the trip :cool1:

**Disney Surprise!**

My mom is about to have her 50th birthday in November. For my dad's 50th we went to WDW over Christmas and that was his present as we really wanted to make it a big trip. Well I just found out that we are going to do something similar for my mom's 50th too. However, my mom has always wanted to go to California, so that's what we're doing over New Years this year. We will have two days to do Disneyland and DCA which I have always wanted to visit, but never could simply because of cost! :cheer2: We also have tickets to see the Rose Bowl Parade on new years day! It's going to be a great time, not to mention the fact that now Hannah and I will have 2 Disney related trips within 3 months of each other. pixiedust:

What a great Disney Surprise. It will be so nice after coming back from the proposal trip to have another one in the works. I imagine after all the planning that will go into your surprise trip and then the actual event, it may feel like a let down to have to come home and go back to real life (although the 2 of you will then have another huge even to plan for :cool1:). Knowing that you have another trip coming up shortly after will make coming home not so bad.

There definitely will be a huge letdown after this trip is over. There was a pretty big one after our last trip because I didn't think I was going to be back there for a LONG time. Now I know after this trip we will probably have an extended absence since we're going to want to go on vacations to other places before returning.

The trip to DL will definitely help, especially since we have never been there (anyone in my family). I'm really excited to get to DCA and ride the Carsland ride and see World of Color.

Good luck with all of your planning.

Oh and GO HAWKS! :thumbsup2

Thank you for the well wishes!

Go Hawks indeed! I thought we would have a solid team this year, never saw this coming. :thumbsup2

:dance3::dancer::dance3::banana: That is awesome you've been able to save like that.

Sounds like it's going to be an awesome trip!!

That is wonderful! You have a great year ahead of you!!!
(and not just for vacations, you'll have some 'other plans' to work on too... :lovestruc)

So, I'm more than a little miffed right now. This whole time My Disney Experience has given me today as my 180 day mark. So, I concocted this whole thing where I have to come into work early this morning so that I could be away from Hannah to make the call. Turns out my 180 days is tomorrow. So, now I'm at work early for no reason and I'm going to have to be super sneaky tomorrow to pull it off.

:sad2:

That really stinks. I feel your pain! Good Luck coming up with another excuse. :headache:

Mine appears to be showing the right date. I just haven't been paying much attention to it, since it has been having a ton of bugs.

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes yesterday it really made my day better after the huge letdown that I couldn't book my ADRs. I'm actually on-call for work this month, so this morning I was able to parlay that into sneaking outside on the guise of a work related call to call the reservations hotline. The result as you see in the title is that ADRs are made! :cool1:

Monday
  • 'Ohana @ 6:35 (Time to eat then get ready for Wishes :goodvibes )

Tuesday
  • Be Our Guest @ 6:30 (Couldn't get California grill, story below)

Wednesday
  • Jiko - The cooking place @ 6:20 (So excited to try this new one)

Thursday
  • Via Napoli @ 6:20

Friday
  • Chefs de France @ 12:30 (Rounds out everything perfectly)

I was told I cannot book California Grill for Tuesday because they do not have a solid re-open date for it yet since it's under renovations. This is a huge bummer for me considering it was probably the #2 most important restaurant of the trip. I KNOW she will love Be Our Guest if we get stuck with that, since Beauty and the Beast is her favorite movie. Plus, this will give us more time in Magic Kingdom that night. I'm going to keep trying for California Grill though. I cannot express how bad I want to eat there.

Your reservations look awesome! You are going to most of the restaurants I am considering for November. Fingers crossed for California Grill!!
