A friend told me that its helpful to have a few questions ready for the various characters you meet to help extend the interaction and make it more magical for your child. Help me with some cute clever questions and comments.....

1. Cinderella - How are the mice friends today? Is that Lucifer still being naughty?

2. Snow White - How are the dwarfs today?

And knowing not all characters can talk....

3. Mickey - Where's Minnie, is she shopping again?
4. Tigger - You aren't getting into any trouble bouncing about are you?

Help me with some more....

Ask Donald: Where's Mickey?, He's my favorite. (Then watch his reaction) :rotfl2:
Make tick tock noises around Capt'n Hook. pirate:
Comment to Daisy how well dressed she is.
Call Dale "Chip" and Chip "Dale"
Call Chip and Dale squirrels.
Tell Cruella De Vil that you think she would look better in stripes rather than spots.

We have asked the Princesses at CRT what their favorite ride/attraction is,
to ask Donald about his nephews gets a good reaction.

:goodvibes

in the same mode, call Goofy Pluto, and Pluto Goofy. Dad is usually good for doing this, and then make some comment about how all dogs look alike, and how you'd rather meet some other character! Do this in jest, and you can get some nice reactions - remember to play along with what they do! Kids love it when the characters make fun of mom or dad!

when your kids are getting their pic taken w/Capt Hook, instead of asking them to say 'cheese' ask them to say 'peter pan' pirate: :thumbsup2

and on her own my DD3.5 said to Belle 'you need to tell the Beast we don't say 'stupid'" In the movie when he's dolled up he says 'i look stupid' and stupid is a bad word in our house. DD and Belle talked for several minutes about what a bad word this is :wizard:

My DD still talks about the time the Queen of Hearts scolded her Dad because he made her mad, and this was 3 years ago! We were waiting in line at the character caravan, DD went up to see the Queen and I told her to be careful because the Queen is a meanie! Well that just set her off, she came over, shook her finger at me, scolded me without saying a word, and bonked me on the head with the autograph book.

Moral is, just play along with the characters and have fun. (But be careful what you say around the Queen ;) )

Ariel~ How are Max and Melody? (Also Sebastian, flounder...)

If you get to meet Capt Hook or Cruella DeVille, you can ask them If theyve seen Peter Pan or the dalmations around lately.

You can ask Belle how the Beast is doing, and Alice about the white rabbit

I remember on more than one occaision, Chip & Dale trying to get dds fruit (a plum, at least 2 dif times)

I wonder what would happen if you asked Pluto where to find his pal Scooby :rotfl2:

We asked Aladdin where Abu (his monkey friend) was when we saw him at CRT on our last trip. (He was first in the lobby area, and then in the dining room.) He said that Abu was not allowed in CRT since the last time he was there, he tried to steal the silver!!!

He remembered us and when he came by our table he pretended to stuff the silverware in his shirt!!! It was funny.

When I was at MK for the evening EMH on New Year's, I saw Mickey and Minnie together in front of the castle. I asked Mickey why he hadn't given Minnie a ring yet. Well, Mickey starts frantically going "Shush!" while putting his finger to his mouth. Well, Minnie was unaware of what was going on (she had been signing the book). When she "asked" what was going on, Mickey was just :rolleyes1 . So ask Mickey why he hasn't given Minnie a ring, or ask Minnie why Mickey hasn't given her a ring yet (you can do the same with Daisy and Donald).

We had a funny interaction with Chip & Dale at Chef Mickey. My girls told Dale that we had seen Chip a few minutes earlier. And Dale told us (well mimed to us) that Chip stinks. So when we saw Chip again, the girls told him that Dale said he stunk. And Dale told (mimed to us) that Chip was a crybaby. This went back and forth the whole time we were there, every time we saw one or the other they would remind us that one was a crybaby and the other stunk. LOL.

Oh and another good one for princesses is to tell them you've seen and love their movie. They will every time ask what was your favorite part. My girls enjoyed this and did with all three, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White.

After reading a similar thread on these boards, DD saw Chip and Dale all dressed up in tuxedos on our cruise in December. I told her to whisper in Chip's ear that he was her favorite chipmunk. The reaction was very funny as Chip acted all proud and happy and was making fun of Dale behind his back. Then Dale couldn't figure out what was going on and just kept shaking his head. It was as if Chip and DD had a "secret" together.

Same trip, DD also told Donald that he was her favorite over Mickey. Donald is very jealous of Mickey and always signs his autograph "Donald Duck #1". I've read that Donald gets very mad at someone wearing a Mickey shirt and will even "steal" someone's Pal Mickey stuffed animal and toss him around a bit. When she told him this, Donald started dancing all around. We literally have at least 5 full minutes on video of dancing Donald! He was so happy and excited. Everyone standing around at the time was chanting, "Go Donald, Go Donald."

You can also ask Tigger to give you bouncing lessons and tell Eeyore to cheer up.

I love this stuff. We're going back to WDW in October and will be attending MNSSHP. Need some ideas for those rarely seen characters that you see at the Halloween party.

We discovered these purely by accident on our last trip, but I thought someone might get some ideas off of them:

- Instead of saying "cheese" around Snow White, say "Old Hag" or "poisoned apple". She becomes very distressed.

- My daughter brought some toy mice (Jacques, Gus, etc... got them at Walmart) to the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Faire. The characters went nuts over them. Would work for any meeting with Cindy, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother or various mice.

- One of my daughter's comfort items is a toy snake (don't ask). Anyway, she brought it up with her when she was meeting Woody and Jesse. We had an incredible reaction (tied up the line for a bit, sorry to those behind us). All sorts of "snake in my boot" hilarity. The CM handlers kept telling us how great that was and that no one had ever thought to bring a snake along. We just kept nodding as if we had planned it the whole time, lol!

- My mom called Goofy Pluto and it did, in fact, get a strong reaction. He kept coming back to our table to chew her out (in mime, of course).

One of our favorite things to do is ask Goofy how Max is doing. Goofy usually mimes that he's fishing. We ask if Max is doing well in school, too ... or if he's surfing.

DS loves to tell Stitch to stay out of trouble -- Stitch usually doubles over in "laughter" (mimed, of course) and makes the "crazy" sign. Speaking of Stitch, we asked Stitch and Pluto to pose together w/DS and Stitch put up a stink, giving Pluto raspberries and throwing sugar packets at him at Ohana's. I'm guessing b/c Stitch "pretended" to be a dog in the movie and now has an aversion to them (?!!?).

I once told Cruella that she is my favorite Disney princess and she said "Dahling, I am a QUEEN, not a princess!" Or, tell Cruella you know where to find some spotted puppies. She'll go on about that as she did w/DS!

When I see Alice, I always ask how Dinah is doing (Dinah is her cat).

Sometimes the princesses talk smack about each other. For example, once we saw Jasmine and DH mentioned that DS had seen his 2nd princess that day. She asked if we saw Cinderella and we said no. She told us that if we saw Cinderella, we should tell her that Jasmine says she's not a good dancer. We saw Cinderella later that day and told her what Jasmine said. Cinderella told us that if we ran into Jasmine again, to tell Jasmine that she's just jealous. It sounds like they're friends and just take these opportunities to have a little fun between them!

I always thank Belle for being a good role model for reading! My students love to read b/c I always mention Belle's love of books.

DS asks Mulan how Mushu is doing.

Capt. Hook once chased me for making Tick-Tock noises at him!

Relate something from that character's movie to them and you're bound to get a reaction!

When Chip came to our table at Chef Mickey's in 2000, I said "Chip it's me, Ginny. Do you remember meeting me in 1966 at Disneyland?" Chip acted thrilled to see me again and gave me a big hug. My kids got a huge kick out of it!

Usually if you tell Eeyore that you love him, or that he's or favorite (or if you compliment him in any way) he'll pull a cute "Aww Shucks" routine.

At a convention/corporate party I played chicken and dare with Capt. Hook. He drew a line in the sand. I drew my own. There was a chase. People were cracking up. Apparently I was the only adult at this party to consider playing with the characters like a kid. It was fantabulous.

On our last trip the kids were younger and we were so snap happy with the camera I don't even remember talking to the characters. The boys are 12 & 14 now and would probably find mom's "mandatory" character breakfast more interesting with a little playful interaction. Thanks for the great suggestions!

We taught DS5 to bow with great ceremony when we meet royalty (princess/prince). Aurora and Prince Philip at DL were very impressed and went on and on about his good manners ( :thumbsup2 Did I mention they are now DH and my favorite characters?!). I tried to teach him to say "My, you are beautiful!" but he was having none of that! LOL!

It's also fun that DS has the same name as a character (think what you will!). A character meal MUST include the Chipmunks in our family! Our Dale and the red-nosed chipmunk (that would be Dale) always have a great time with that. Maybe next time we'll lie and tell Dale (the chipmunk) we named our dog Chip. . . bet that would get a laugh! :lmao:

Great thread. . . :thumbsup2
