Hi all--
Looking for some DIS expert advice.
I let DH choose the restaurant for our only night out w/o kids, and he wants the Bistro de Paris. We've never been, so I have the following questions--
Wine-- is the cheapest bottle REALLY 42 dollars? And is it marked up inexpensive bottles, or good wine? I don't mind paying for the good stuff, if it's really good. I couldn't find a wine list online, and I don't know much about French wine.
Any suggestions for red wine? We like Syrah, hearty Cabs, and Cab/Merlot blends. We will probably order filet, or something of that ilk.
What time should I make the PS to view Illimunations, and do most tables have some sort of view?
Do they pipe in audio like CG, or is that "tres gauche"?
I would also like to hear negatives (and especially positives) of this restaurant. We are shelling out a lot of money to put the kids in the Sandcastle Club (not to mention the dinner bill), so the bottom line is, will we be happy we did? Thanks!

:D

First of all, let me say that the windows at the Bistro de Paris (upstairs) are really small. He could be thinking about Chefs de France (downstairs).

We have dined there (without wine) and the food was wonderful!! At least it was the last time we went- a few years ago. There is a mark up on the wine, but I'm not sure how much.

Maybe if Uncleromulous is hanging around, he could discuss the wine end of the meal. And he might have been there after we were. Have a great trip though.....

We ate there a year ago and thought the food and atmosphere were great. We got there late because of a bus problem at AKL and then going the wrong way through the WS, but they were very nice and accomodating and seated us right away. We didn't get any wine since my mother was on chemo/radiation and wasn't allowed to drink, so they rest of us didn't either, but they did seem to have a nice selection as I remember it. We finished eating before Illuminations so i don't know about watching it from there, also we didn't have a window table so we couldn't see anything anyway. I would think you'd need to request a window and possibly wait for one to be available since I really don't think we would have seen anything from our table even if we had been there during Illuminations.

Thanks for the positive reviews-- it is snowing for the umpteenth time here, so I am Disney Dreaming right in the middle of the playoff game-- Go Pats!
