Making ADR's 180 out from checkin or date of meal?

Hey all! We're traveling to the world in December and Sunday is the 180 day mark of our check in.

The only reservation we're making is for CRT and it's not until the 5th day of our stay.

Can I make dining reservations beginning 180 days from check-in day or from the date of the meal?

If you're staying on-site with a confirmed Disney resort confirmation, you may book dining reservations for up to 10 days of the trip, at 180 days before date of check-in.

If you don't qualify for the above, then you may book dining reservations at 180 days before date of dining.

If you are staying on property, it's 180 days from check-in and you can make reservations for up to 10 days.

That's what I thought.

But my cousin, who is on our reservation but making her own CRT ADR, was told this AM she couldn't do it.

I told her to call back and get a different CM. Haven't heard yet how she fared.....

We always make ours 180 days out. We make the resort reservations first, and when the Disney web site says 180 days.... We've already made our schedule and restaurant choices. I call and book everything, it takes maybe thirty minutes to do it all. If you wait, it gets really hard if your choices are booked up, and you're having to go with alternates or move days around.
