I was trying to get this up here this weekend but every chance I had was thwarted by Hannah. I'm not taking a chance and ruining this surprise, it's simply become too big for me to ruin it now :goodvibes

Anyway, here is my touring plan for us. I hope you enjoy. :cool1:

MONDAY
  • Animal Kingdom EMH
  • Wild Africa Trek @ 9 or 10am
    • PROPOSAL!
    • This takes care of lunch
  • Dinner @ O'Hana
    • WISHES!

TUESDAY
  • Epcot EMH
    • Goal is to get Futureworld done
  • Magic Kingdom around lunchtime
    • Goal is to get minor rides done and FP any major rides we can
  • Dinner @ California Grill

WEDNESDAY
  • MGM Rope drop
    • We're staying all day in this park until our ADR
    • This is our only real time in this park
  • Dinner @ Jiko or Sanaa

THURSDAY
  • Magic Kingdom EMH
    • Straight to New Fantasyland
    • Get done anything we haven't done yet.
  • Epcot around Lunchtime
  • Dinner @ Via Napoli
  • ILLUMINATIONS!

FRIDAY
  • FREE DAY!
    • Do anything we missed or want to re-ride
  • Lunch @ Chef de France
  • FANTASMIC!
    • There may be a Friday the 13th party in MGM after this.

Sounds like a good plan.

I guess it appears I have a fair amount of readers, but not many commentators. Where is everyone at!? Don't be shy! I don't bite. At least I hope it's shyness, otherwise that just means I'm not interesting enough. :sad1: Good news is I'm just 12 days away from ADRs! :cool1:

No, you are interesting. It's been very busy around here. I'm a stay at home mom, that lives with the in laws to help with their health. I am a full time student. Last week a major project was due and this week is finals. Plus, I'm planning a last minute mini-vacation to San Antonio for next month.

I thought I would start with my ride lists and priorities in today's post:

Magic Kingdom

YES!
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Haunted Mansion (One of my favorites)
  • Pirates of the Caribbean (One of her favorites, loves the movies)
  • Mickey's Philharmagic (Both loved this one last time)
  • Peoplemover (We both like how relaxing this ride is)
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle (Her favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast)
  • Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (Too funny to skip)
  • Under the Sea
  • It's A Small World (Classic)
  • Jungle Cruise (Classic)
  • Disney World Railway

Maybe
  • Tomorrowland Speedway (I'm sad we didn't do this one last time)
  • Enchanted Tiki Room (she needs to experience this classic)
  • Tom Sawyer Island (If we're looking for a way to relax)
  • Peter Pan's Flight (If the line is short)
  • Mad Tea Party (she doens't like spinny rides so this is up in the air)
  • Astro Orbiter (I miss riding this ride)
  • Dumbo (only if we feel like it because it's a classic)
  • Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin (She hated this one last time)

No
  • Barnstormer (doesn't interest us)
  • Country Bear Jamboree (Same as above)
  • Hall of Presidents (Did this two years ago, hasn't changed)
  • Stich's Great Escape (Did this last time, she wasn't impressed)
  • Carousel of Progress (Same as above)

I love your doing this and that it's not a "we're going to do these rides, in this order" kind of thing. Actually, I think I'll do it for our trip as well. I have been meaning to get to the Enchanted Tiki Room and Country Bear Jamboree just so I can say I have done them. We took the DSs to see Hall of Presidents on one of their first two trips, but didn't on the last. Since our youngest son really hates the current president, I think we'll skip it this time as well. Then I want to make sure not to miss Carousel of Progress. I know it needs to be updated, but there is just something special about it.

Glad you think so, I know she is beautiful, sometimes I worry about msyelf  Sounds like everyone who has commented on the ring thought I have done a good job with it so that makes me feel really good about that too. :goodvibes NO, YOU ROCK!!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a good plan.

Thanks, the only part I'm worried about right now is not having much time in MK before our California Grill reservations on Tuesday. But the park closes at 7pm that night anyway so we won't be missing much. Plus, it's projected to be the emptiest of the parks that day.

WOW! You are busy! To be honest I don't know if I could juggle all of that. You'll have to let me know how that trip to San Antonio goes. Thank you for checking back in :thumbsup2

I'm not really a ride by ride planner and no offense to those who are, I just don't see how they keep it all straight without getting stressed. I know I would be looking at my watch all the time tapping my foot and saying stuff like "We're 5 minutes late to be in the line for Mad Hater! :rotfl2:

Last time we went I had a list of things we absolutely had to do and we tour the parks with those in mind. Even having a mini game plan of what we wanted to do first and such, but we never got stressed if something didn't go right or we had to change our plans. Now that she's seen most of it we can slow it down a little more and do it this way. I'm excited to not have to stress over making sure we fit things in.

I meant to ask you when I commented about the ring, but forgot. Do the rubies have any significance, like her birthstone or maybe just her favorite stone? It really is a beautiful ring, but is even more special since you designed it.

What time are you going to try and make the ADR for? I know that should be a MNSSHP night. They won't have Wishes, but the will have the special MNSSHP fireworks. Are you going to try and get an ADR so you can be seated during the fireworks? We did this on our last trip and we were seated right next to the windows during Wishes. It is one of my favorite all time family memories (only 2nd to watching Wishes with the DSs on our first trip looking right down Main Street).

WOW! You are busy! To be honest I don't know if I could juggle all of that. You'll have to let me know how that trip to San Antonio goes. Thank you for checking back in :thumbsup2

Thank you. It can get crazy at times. Luckily my DSs are 14 & 15 now, so they are much easier to take care of.

I'll make sure to let you know. It isn't until the last weekend on the month. The DH and I haven't been to San Antonio since our 6th wedding anniversary, almost 12 years ago. The oldest DS hasn't been since he was 6 months old, and the youngest has never been.

We're not either. We do more of a mental version of what you have down. We have our list of "must do's", our lists of "heck no's", and our list of "if we ride it, ok, if not, no tears shed".

The rubies are both of our birth stones. We were both born in July. Not to mention that they are her favorite stone, partially for that reason. I hope she will like it, took about a month of designing and 6 months waiting for them to get it 'just right'.

I'm not sure exactly what time I will be looking to get them for really. It's probably going to be more of a 'what they have available' kind of thing for both O'hana and California Grill as I suspect both of those will be booked pretty solid already by guest who have used their +10 to get a table. I guess later would be better so we can maximize our time in MK. Maybe like 7ish?

Sounds like you guys will have a lot of new experiences and memories to make! I've never been to Texas but it's a place I'm going to want to visit at some point for sure.

We're not either. We do more of a mental version of what you have down. We have our list of "must do's", our lists of "heck no's", and our list of "if we ride it, ok, if not, no tears shed".

Yea, it sounds like both of our families are 'middle ground' between "we must plan everything" and "We just ride it when we come to it". I know I watch the wait times and try to go against the flow of traffic to maximize our rides and minimize our waits, but I definitely will never use a touring plan.

You guys are adorable! I love that you are a Disney lover and a trip planner! I have two teenage DS's and I'm trying to mold them into someone like you!:thumbsup2 I can't wait to read your TR and the details of the proposal!

Well thank you very much! :) I hope your sons turn out how you would like them too. If you're this nice to a random stranger on the internet, then I feel like they will :thumbsup2

Alright we are just 10 days away from ADR's and I figured I would so another edition of "Yes, maybe, no". This time it's the Epcot Edition! :cool1:

YES!
  • Soarin' (Probably her favorite ride in all WDW)
  • Test Track (We both liked the old version, kinda wary on the new one)
  • Mission Space (On the Orange side or nothing!)
  • Spaceship Earth (Classic ride, you just can't skip it)
  • Turtle Talk with Crush (One of the cooles shows.I like how Crush interacts with the kids)
  • Journey into Imagination (One of my all time favorites. Just wish they would bring back the Dreamfinder)
  • Sum of All Thrills (Didn't even know this existed last time. Excited to try it out.)
  • Maelstrom (She hasn't ridden it, but I like it)

Maybe
  • Gran Fiesta Tour (Skippable, too cheesy for me.)
  • Ellens Energy Adventure (Stupid Judy, stupid energy.)
  • Living with the Land (This is an interesting ride, been awhile since I've been on it)
  • The videos in each country (some are good, some not so much.)
  • The Seas with Nemo and Friends (Cute ride if we can fit it in.)

No
  • Circle of Life (Never done it, have no interest to.)
  • Captian EO (Did this once, will not subject her to this.)

Before I read this, I thought she would love it. After reading your post, she would be certifiably insane to not love the ring.

You never know. We didn't book our early June 2012 trip until mid-February to mid-March 2012. I was able to get an ADR for California Grill that had us seated for the fireworks.

Another good lookin' list!! I feel the same way about Captain EO. I was so happy we were able to do it on our last trip, but I wouldn't do it again. Well unless the DSs just insisted we do.

Do you know exactly how your going to pop the question yet?

I sure hope you're right. I put a pretty good amount of thought and effort into making the ring something she would love. I like how it turned out enough, just hope she likes it. Pretty sure she will though. :)

That's great news and gives me a lot of hope. I'm hoping that since we're going during a pretty slow time of year that will help us get the ADRs that I want.

Since I didn't get to see Captain EO the first time it was at Epcot I was excited to see it the first time. Since it was one of the first 3D experiences that made it kind of cool, but still, it feels very outdated.

As far as popping the question, I know when it will be (at the end of the Wild Africa Trek) but as far as execution, not exactly sure.

Good morning everyone! I am now exactly a week away from being able to make ADRs and I can feel the excitement growing! I need to figure out how I'm going to shake her off that morning as we usually car pool to work/school and I'll want to be making that call to reservations right at 7am. Hmmmm.

As we ponder on that it's time for my Yes, maybe, no list for MGM!

YES!
  • Toy Story Midway Mania (We both like this one)
  • Tower of Terror (My favorite ride on Disney property)
  • Rockin' Rollercoaster (Fun, but not something we'd wait to long for.)
  • Beauty and the Beast (Promised her we would do this one last time and we didn't. :sad2:)
  • Star Tours (I like how they reworked this ride)
  • Muppet Vision 3D (We both love the Muppets)
  • The Great Movie Ride (Skipping this classic is not allowed)
  • Watching the Citizens of Hollywood (Saw them preform the 12 days of Hollywood Christmas last visit. Brilliant)
  • Studio Backlot Tour (The best part of this ride is the prop showcase at the end)
  • One Man's Dream (Again, skipping this is not allowed)
  • Honey I Shrunk the Kids (My brother and I always got a picture on the ant. This will continue)

Maybe
  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Specatular (Good show, but I've seen it, alot)
  • Captian Jack Sparrow (Heard good things, but also has long lines)
  • Animation Studio (Could be a good time waster)

No
  • Little Mermaid (Have not seen, have no interest)
  • American Idol (Same as above)

Welp, ADRs are 5 days away now.

Time for some Animal Kingdom: Yes, Maybe, No.

YES!
  • WILD AFRICA TREK! (If you can't tell, I'm excited about this one)
  • Kilamanjaro Safari (Not sure how fun this will be after the Trek, but it's still a must do)
  • Expedition Everest (One of our favorites since we both used to work on rollercoasters)
  • Dinosaur (Best dark ride around, "Not our dino!")
  • Pangani Forest Trail (The bird sancutary is our favorite part of this)
  • Majahrajah Jungle Trek (LOVE this part. The bengal tigers are so beautiful)
  • Tough to be a Bug (One of WDW's best 3D shows I think.)
  • Primeval Whirl (We both used to work a ride similar to this, so it's a must ride)

Maybe
  • Flights of Wonder (Great show, we will see if the timing works out)
  • Festival of the Lion King (Same as above)
  • Wildlife Express Train (This will be a round trip if we do it.)
  • Tricera-Top Spin (We will see how bored we are)

No.
  • Kali River Rapids (This gets a HECK NO! Don't like getting wet in the parks)
  • Finding Nemo (Was not impressed last time)

It's all going to come down to how busy the park is after we get out of the Wild Africa Trek. I think I'm going to schedule us for the 8:45am trek since the park is open for EMH at 8am. This will give us the opportunity to at least ride Everest a couple times and maybe get Dinosaur out of the way before the Trek. Let me know what you think about this plan.

I've been following along but couldn't get logged in from my phone. I am so excited for you! Your plans are looking great, but you have one of my faves in your "no" list. I love :love: the Little Mermaid show at MGM! I saw it for the first time on our last trip and was almost in tears by the end. It's really wonderful! I wasn't a fan of the Nemo show (even though my son's first birthday party was Nemo themed) - I miss Tarzan Rocks! We're heading to the world a few days after you, so I'm especially excited to see your plans unfold!

Nice to see another Ohioan checking in! I make it to Mason at least once a year to visit PKI.

I guess it's because I'm a guy in my mid 20's that I just have no interest in seeing it. It doesn't help that it wasn't her favorite movie either so it's one of those things that we are very likely to just walk by and not even think about it. I miss Tarzan Rocks as well. I only got to see it once, but I remember it very well.

Count me in as well. We only saw it once on our first trip, but it was a lot of fun. I loved the skaters! Very Fun!

I've got to agree with littleluvbug too, The Little Mermaid is a good show. If you have some extra time or need a place to cool off, check it out. You may be surprised. :thumbsup2

Oooh thanks! You just reminded me that I need to update my profile! We actually moved to Cincinnati. I really miss being right down the street from PKI! Did you get lots of snow? My daughter is having her first snow day ever!:woohoo:

I'm definitely taking it into consideration now that you both agreed on it. It might be something that she might enjoy so we might as well try it if we have time.

We got probably 3 or so inches here in Dayton where I work and more like 5 where I live about 20 min north of here. A lot of schools were closing but not so much that I couldn't make it to work this morning. Since you're now living in Cincinnati I would hope that you guys are Reds fans?

What a wonderful PTR. It is so interesting seeing a Disney Proposal through the guys eyes. I can't wait to hear how your plans progress.

I won't keep pressuring you, but my opinion is definitely try it! The Little Mermaid was never one of my favorites, but I do enjoy the music. This show incorporates so many special effects that really make it magical. But now that I've talked it up you'll probably go see it and think it's TERRIBLE!:rotfl:

Honestly, my husband and I aren't huge sports fans. I've been to a few games at the new stadium, and it's always been a good time!

Thanks for checking in and I'm glad I could give you some other insight. Right now it's more about making sure I have my ADRs in order and my day by day outline figured out. Then I'm going to move onto to specifics of HOW exactly the proposal will go down. I suspect I will need some Disney magic pixiedust: from a cast member or two on the Trek to help pull it off.

That's fine that you're not huge into sports but I'm glad to hear you still occasionally go to a game. I've been a Reds fan my whole life and nothing has been more thrilling to me than this rejuvenation we have seen the last 3 years.
