Making ADRs on night of arrival after flight?

This will be our first time to fly so I'm not sure how long it will take once we land to get on DME & check in at our resort. If our plane is scheduled to land at 6:30pm, is it a bad idea to make ADR in DTD for 8pm? Or is that cutting it a little too close?

The general consensus here is that you should allow 90 minutes from arrival at the airport gate to your resort at WDW. Then you need to travel to DTD. That wouldn't be enough time for a 6:30 arrival to get to an ADR at 8pm. Also, what if your plane is delayed and arrives late? So my advice is no, don't plan on making an ADR at DTD at 8pm on arrival day.

Thanks! It will probably be best if we just eat at the resort that ngiht. If I remember correctly, it took a while to get to DTD so I would hate to be rushing to make it for even an 8:30 or 9pm ADR. Plus I'm sure my little ones will be hungry as soon as we get there, lol!

I would not make ANY ADR for a flight arriving after ~3-4pm. As mentioned, what if your flight is delayed (and it could be delayed for mechanical issues as well as weather)?

But, yes, you should budget at least 90 minutes from walking off the plane to getting to your resort. So there would be no way to make a DTD 8pm ADR when arriving at 6:30pm and utilize DME.

Especially with little ones, just plan to eat at your resort. After traveling, getting the tykes to bed at a decent time will help you all get a fresh/happy start the next morning!
