Making an offer

100 points at AKV! :cool1: Just got the contract so will be returning it pronto and making sure it gets sent for ROFR. Using TSS and they have been great!

We got sent for ROFR today!! :yay: Now we wait! popcorn::

EWL...I'm glad you've gotten better feedback than I did. To be honest, I posted almost the same question and was called a "bottom feeder" for wanting to offer 15 less than asking price.

I can relate to this except it was a broker that told me I wasn't serious about buying when I made an offer lower than what they had listed. Needless to say, I moved on to another broker and within 2 weeks, our same price/pt we offered before with the same UY and same size point contract was accepted. That was our first purchase 18 months ago and we are waiting on ROFR for our 3rd contract now. It goes without saying that we have not contacted that initial broker since. The confusing part is that since this was a small contract, her commission would have been the same regardless of the price/pt. Because of her response, she has missed out on the next two purchases and will also miss out on any future contracts we purchase.

We own at AKV and love it! Good Luck to you and me... I think we need a ROFR support group!

Thanks for that hint! The listing I was looking at is actually at Fidelity but I know from my printouts that it has been there for nearly a month. Seeing the problems others are having this week with Fidelity, I am now thinking to not bother with it and focus on a couple at TSS instead.

Do people make offers on more than one contract at once? It's just that time is short...

What kind of issues with Fidelity? I've been dealing with them on an add-on and Sharon's been quick to reply to me and quit on the ball.

One of the issues I have had with Fidelty is lack of personel to handle this crazy time! We are selling 1 contract through TSS and everytime I called or e-mail if my agent is not available someone is put on the phone saying "XXXX is not here or on phone I would be happy to try to help you" I have gotten all my questions and e-mails answered immediatly. When I call Fidelty I get "she is on another call can we put you through to her voice mail" e-mails go unanswered and it takes several calls to get a simple answer.

With that being said I am prepared for a longer wait time for Fidelty (killing me because we have 2009 points to use by 9/30) but they did have the best contracts over the month time frame I was looking for. I am not knocking Fidelty they just do not have enough staff to get back to people AND they are only opened 5 days a week vs. 7!

It seems to me that some businesses want to make their money off of a little profit from a LOT of people and some businesses want to make their money off of a LOT of profit from just a few people. I've been watching her listings and while some are reasonably priced, many that are not. I know the seller ultimately sets the price but we know the brokers help guide them with what the norms are so they can make their decision. If any DVC reseller would be classified as targeting the "boutique" market, I would think it would be hers.

And that's why I'm glad we have other resellers to choose from. :-)

Figment...

How's it going?? Are you completely out of DVC mode right now?

Yes, I'm out for now. But still on the boards. We'll be paying cash for rooms during out next trip (this Oct) and so far, I've got 3 nights in a value studio at AKV Jambo House and I'm waiting to see if Disney offers 40% discounts soon and if so I'll try to either get a CRO room at BWI or maybe a 1BR at SSR. With a 40% discount, that'll minimize the damage of a wasted year without DVC. And those value rooms at AKV are dirt cheap! They're cheaper than Pop/All-Stars!

You should be hearing something soon, huh?
